My nephew has Treacher Collins syndrome and I was not familiar with CDLS back then. I just love you guys so much! Sebastian is the cutest guy. I LOVE his personality. When you were in the parking lot talking about your little dilemma I was doing some thinking. (I have worked in the medical field for over 30 years now. EMT, corrections medic (detention facilities), critical care transport coordinator for a trauma facility, I worked in a gym that helped people with various physical challenges, I’ve also worked as an assisted living specialist/Certified Med Tech for adults with developmental disabilities) My first thoughts were as a mom and what I did if I went shopping when my kids were younger. I had this padded seat covering to put on shopping carts, or high chairs as restaurants. I had a bunch of errands one day and my daughter started to fall asleep and her head would drop back like Sebastian’s did. My sister and I picked her up, used a purse we took to create enough padding so we could lay her in the seat and it worked. I believe I took off a hoodie I had on to block the leg holes. I can’t think of the name of it now but I used it for my last 2 kiddos. My daughter is now 14 (going on 20 something 😂 lord help me) so I need to rack my brain to remember the name and I’ll let you know. Then I started thinking with my other various hats. There has to be something out there that can be used in a shopping cart seat to assist those who need help sitting up including neck & head support. In the world we live in there has to be something and this is why inclusion is so important. I say this as a mother, a fellow special needs mom, and with my background and knowledge. More importantly as a fellow special needs mom. If you don’t mind I would love to look into this for you and help you find something that can help him sit in a shopping cart and be supported the way he needs to.

I'm a plant person too, I got some shamrock plants back in 2020 when the pandemic hit, I have grown them ever since and they got BIG. I love them. I have a one that is the size of the planter you bought. The leaves open during the day and close at night. With as much as you do all day I bet you are tired! see you in the next video!

Just an idea, grab a soft foam kids boogie board & cut it widthwise to a good size for little man's back support and then drill a hole on each side to allow passthrough of the cart strap or better yet use a padded shoulder strap from a duffel bag so you can clip it across him at a good height. Sit him on a towel. It takes no space to cary into the stores when you don't have "power steering". 😉 space to secure

Sebastian is smart and is trying. Him holding himself up is amazing. But he definitely should always be comfy in every situation. I work with special needs people too and always improvise as well. I always have extra blankets and pillows for comfort in uncomfortable situations.
When Sebastian was putting his head back at Walmart, it kind of seemed like he was just trying to see what you were seeing in that Direction 🙂 he seemed so happy because there was so much to look at and he was sitting like a big boy all by himself 🩵
Next time put something like a back pack or thin cookie sheet covered with towel behind him , keep him from head falling back maybe . Just idea . Hes growing so fast .

Another thing you can do too is pick up a few items and go to a checkout and they’ll hold them for you while you finish shopping.
I think I definitely need to invest in curbside pick up haha!!!
Have you ever tried the Caroline’s cart or even the double kid cart. They have high backs. Sweet Sebastian is so small they might just be way to big. 🤷♀️
