- For the money I think the HS-519 Cable Tie Gun Tensioning and Cutting Tool is a good buy for a diy person like me and one I will mention in the future as a long term review.

First of ....I thank you Steve for the promotion and I tell you your doing good with that piece of junk but the thing your forgetting is don`t come close to where that blade cut the tye rap....it will cut you....the ones I have is...you know the T&B type or the good old pliers....they never fail and ah.....My tye raps don`t cost me no 100 dollars for ten....I get them by the thousands and there $102 bucks....that's contractor price but haven't both none in about ten years....don`t do much work....CHEERS
HAHA $100 for 10 , I bet you had a good chuckle eh :) These are wingwang tye rap pliers for wingwang operators like me . HAHA Cheers bud.
@@SteveRobReviews Hey Steve ya bought ah couple thousand tie wraps and ya go through ah couple hundred ah year so you're good four4 the next ten10 years.
Oh and the Thomas and Betts gun is a much better tool. Use guys gotta do a test. Lines up twenty tie wraps and see who does it quicker and cleaner.
MostlymoparIH Good idea 👍
That is a good one Gator! I guess you are not into the wingwang tools.
@@jake08742 Yes Dwight....it`s good wing-wang crap and Steve likes it this time
Used the nice Panduit gun at work, but needed a basic & cheap model for home & got this. No directions included. Over thought how to feed the end & wound up here, oh, obviously from the bottom. Thank you. And if you're doing lots of tie wraps regularly (I was averaging a couple hundred per day) you'll want something that's easy on your hands, like the brand I mentioned. For personal use & for the price, this is a keeper
👍
The biggest reason to buy them is so that you Don't leave nice little razor blades behind to slice you open the next time you stick your hands in amongst them. It does get them tight. On a 3/16th it will break them if you're not careful. I've had mine about a year and use it several times a week
Looks good enough to me. I have a 35 year old plastic tensioner that was a salesman give away. Still works fine and it is very small and easy to get into tight places. If I see one of these $14 ones I will be grabbing it. Thank you for the review, Steve
Bud for $14 it's great and all metal too. I got mine off Amazon .
Got to love Gator's World! We have these at my business for pallet banding, Way more than 14 bucks!
$14 here vs down in america is about $4 US . So you must be using an expensive pair about $30 canadian :) Gator is a blast.
Now you will be able to fix anything Steve with the right tool!
I'm one of those people that can fix stuff with crap so easily , just a natural talent eh :)
I watched this video at 1.5 speed. Your even funnier that way. Good review. With your 40+ years experience, your word is gospel. Thanks pal
LOL thanks bud .......
I like that tool Steve.
Danny I have used it a lot and I must say it does a great job and at a price I was sure would be crap but no its good crap :)
Great video! I have one that I purchased from a "discount" lumber yard chain. It's a lot like yours except I paid $50 for it. I've had it for about 5 yrs, use it all the time. Good luck with yours!
Thanks Jimmy its a keeper and does a great job so far. Cheers
I could of used this a couple of says ago. It will work for my needs. Will Pick this up.
Buddy its well worth the money and STEVE ROB approved :)
I got a little ty-wrapped up in this video Steve, but glad to see you cut loose after each "wrap" session. Cheers my friend.
LOL thanks bud .....
Looks like so good scrap there Steve. 👍
Doesn't get any better eh :)
I got one of those some where..., atleast I did have LOL. They work ok in certain situations like on the big zip ties in a tight spot where you can't pull with your hand, but most of the time pull with my hand cause that's what I have handy LOL
For the money Chase these crappy ones do great in spot as you say.
I could see buying one if I had to use a lot of cable ties, otherwise I just I pull them tight. I like the ties that twist off. Glad that junk worked out!
Jay that pile of crap was actually pretty good. The way I fix things it's always lots of cable ties go on every repair just incase :)
Could be the hardened cutter blade is installed at an angle to give a shear cut, useful with stainless steel bands. Also, there are nitwits, computer aces who don't know a thing about hardware, listing on eBay. More than once I've messaged sellers and found that their 1 is 1 box of 100 or their 3 is 3 packs of 12 pieces.
BUT... does it flush cut, or leave a nasty edge? (personal pet peeve since I got to deal with poorly dressed tywraps everyday).
Flush cut alex. Oh ya I've been cut too many times too.
Hey! I have the same tool. It works good but it's a little big (where's Thomas to say "that's what she said"?).
I saw the one in Gators video and it's great but ya, a little pricey for me
I can't see a tradesman using this but for hacks like us it's as good as we are at best :)
If you consider yourself a hack, I'm honored to be called a hack by you! lol
I have only ever needed the stainless ties once
For the money, it works to work pretty good. When I was doing control wiring, we would use Thomas and Betts gun, but it’s a little pricy. 😀👍
I was surprised it was all metal and for the money did a good job. I doubt it compares to the pro units but for a diyer it's a keeper . Hope your enjoying all that snow 😂😂
Did it make it nice and tight?
Buzz I can break 50lb ties if you press too much. Oh ya it makes them tight .
Bruce L made me buy one lol I haven't used it yet! 😂
It's a great unit and for $14 a steal of a deal. I bet you paid about 3 pounds where you live.
Now that is how to save money! Gonna have to buy me 1 of those chiniesum thingy mabobs for sure
Mike if you like good crap this is about the best crap your going to get for the money :)
Great review... that pipe ain't going anywhere now!
LOL your killing me bud - your almost as twisted as I am HAHAHA
HA! HA! HA! "It even has instructions so it must be good right". Remember when you could read instructions and they made sense. No direct translations from Chinese or whatever!!!! That tool looks pretty good, but you still can't beat a twist or two with the pliers like you showed a while back!!! I still use that trick!!!
Gators idea of twist is terrific and I use it too but these have come in handy when I put about 30 on a part just to get it down the road. LOL
I'm seeing a little Scotty coming 0ut of you, maybe to much coffee, cool tool.
You do know scotty is actually canadian eh :) He just loves coffee too.
Now you can fix anything Steve!
Give me a pile of tye raps and this good crapy gun and I can take on the world 😅😅
Pretty cool tool. For those times where you REAAAAAAAAAAALY need it tight. :-)
LOL like a hole in the head eh ........
@@SteveRobReviews, yeah or a tourniquet.
Being in the communication industry myself, I use tie wraps all the time. That little tool would be so handy. I can't imagine one costing $500 bucks though. I'd take the one you have for $15.
I have used it on 150 tie wraps already and if i'm not careful it will pull so hard it breaks 50 lb ties. It cuts them off flush and it's a keeper for the money . Cheers
@@SteveRobReviews I wonder what made the other one so expensive? I need to look this thing up.
Caney Brach Farm SC I bought mine off Amazon
does it make it crap i'm watching while taking a crap ?
Thats a double double at Hortons . 😅😅
@@SteveRobReviews paired with a big mac combo makes it' extra greasy
Bullshitkorner That's how you and Aubrey like everything eh 😜
Seems to work well , too bad it won't fit in tight places.
Automotive work not so good as you are limited by space but outside of that its petty good for $14. Cheers
one of our shops that I go to had a tool that only had a nylon spool and some locking piece....it was junk....... just give me regular wire ties and that's all I ask....otherwise you will ask about what is my problem....caz I'll let it be know on exactly I feel about it... ha ha
Love it Bill a spool of cable ties and you put it together - that's a wingwang setup forsure :)
She's working fine....who needs instructions anyway hah haa. I like those tie thingies and I think I should look for that cutter. Sure is much better than 500 one. Yeah would you test how it works with different size ties ? Why would anyone get the 500 one ? Why ? Seriously ? Anyway have a great weekend. Hubby is working overtime and I am going to do some trim sanding outside (I opened yet another can of worms you know where). We finally got nice not so freaking cold sunny day. I just can't get my half century old ass moving 😂😂👌👋
Half century eh 😅😅 you go girl and keep having fun opening cans of worms. ......
@@SteveRobReviews Heh heh Yeah, yeah it's true 😝. Oh boy buddy...this can was something else. I started it right before the holidays and I was so scared to tell hubby about it so I didn't let him know what I've done til after the holidays. So his year started with big old shock ooohh It's all gonna be okay...one day 😎🤘😃
is Justin taxing cable ties too????? 500 bucks is alot of PBR!!!..
Im ordering my yellow vest ' getting ready :) $34.50 a case of 24. 😅
I see a lot of tools I "need to get" until I see the price. Haha
Well Pat join the club it's expensive to play that's for sure. Cheers
Hey Steve...may I make a suggestion....one or two cups of coffee in the morning...not the whole pot...CHEERS buddy
LOL ok bud , good suggestion
Did you say Princess Auto and quality in the same sentence?.......HaHaHa
Good catch Bill - oops 😅😅
How much?
$8
blade in not centered but thats the scissor angle for easy cut.. so don't screw it :)
However it's designed it sure cuts well. Cheers 👍
Never thought any tools were needed for zip ties. That was their purpose :-)
The kicker is selling you the ties then the machine :)
you could buy 35.714 of the $14 one to the one $500 one lol
LOL and these do the job for a diyer - a pro would have a good chuckle at least.
Nothing wrong with some good crap! 😂
Yes bud there's a big difference between bad crap and good crap :)
That's my kind of cheap crap. Poke it in, give it a squeeze and bing, bang, bong it's sorted
Oh I get the reference HAHAHA
@@SteveRobReviews Did he say cheap trick?
MostlymoparIH 🤔 is that a Jersey reference 😂
@@SteveRobReviews No it's a band.
No cheap anything here. If you wanna trick you're gonna pay. And probably have to pay the magician two2.
That piece of crap seems to be just as good as the $500 dollar one lol
LOL its good crap EH :)
