  • If you are hiking in Sedona, Arizona, you don't want to miss these hikes!
    1. Cathedral Rock Trail: 1.2 miles with 740 feet of elevation gain
    2. Boynton Canyon Trail to Subway Cave: 7.5 miles with 950 feet of elevation gain
    3. Wilson Mountain Peak Trail: 9 miles with 2,598 feet of elevation gain
📷 On these hikes, you will see beautiful views of red sandstone buttes and spires. You will catch both canyon and expansive views. They each give a great variety to the scenery in this area.
⏱️ Many trails are within a 10 to 20-minute drive from Sedona, and the distance of the hikes range from 1 to 12 miles long, which are perfect for a half-day adventure.
☀️ The best time to visit most trails is during sunset or sunrise to avoid crowds and the heat of the day. Bring your 10 essentials, and definitely your headlamp if you plan to hike for sunset.
🚌 Take the free Sedona Shuttle to some of the trailheads, which run from Thursday to Sunday. Or you can arrive at the trailhead before or after the shuttles run to get a parking spot. Weekdays and shoulder seasons like Jan/Feb and Sept/Oct are often less crowded.

Personal favorites are definitely West Fork, relatively easy hike or can be an extended backpacking trip. Probably one of the most beautiful hikes in the area. Soldiers Pass, not the easiest hike but the payoff is worth it. And many side trails offer plenty of opportunities. If you have off road capability, definitely check out Shnebly Hill, many trails off of this road that winds above Sedona. Or you can park in the lot at the bottom and walk up to several destinations. Any place you pick in Sedona is a winner, as it’s one of the most beautiful places in our state. Happy Hiking!

We didn’t have time to do Soilders Pass, but we have heard good things and it’s definitely on our list. Can’t wait to go back. Appreciate you sharing your go-to Sedona spots and hikes ☺️

Love the video! That resort in Boynton is the Enchantment Resort, which is world-renowned as a luxury destination resort (partly for the reason y’all didn’t love it: it’s secluded deep in the canyon away from other hotels). Glad y’all liked the hikes overall 🥾🌵☀️🏞️🌅

On the Wilson trail, did you go north or south side to the summit?

We came from the south side. Here is the AllTrails link to the hike: Wilson Mountain Peak Trail on AllTrails
