Hi Dane, A couple of questions 1) One final look towards the left if turning right (with lots of head movements), and towards right if turning left- that is exactly what my instructor told me. But the tester graded me down saying he did not see me looking to the left (was a left turn) when turning left - he said but you looked right which is incorrect. 2) Checking blind spots while turning left or right by moving head sideways to the shoulder - graded me down 3)Meeting situations- car parked on the left side-and on coming cars but as I felt there was enough clearance space I proceeded - graded me down 4) Meeting situation again - different tester- Cars parked on either sides- bank opposite for 200 metres and oncoming traffic, I stopped/ yielded as I felt there was not enough room for 4 cars- graded me down as the tested felt there was enough space for 4 cars ….😢 5) Too much observations - different tester - closed junction with parked cars- tester told me only use your ‘peripheral vision’ which my instruction felt strange. 6) Roughly 12 metres from traffic lights on a 50km/hr road stretch, lights go amber/yellow- cars behind me didn’t stop as I felt it was unsafe- marked me down. 7) Road section speed limit is 50km/hr, but has ramps/humps every 150 or 200 metres- so I kept 20- 25 in 2nd gear -first time the tester graded me down that I did not progress by changing gears. 8) 2nd time with a different tester I shifted to 3rd gear and did roughly 30km/hr before lowering speed and shifting down to 2nd gear to clear the ramps, the tester marked me down saying you shouldn’t have done it as the ramps are there for a reason. Test centres- Raheny/ Killester - they have overlapping test routes and 90% of the roads are with ramps every 200 metres- only 10 percent js a road stretch where you could do a 50km/hr. Any advice ?!
So what if there are? You need to focus on the main road and not what's behind you. I don't know how some learners pick up these weird habits but if you do this on your test you will be failed very quickly.
