Good Day everyone! Today we did a bit of different preserving. I was in need of some roasted peppers... I have ravioli to make LOL...
I keep mine in the fridge however you do you and your kitchen your rules.
Here is now I did it:
Washed and cored peppers they can really be any colour you want. I just had red.
On a cookie and oven preheated to 400 I placed them in the oven until they were soft and charred.
Once out of the oven in a bowl cover with lid or plastic wrap for about 15 minutes.
Take the skin off put in a jar top with olive oil... Now this is where you make it your own, add garlic, herbs what ever you want... Use that oil for anything it is amazing.
Hope you enjoy the video please don't forget to hit that Subscribe button and hit that like button on your way out!
Thanks for hanging out in my kitchen I will see you super soon,
    Michael and Tracy

What temperature do you roast them at? They don’t look black. I love roasted peppers. Thank you for the video.

I don't understand why you didn't fill the jar? Leaving it half empty leave air in it ... No? Isn't that bad?
Also in the water bath... You didn't boil it? Sounds like you just warmed it. I don't understand?

HI. IF YOU WATER BATH THESE CANS CAN THEY STAY OUTSIDE OF THE REFRIGERATOR.

It is my understanding that they cannot. according to the national center for home food preservation you need to add lemon juice and vinegar and they have a recipe for marinated peppers, which does include oil, on their web site.

Did you bring the water bath to a BOIL? Then “TIMED” for 1 minute? FIRST time preserving peppers in “OLIVE OIL” - like the style however, need more explanation etc., along with the other followers. Thanks

The best sandwich on earth: crusty roll, slice (breading optional) of chicken, turkey, pork or beef sauteed in olive oil and butter flavoured with thyme, topped off with sauteed mushrooms and roasted peppers, and in my case a liberal dosing of hot pepper flakes (the more the better). Recommend eating while leaning well over your plate. Yum.

Hi dear friend, I admire you, constantly doing something. You work very hard and a homestead prepper is constant good work. It’s worth it. I roast peppers too and usually I do them outside on the grill. They are so good especially the red ones. I freeze mine and so delicious in the winter time. So $10. A case is not bad. Here they sell them by half or full bushel pretty expensive. I hope you are well Michael and family. You take care. 👍👍👍🌹🌹🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🌲🌲🌲🌲🐈🦃🦃🍂🦃🍂😘😘😘

Hello Love I hope all is good, It is just 7:30am here. Yes that was a good deal for us as well. I chopped a whole lotta peppers but I am okay with that as when winter hits they are 4.99-5.99 a pound here. Think of you often Tracy

I made mine with some garlic and capers. Five days on and the oil in one of my jars is bubbling like soda. Should I discard those? What did I do wrong?

    • @destinycoach5
      @destinycoach5 2 роки тому +1

Yes that is bad. Maybe the jar wasn't sterilized or maybe water was in it. Don't know . But that suckz.
