- Went from Clackmannan to invergarry to paddle the River Garry on Saturday morning , then headed down to Tarbert on Saturday for meal with the family at night then back home on sunday
414 miles in 3 days.

I have a 150cc vip scooter and so far the furthest I have gone so far is 72.9 miles and I only spent about $4 on gas and it is so much fun on one of these.

Did a 403 mile extended weekend last year on my Honda NC50 and loved it, even though I had 4-5 miles of hills I had to push up. Repeating it on slightly better models to trim some time on those same hills, I'll be so glad when I get up to the C50 (5th bike) and some power.
Christmas 2017 did my trip from Dorset to Derbyshire and back around 500 miles on my 1983 Suzuki roadie 125. Was as a good trip past the white Westbury horse, kids waving as a rode by.. Weather then was so mild. Didn't get cold one bit. Planning this summer 2020 to bring out my 1985 yamaha ms pogal from its 12 year storage to get it back on the road to test it on a run from the Derbyshire via b roads to dorset. Then later maybe ride in on the back roads of France to my friends house in Italy and back to dorset during early or late summer 2020. These b road adventurers take much planning on tiny engine mopeds since there is a ton of stuff to see and do between points a to b.
I've always had a sense of adventure. Have tent and wheels and willing to travel by my own independent means. This wrote written in early times before the Virus came the England
I just edited my message today in april. I wrote this just months back before lock down in April 2020. So this trip is somthing I shall plan to do in healther and happier times. I hope my covid infection which is efecting my lungs currently will leave my body to allow me complete my moped trip and tent dream in France in 2021. Lord please please release us from this world wide desease that is affecting so many of us. 😷

I did a 320 mile round trip to London a few days ago on my Peugeot citystar 125, couldn’t imagine doing it on a 50cc hats off to you,
i want to do a 75km trip on my 50cc moped, but I'm afraid of damaging the engine from overheat. I dont mind riding slow

I put 8,200k on my 2014 TaoTao 50 in the last 2 1/2 years on mountain roads. I do regular oil changes and valve adjustments but the Top end is getting a bit rattly. I suspect it's piston slap. It has 9,268k on it and It started burning a bit of oil at around 7,800k. Just bought a decent quality 80cc big bore kit for it. I will be rebuilding it this spring. Hopefully the 80cc kit gives it a bit more bottom end torque for hills because it is pretty darn slow on the steep hills that we have. lol I ride that little thing every chance I get.
Looks so serene and beautiful... What roads do you recommend using for such adventures? B-roads?

Man you have balls of steel going on such journey alone ona 50cc. Did it overheat? Did you have problems with being too slow and cars overtaking you all the time?
Engine never overheated
Went very well with no problems for whole trip.
After this trip I went on to do another long trip and after going flat out for over 100 miles no stoping the crankshaft snapped where the variator and belt is. Never saw any mopeds ever do that!
Anyways for cheep got a new engine and continued on to do many more miles with no problems.
Yeah , tired to avoid riding on busy roads at busy times. Had a few bad overtakes but most drivers were considerate and just sat behind me untill it was safe to overtake. Just pulled over every wee while to let traffic pass.
It was slow , but I guess that's half the joy of it.
Why balls? Tens of thousands of people ride bicycles all over the world at a much slower pace..
@@TC-yx1qtbecause a bicycle has much less things that can go wrong and in worse case scenario much lighter to carry or push

@Nba YoungBoy the shipping gets expensive. A small scooter like this is cheap, not really worth shipping something this small. Would also be easy to resell since ppl wouldn't have to pay much for it, could sell it to some kid

Got 80 miles per gallon and tank was around 7 Litres
Hi mate. I'm in Glasgow City centre, was thinking of getting one of these to get around as on low income and can't afford to get car, especially fuel, repairs & and insurance. I have a car licence issued before 2001 so can seemingly ride one of these without doing CBT. I am in my 40's weigh 15 and a half stone would that affect how fast the scooter would go or should I. Still be. Able to. Do. 30 easily. What would you suggest new Chinese scooter or branded. Say Honda second hand. From ebay and is a £30.00 helmet from Ebay/Amazon fine?
Yeah will still pull 30mph with youon it. Stick wirh Honda or Yamaha. Although they are slow youd be better getting a 90 or 125cc 4 stroke. Better on fuel and quicker
But the best helmet you can afford. Lots of good reviews out there for budget helmets
@@ewancampbell7212 the only thing mate is that I haven't done CBT to go up to 125cc but was thinking of the 50cc in the mean time just to buzz around on until I get the money together to go up a level. I use the bus at the moment so it would be handy having something outside that you can jump on if you need to get somewhere quickly and like today Bank Holidays etc when public transport is a bit not regular. What do you think a moped/helmet off of ebay, wise or would you avoid?
@@raymondmain3796 best thing to do is to go into a bike shop and try one on and get one that fits well.

This is cool. Too bad its illegal to go under the speed limit in America. I don't know anywhefe there would be a 400 mile stretch of 30 mph roads.
Use Google maps and select no highways, no toll roads (unless it's necessary) and your ALL SET... IT CAN BE DONE IN AMERICA! I go to Boston from Laconia, NH and it takes maybe 30mins to 1 hr longer than interstate 93!
BE SMART... USE GOOGLE MAPS! NEVER SAY ITS IMPOSSIBLE IN AMERICA!!!!

Every 100 miles or so had a wee stop
Ewan campbell so the scooter never overheated my engine overheats and shuts off after driving for like 50 minutes or so I think I had her on high rpms
@@tonysilva8222 Bike went over 6k miles full throttle long miles with no problems apart from 1 trip had done 200 miles pinned no stoppes and crankshaft snapped

Is this the 4 stroke 50cc engine e that the Chinese scooter company taotao stole/copied there engine from. I know that they did get it from Honda. I believe it's called a gy8 or a gy6 or something like that.
