The fruit and veg stall man,George is my grandad and Scott is my dad. Hearing them be mentioned got me in tears George passed away when I was little and hearing his name made me so happy ❤

My old man was a docker from Liverpool ,he was always very proud of that . He came to work in the docks in London and found that the wit , sharpness and to think sharp was an ability that only Scousers and proper east end lads had . He was also a great thief 😊

Love this programme, great interview and this old girl reminds me so much of my old Nan Rosie bless her, keep swearing girl, being from Deptford south east London a family of working class dockers, we are all cut from the same cloth, you are right London ain’t the same anymore, it’s upsetting the old school Londoner has gone, I’ll defiantly bring my family down for breakfast one Saturday 💙👌🏼
I can remember my nan shelling the winkles at the kitchen sink after sunday dinner. The days when the whole family would get together for sunday dinner cooked by my nan, she would always serve you an overloaded plate, you could take someone with you and she would feed them as well. Its a crying shame those days and the family values are a thing of the past.

I love this woman, cos she says as it is & wow did she bring memories of my late mum back, even tho my late mum was from Northern Ireland esp when she menitoned the driping & my mum would do the same with bone morrow. My late mum would make her own pies & she was an amazing cook & I was thought how to cook but you guys are bang on as it does not taste the same as our mum's would of made. Every Christmas my mum would cook a small Christmas dinner for our nebighour before we had our food. You really don't get people like them anymore. ❤

Brilliant interview! My mum and dad used to go to your cafe when they were dating in the early 60’s. She went to the same school as the Kray twins at the same time. We lived just off of Bethnal Green Road. My nan even had a Jewish restaurant off of Bethnal Green Road called Kitties. Happy memories!

My Nan used to put a stew in the oven on very low all day and a few times when she went out, Trixie, her dog opened the oven door, dragged to pot onto the floor and ate the stew.
