I liked the last idea a lot though I would adapt it slightly by using ramps to get on to the first two to make it much faster. As for some of the others....questionable haha.
I can't see any of his channel as it isays it is blocked in "my country" which is the USA. Anyone else have that problem and no, I'm not using a VPN or Proxy....
I like the fourth one (under the wheel stand) as it has potential provided it has an additional built-in support once you reach the desired height. Built correctly by a reputable manufacturer certainly will have an appeal.
the individual things that go under the wheels with the pins seems like a pretty neat idea... I would use some seriously thick tubing and seriously thick pins.
where can I order the orange jack that tilts the car, So many times Ive needed to only tilt my car to one side and not just jack it up. I mean pulling a transmission on that tilted car would be so.. EASY???
3:14 looks like a 4 legged jack stand. it just gets raised up and then all 4 legs auto lock when they are extended. do that on all 4 tires and you got yourself a cheapo lift. (no more dangerous than lifting the car and putting it on stands.)
Love the two position high lift jack in the beginning, the blue bottle jack ramp/lift, and the under tire lift stands. the jack your car on a tilt lift looks way too dangerous.
Whatever sort of jack you use, you need a secondary support for safety reasons. The jacks that use a bottle jack and a lever to increase the height are fine so long as the bottle jack is rated for twice what you would normally use to jack the same car.. and again use some support once it's up there. I have been stuck under a car and it was a very scary experience.. luckily no real injury, but mega scary.
The jack stands at time 3:14 .... I wish i had those when changing my Catalytic converter on my car. That one seems like it give good height for a home garage jack stand
The one at 3:00 looks much safer than the rest. It does need a locking mechanism, and high grade hardware to be safe. The lateral movement of the first one is downright deadly.
Interesting stuff that was obviously fun to make, but I just use a floor jack and old (aluminum preferred for light weight) rims sometimes nested in larger old rims it I;m working on a truck.. Rims are so much better than jack stands and ramps I gave mine away in the mid-2000s. They don't tip, they don't crush, and they work on earth and sand (demonstrated by many thousands of cars stored on rims in u-pull-it salvage yards.
It is always so nice to see people saving money while making home made devices. They all have more money left over to pay for life insurance to support their loved ones when something goes wrong. That is considering that the insurance company does not refuse to pay after investigating in such cases.
A fool and his money are soon parted, as you well know. How do you justify sitting behind the wheel of a vehicle filled with explosive fuel just below your feet, surrounded by high explosive azide air bag propellant, and cascading down the street encased in a steel and glass cage with tremendous momentum just feet away from other similarly explosive filled high velocity chunks of metal coming toward you? I wonder how many people who have never attempted to repair a car will cause horrible accidents because they drive their car until the wheels fly off because they are obliviously ignorant and utterly dependent on paying someone else to tell them what to do. Let us see what the actuarial tables say.
The ones at 3:15 would be the only one that looks like a good idea to start with and do some more refining for safety. All the others, lust long enough to put jackstands under the car.
Yes this was the best one. I think it's better than quick Jack's or w.e it's called sold on TV. That one on tv u cant even get under the car from the sides!
Matt Rodriguez. Nope, better to do it from the rocker panels and and go side to side if you only want to jack up the car twice. Front to back the car could roll if not wheel chocked properly. Done with race cars all the time, rarely an accident.
Is there any info as requested by a few, on where to purchase for example, the Red stands w the 4 posts, on each wheel? Or anything like them? Any of them? Or is it supposed to be a true DIY video and everything seen was done from scratch, building the lift systems and install...: th me..
These comments make me laugh. Would you trust a Snap-on jack? That's about as nice and expensive as they get. And yet, you should literally never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack--any jack. Who gives a flying rats behind how the car is lifted, it's the supporting that matters. That and that only. You feel good by hating on people trying to come up with a creative way to lift a car higher than most jacks can go because it looks sketchy? The scariest accidents in the world usually happen by misunderstanding things that look safe. The best, most robust, powerful jack in the world can be accidentally loosened and drop immediately. Jack stands, locking supports, a gantry crane, all much better ideas than getting under a car supported by a jack.
Very ingenious all of them with several security issues and all, but fun to watch from a distance. Anyway due credit to the respective owners. Since you just used video material from others. Thanks for the compilation.
That last one... I'd have a lot more bracing, hell, I'd have at least SOME bracing on that zig zag C channel... looks like it was just notched, bent and welded, no braces to keep it from collapsing... wow, that doesn't look safe at all...
I see so many uneducated comments on here. Yes, safety is a concern, and yes, the methodology of these jacks are questionable and need refinement; but a jack is just a simple machine of a lever, and making a lever is easy. If it works, it works. There's not really any inherent safety issues, other than tipping a vehicle. Just keep in mind there are worse methods of making a jack. And most of these seem to be purpose built, except the first one which is literally just a homemade floor jack.
Clear evidence you do not have to be an engineer to know how to build something. The comments in here are based on paranoia and social media videos. It is very basic. Lift an object and compensate for weight distribution. Great video.
last one reminds me of when and how i will never jack a car on a rough surface again. that jack doesnt even have wheels and has a mighty arc to its lift. the jack isnt going to slide any further under the car... the jack is going to slip accross the contact patch of the car. that's when bad things happen. trust me.
No way. None of these solutions (and some look excellent) have any redundancy in the event of failure. When I am under a car, I do not question *if* something is going to fail--I simply assume it will. I do not even trust jack stands alone. I place a tire with blocking, etc. along with the original jack in a favorable place. Murphy's law is a crushing experience in these contexts.
It is being sold, search for myliftstand. Pricing is not officially available, but you may be able to find some info in the comments on their facebook profile. They're not cheap.
Some nice ideas but one looks very dangerous. Considering all the time plus material, I think I'll stick to my hydraulic quickjack where all I have to do is press a button thank you.
That first one looks like a first time welder laid those beads. The way that contraption was bowed down makes me think the strength is not there. I’ve been working on cars professionally for over 30 years and all of these are what I would call a neat concept but I wouldn’t feel safe under most of them. That contraption with the chain hoist looks scary bad and the one at the very end looks like if you tried it on any kind of an incline the vehicle would be prone to slipping off but I’d probably trust that more than the piece of crap scissor jack that most cars are equipped with for an emergency tire change.
These guys are just ingenious, I LOVE watching this.
good job figuring out what could be the next best jack. THANKS FOR SHOWING US ...................
I liked the last idea a lot though I would adapt it slightly by using ramps to get on to the first two to make it much faster. As for some of the others....questionable haha.
deceased husband also had a great idea for a car lifting jack but it did not work.
3:38 😍
I can't see any of his channel as it isays it is blocked in "my country" which is the USA. Anyone else have that problem and no, I'm not using a VPN or Proxy....
I like the fourth one (under the wheel stand) as it has potential provided it has an additional built-in support once you reach the desired height. Built correctly by a reputable manufacturer certainly will have an appeal.
The last one was amazing
thanks for posting saw one im definitely going to build and use
Some clever ideas here. I wouldn't work under some of them though ! :)
The guy jacking up the cobra looks like the only welder in the bunch lol
the individual things that go under the wheels with the pins seems like a pretty neat idea... I would use some seriously thick tubing and seriously thick pins.
I would also use some woodblocks to put underneath, as an extra safety precaution. Dont wanna get killed like a moron ✌
where can I order the orange jack that tilts the car, So many times Ive needed to only tilt my car to one side and not just jack it up. I mean pulling a transmission on that tilted car would be so.. EASY???
I like the one at 3:14, if a well-known manufacturer produces that one I would buy it.
The 4 poles should also be connected at the top
this man really knows
Superb,
Awesome
Brilliant
👍😋😉
love it how these work.
3:14 looks like a 4 legged jack stand. it just gets raised up and then all 4 legs auto lock when they are extended. do that on all 4 tires and you got yourself a cheapo lift. (no more dangerous than lifting the car and putting it on stands.)
alan king Thats 100% correct.
alan king I've seen those kind for sale on different web sites
No I'm not sure what they are called
myliftstand.com/
Jack stands already have four legs but good point lol
Love the two position high lift jack in the beginning, the blue bottle jack ramp/lift, and the under tire lift stands. the jack your car on a tilt lift looks way too dangerous.
you make this jack wheels from bearing?
Insane and awesome!!!!
I need to get building some of these
jerry bushman
Just buy some sleepers, 3 or 4 on each side, there safe enough.
just buy one , thats safe and tested
The Handyman what are sleepers?
This 4 pillar locking deelie at 4:00 is kool with a capital ooohl...
Looks safe enough...but you first.

2nd last one was the safest option, but slower.
Hope you have good engineering skills, designing these projects. They don`t give you a second chance.
By any chance would you happen to know what's the name of that product/lift/jack stand about 3:11 into the video?
Good idea by using Ikea coffee tables.
Mitchell Yardanoff lol
Detective: Sorry for your loss...do you know where he got this stupid idea?
New Widow: Some youtube channel called mr. handyman
Dallas Breault LMAO
👌😄
Funny, I picture the late Benny Hill demonstrating these!
Cool inventions
I could use the four red ones ASAP so i can install my new exhaust.
What is the red car in the picture?
Hey great video, whats the name of the music track please
These are some great inventions! So why come you don't have these out on the market selling them????
The jack stands at time 3:14 .... I wish i had those when changing my Catalytic converter on my car. That one seems like it give good height for a home garage jack stand
the first jack made tin this video can u show from ,start finish
Where can I get a pair like those at 2:40?
Dear God that last one made me recoil in horror!!
Let Osha know you have these jacks! See how long you'll be in business then!
Hope you make a ton of money man!
Guy has a pit but spends half an hour assembling a contraption to lift his car...
The one at 3:00 looks much safer than the rest. It does need a locking mechanism, and high grade hardware to be safe. The lateral movement of the first one is downright deadly.
you are a smart man from YOGO
The second to last one is awesome, the rest are absolutely useless and extremely dangerous!
To much work, I can drive up on ramps rated at 3 tons each
How much effort went in to making these? Jacks are very inexpensive today. Just doesn't seem worth it.
Interesting stuff that was obviously fun to make, but I just use a floor jack and old (aluminum preferred for light weight) rims sometimes nested in larger old rims it I;m working on a truck.. Rims are so much better than jack stands and ramps I gave mine away in the mid-2000s. They don't tip, they don't crush, and they work on earth and sand (demonstrated by many thousands of cars stored on rims in u-pull-it salvage yards.
only problem is having your sills crushed by a random shaped rim

The ones at 3:15 would be the only one that looks like a good idea to start with and do some more refining for safety. All the others, lust long enough to put jackstands under the car.
None of these are safe. Always use some extra wood, tires, etc on different places beneath your car as a safety backup.
The one at 3:14 looks like the best one but still a nope and why doesn’t any of them have some type of locking device?
Matt Rodriguez I liked his best too, it looks like the legs lock into place when he gets to a certain point
Yes this was the best one. I think it's better than quick Jack's or w.e it's called sold on TV. That one on tv u cant even get under the car from the sides!
Maybe if a bar could be put through the middle of the two stands so you could jack it from the center point of the bar would also be better and safer
Matt Rodriguez. Nope, better to do it from the rocker panels and and go side to side if you only want to jack up the car twice. Front to back the car could roll if not wheel chocked properly. Done with race cars all the time, rarely an accident.
Second last one with the four wheel lift is best. The others are sketchy at best.
simply clever
simply clever
LOL its all fun and games with DIY until someone dies haha. :P
The first car on its side over the pit had its rocker panel totally crushed in from that DIY trip to the hospital ...lol .
Fade2black yep that guy is an idiot he thinks a steel rod at the top and the bottom of the “lift” is going to hold a 1 1/2 ton car
I use drive on stands drive up on them then take the jack and jack the other end up and slide another one under those wheels
Mr. Handyman, any more info available on the setup at 3:15?
Is there any info as requested by a few, on where to purchase for example, the Red stands w the 4 posts, on each wheel? Or anything like them? Any of them? Or is it supposed to be a true DIY video and everything seen was done from scratch, building the lift systems and install...: th me..
Name of song?
Welcome! Factory (Garage equipment) from China!
I can't wait for the sequel: Homemade Jackstand Disasters!
Those @ 3.20 time, where can I purchase these???

UA-cam comment continue to prove that small-minded do-nothings will never fail to criticize the accomplishments of those who excel.
well said scott
Absolutely, positively correct and thank you for putting it into words!
The last jack of the only good idea at least it kept the user away from the underneath of the car.
Only one I would trust is the one with the floor jack and self locking height adj.! That one with the chain hoist is stupid dangerous!
This looks goo in principle; but you better calculate the stresses on each component before you try it.
Very ingenious all of them with several security issues and all, but fun to watch from a distance. Anyway due credit to the respective owners. Since you just used video material from others. Thanks for the compilation.
Why do you need to jack the car up when you’ve got a pit to get underneath ?
Great comment, I thought of the same thing
anyone have a link to the ones at the 2:27 mark?
That last one... I'd have a lot more bracing, hell, I'd have at least SOME bracing on that zig zag C channel... looks like it was just notched, bent and welded, no braces to keep it from collapsing... wow, that doesn't look safe at all...
A guy I use to work with got killed like that!!! Freaking jack gave out and killed him. True story
you are good
Yehhhh I’ll stick to a car lift 😂
There is a reason we don't see these in stores ... :)
A Dude no kidding lol
hows the sill damage on the yellow terror @ 2:25 FFS these are scary
Not to mention all that weight being forced down on those two tires on the other side.. No thanks.
Good Thinking But Not Safe any one of those
Quicker and safer to just drive it onto ramps.
Pretty much it. That usually give someone about 1 foot above ground level. Sufficient enough to do most work.
I see so many uneducated comments on here. @3:52 no way man. you crazy!
The first one with the orange lift is dangerous as hell!
Ogre Dad and really stupid it’s an unsafe waste of time and money
Clear evidence you do not have to be an engineer to know how to build something. The comments in here are based on paranoia and social media videos. It is very basic. Lift an object and compensate for weight distribution. Great video.
Check your average jack stands the weak link is a 5mm role pin that holds the weight.
last one reminds me of when and how i will never jack a car on a rough surface again. that jack doesnt even have wheels and has a mighty arc to its lift. the jack isnt going to slide any further under the car... the jack is going to slip accross the contact patch of the car. that's when bad things happen. trust me.

Alguié sabe cómo funciona el banco del min 3:39?
My favorite one was the one that started at 3:11- 4:39. If this contraption is being sold, I would like to buy a set of 4.
It is being sold, search for myliftstand. Pricing is not officially available, but you may be able to find some info in the comments on their facebook profile. They're not cheap.
Где можно найти обзор именно этой 3:35 штуки? 3👍
Can someone check if these people are alive
You go under,I will watch...
On the second one... now I know why his car had no rocker panels left...
Every one of these people are future Darwin Award recipients.
Never get under anything supported on pins...unless those pins have about a 2 inch diameter.
Some nice ideas but one looks very dangerous. Considering all the time plus material, I think I'll stick to my hydraulic quickjack where all I have to do is press a button thank you.

Tire-less rims are good to put under car's tires. Much safer than jackstands.
If you are just doing the brakes just put the wheel underneath the car. A board will protect aluminum wheels.
that is safe!
the welds on the first one are about as porus as a pumice stone
Things like these are why our heath insurance premiums are so high.
Way way to much work, I have a lift in my garage so happy!
