Participants soar during the blanket toss portion of Utqiagvik's Nalukataq celebration on June 24 and 27, 2022. is this blanket traditionally made of walrus skin? or what?

The blanket is made from the seal skins that were the outside of the boats used during the whale hunt! The skins after used for the blanket will be turned into vests for the whaling crews, and eventually moccasins.
