After watching this video, I realized that I'm doing some of the tips already while driving. But never realized these actions are helping so much for safe driving. A big salute for your observations and making them as video tips for safe driving.
Hi Dane. I passed my test on Wednesday October 14 (Finglas) on my first attempt. Your videos are excellent and they helped me a lot. It was a pleasure supporting your work. Thank you.
I've been driving for a while (outside of Ireland mostly) and looks like a few of these habits come naturally! But then again, I think it's natural because I've had my father teach me all this when I was first learning. Good video!
I passed my test in the first attempt in Dun Laoghaire. Watching and following your videos along with a few other channels here really helped me along the journey.
Hi Dane. Beautiful morning here in Wexford. Even more beautiful when you just passed your Test! Thanks for the videos Dane. Honestly been invaluable. A donation will be coming soon
Great tips once again Dane, very informative. I have my licence over 2 years now and I still learn something new literally every day, I bet you are the same even with all your experiences
Not the brightest sparks on the auld bonfire has gone into my daily speech now :D . Good tips here on observation, Dane. Wexford looks like a bit of a nightmare to drive through.
😂😂 Cheers Darren! To be honest Wexford is not too bad but I'm probably saying that as someone who knows the town very well. There would be a few tricky junctions that are blind and quite a few narrow viking streets that shouldn't be 2 way. Like everywhere it has its ups and downs 😊
Hi Dane. I was wondering if you could make a video on advice and what to look for when buying your first car (on a budget.) a lot of us are young drivers
@@DaneTygheletsdrive Oh yeah I'm sure several of us would love that! I've seen a decent 2006 Honda Jazz with about 100,000 km for €1600 and it costs me €1900 to insure it with no claim bonus.
@@DaneTygheletsdrive About €280 to tax. Not too bad I'd say. I prefer Hondas, Toyotas and Suzukis because I've worked on them and they're generally cheap and easy to work on by yourself, without ever needed to go into to a repair shop.(I'm not a mechanic! But I've picked up the skill and I love working on cars) I've done a lot of research (ownership and maintenance costs for various models) past few months, do let me know if you need any of it if you're working on the video! This is however, only suitable to people willing to work on their own cars, who are unfortunately in the absolute minority.
Hi Dayne! have you any tips for someone doing a test in a area they didn't do their lessons in? due to the backlog I'm doing my test in an area I'm not overly familiar with, however I am a confident driver.
Concentrate, watch my videos, listen carefully to the directions of the tester and don't be afraid to ask him to repeat a direction, scan the road ahead and live in the present.
Since I have my driving test before your live stream on Saturday, I'd like to ask you a question. There's a single lane, which becomes two, before the lights. The right lane is for turn right only and the left lane is to go straight only. My question is, if the right lane is completely full of vehicles, is it okay for me to wait in the straight ahead lane (before the lane splits) and hold back traffic? This is especially a problem in rush hour and I often think about how I can handle this better.
I'm struggling to visualise the junction, normally it's best to not block the straight lane, try to keep right as much as possible before the lane splits. But it's difficult to answer because I haven't seen the junction.
@@DaneTygheletsdrive I understand! If you're okay with looking it up, it's 1 R828 on Google maps. Baker's corner, Rochestown Avenue. There's no space to move over to when the right lane is full and I need to turn right. Edit: this is the link! If it allows me to post it Baker's Corner Kill-O-The Grange Garda Station, Rochestown Ave, Kill of the Grange, Dublin (01) 280 7782 maps.app.goo.gl/F1QCvSvbUGXzRqq88
I had planned to rent the driving school car which is a fiesta.. (Airport driving school dublin) for my actual test. But recently got insured on my boyfriends car which is an older model fiesta.. any advice on whether u are better off use the car your using for your lessons... or the car your doing your own practice on for the actual test.
Sarah thank you for your support, regards the car you should use whatever car you feel most comfortable in. Usually I advise people to use their own car as they are more used to it from practicing 😊
Hi Diane, cause of the lockdown my driving lessons have stopped but my brothers take me out once a week now to practise but I'm really nervous and feel like my stomach is in my mouth. Do you think this will pass in time. Jst took 6 lessons with my driving instructor before Christmas nothing since. Any tips on calming my nerves. Thanks.
Don't start on difficult or busy roads, start with the basics by getting to know more about the cars controls such as wipers and lights. Then start off in a quiet car park before hitting the road. One step at a time.
Hi Dane, we all know that the driving test itself can be a bit nerve wrecking how would u approach driving in general on the day? In terms of maximising the speed limits.?
Hi Dane! My service light keeps coming on even though we can find nothing wrong and the garage has turned the light off twice now. I presume I will not be able to do the test if this light is on or comes on during the test?
Should be fine, if it's only reminding you of a service due then there's no problem. Depends on the tester though. If there was a problem with the airbag or the oil then that's a big issue. What does your instructor say about this warning light?

When looking around when driving. I got to look very hard to see what is happening? And how to react especially on where I'm going?
Hi Dane would be nice if you could put a video covering all blind spots in the left and right and which time to check them .regards abdel
That's a good idea for a future video, I'll keep it in mind.
Thx dane for that looking forward seeing that video

Correct
The council should put mirrors on poles for the blind junction, much like you'd see on a blind corner on a country road
Not a bad idea, but in the absence of mirrors then we must improvise.
@@DaneTygheletsdrive definitely great little tips. Love the videos
