- I built this Mid-century Modern Coffee Table out of walnut and cherry. It was a fun project and I learned a bit. Thanks for watching.

I fight with long miters in my hobbies. I like your biscuit approach.
Thanks 🙏!
Came out great. This is a much better quality piece than the store bought.
Thanks 🙏. Yes I believe you can produce much better quality than the store and also save a bit of money.
Beautiful work!
Thank you Natali!
Beautiful Paul! Hope you have a great year!
Hi Byron, thanks for watching, sir. Happy new year to you as well! Cheers, Paul
Absolutely beautiful! Happy New Year to you and your loved ones. Aunt Lori
Thank you so much Lori! Grace just sent me a picture of it in her apartment. It’s good to see her adult life coming together, including the furniture. 😄

Thank you for posting. Google translate tells me that you said "wow, it is magic". Thank you for your generous words. Cheers, Paul
Any reason you used biscuits rather than dominos loose for the miters?
Hi Seth, in this joint the biscuits add a bit of strength but the glue does most of the work. Dominos would have been fine as well, but I find biscuits to be a bit quicker. I use Dominos as a mortise and tenon replacement, but I'm ok with biscuits for alignment purposes.
What are the dimensions on this?
Sorry I don’t remember exactly.
How many boards and of what size did it take to make this?
Sorry I don’t remember the specifics.
Beautiful piece. Woodworking newbie here. Are you concerned about wood movement across the grain of the edge-jointed top panel? If not - can you please help me understand why? If so - can you please explain how the design will account for seasonal expansion and contraction?
Thank you. The panels will expand and contract seasonally. I’m not concerned because I have not done anything to interfere with the movement. All of the panels, top, bottom and sides, are moving together. If there was cross grain joinery it would cause problems, but there’s none of that happening here.
Awesome craftsmanship! It's just that the box is too high, the top is too narrow and the legs are too thick. But that's all personal taste in the end.
Well…thanks for watching
