One thing I always loved is the diamond sponge for getting the edge nice. Adding that one simple row of accent using either the sheet goods or one piece style is great. The sheet good is nice when you want to save a little bit for a customer and give them a different look. Always make sure the thickness is right even though you may have to build out which is better than it sticking out more. Using the tape is such a simple process as well to help things to stay in place. Can't wait to see this shower done. Fantastic job as always Josh. 👍🏻
Oh yes to diamonds sponge creates such a clean look compared to not using it. Oh yes the sheets seem to come in thinner pieces than what is showed in the video. The next video is going to be about grouting so be sure to come back for that one as well. Thanks David for your excellent comments!
@@TheExcellentLaborer I did click on the link you posted last but it was the link for your shower with the tile your wife picked out. Just an FYI either way it all looks wonderful and the grouting and fixture placement is always so rewarding. 👍🏻
Just wanted to say thanks for this video. I Just did my first full tile shower using 12”x24” polished tiles and used a leveling system. I had never even heard of such a thing prior to seeing this video and it would have been a total disaster without using it. Please keep sharing the great how to videos for us non-professionals.
At 11:00, you do not glue the bullnose to the wall until the floor is down. Once the floor is down, do you cut a small piece of tile for that empty green space, then silicone and grout accordingly?
One of my favorite way to get that excess grout off finished edge or tile or ablive the row is a toothbrush. Grabs the pile and all the sand.. so nothing left in grout line or on drywall.
Hey Thor! I actually enjoyed doing voice overs. I do put a lot of time into editing but I think it pays off in the long run. I appreciate you stopping by!
Never done a bathroom but I am going to do it fallow your video the only think the I am kind of scare is the floor and the drain how to waterproof good sure I install the floor tile fort or the walls ?
I never tiled anything, and I'm learning a ton from your videos. One question or suggestion. Would it look better if the shelves were cut into the tiles below rather than above to keep the straight factory edge visible ? Thanks for all the knowledge. Got some PEX to do at mom's house I'm confident I can do now. Plus I been an auto mechanic for 30+ years.
Wish my home's original builders would've watched this video before installing the most ridiculously crooked shower tiles in the history of shower tiles. 😐
Thanks for the great videos Josh - I have been watching the different stages as I rebuild my master shower.
I just finished my tile shower and I found that I really enjoy tile work! Thank you for learning me thru this process!
Remodeling my master bathroom. Been watching your videos. Learned a lot. Bought leveling system and Rigid wet saw. Keep up the videos.
How is your project going?
looking to do my first tile job so I've watched a LOT of videos. Yours are simple and concise without a lot of fluff causing confusion. Love it.
Thank you, Gary! I like to keep things simple yet plenty of detail. Good luck with your project!

GOOD JOB 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you!

Is bullnose instead of j mold or tile edge
Looking 👍 good
if you install your corner shelf on the top of the course/row of tiles below, you hide the exposed cut in the wall tile.

I was thinking the same thing!
What would be a normal labor rate for a tile job like this? Backer is up and waterproofed.
A little more info, using 12x 24 inch tile, how many rows. How much weight can the 1st row hold?
why do you not use leveling clips on the mosaic tile?
what is "pad that out"? you say that around 3:24.
Pad out is when you build up the thin set so the mosaic tile will be flush with the porcelain tile.
what size height wise is the bullnoise and/or how do you select i see everything from 1" to 6" tall
I would have put a darker mosic tile and it would have given it a beautiful contrast
How do you describe the mosaic for the corners
How many rows are possible
Did I miss what you do when you reach the ceiling?
your bull nose on the left side you didn’t start in the same spot as the right side how come. The shower hole did you use 3/4 7/8 or 1 inch hole saw
why not put a length of painters tape on the wall where the bullnose ends so you can pull it off with all the excess thinset.
Idk where your from my guy, but your accent sounds exactly like people from Pittsburgh!
It ok
👍
Thanks!
