      David, I’m just starting out and I really enjoy your videos and the way that you present them. My first purchase has been a Delta table saw the second has been an Incra Miter Express for it. I’m starting from scratch for the most part so any suggestions would certainly be appreciated. Thanks!

    Excellent video Dave, I am currently considering a kapex saw and this video was a wonderful resource in helping me clear some of the features on the 120 that are not on the 88. Excellent video, can't wait for the next episode!!!!!!!

    Love your channel David. The top reason I went with the Kapex was that bevel adjustment. It is just such a smooth process to get to the exact angle needed. Better than previously tightening and tapping the saw with my palm to get it where I wanted.

    This is absolutely the best video on the Kapex I've seen on UA-cam. I've had mine for a few months now and thought I knew everything about it and here you've introduced me to more of it's cool features. On the other hand now that I've seen your table and Systaner setup I think I have start all over again...

    I've just stumbled upon your review as I've never really paid much attention to Festool.
    I really must thank you and say that IMHO this was one of the best single tool reviews I've seen. It has been a toss up between the Makita LS1219L and the Dewalt DWS780. Now you've just dropped this monster saw on me. Decisions decisions 🤔
    Thank you for taking the time to produce such a well planned and informative review. Now all that's left is to hit that sub button.

    • @timcc001
      @timcc001 5 років тому

      I have owned the Makita LS1219L for 7 years. I cannot recommend buying this saw. The accuracy is poor and dust collects in the spring hinge area making it impossible for the blade guard to work properly.

    David, Great video on the Kapex 120. I have been looking at the Kapex saws for some time now and have come to realize that there is no other saw in it's class, I have had multiple types of saws in the past and have not ever had any of them come close to the quality and precision that the Kapex delivers. Thanks for the videos. I will be looking for more in the future.

    Hi Dave. Great video. I learned so much. I purchased my kapex today with all the fold away stand and wings. Just doing the fine tuning. Better check that laser. So far I'm so impressed. And WOW, it is quiet for this sort of machine! The quality of the cut blew me away. The dust extraction is awesome. Can't wait to use for a job. This is going to save me so much time. Love your vids. I have just got into the festool craze. With a ts55 and a ct26. Not cheap by any means but i must say its blown my mind and wish i had taken the plunge earlier.
    I am halfway through building a built in wardrobe and was really struggling with controlling tge chipout on the melamine.
    My god, the ts55 straight out of the box is doing factory edge cuts with the standard blade... every time.
    Your videos helped me jump into the festool world. Thank you. Will not be my last festool purchase!!

I really like your style.

      +David Stanton - No doubt it will. My 25 yr old Makita compound sliding miter saw was difficult to use with long projects. The UG cart and wings makes it capable, portable, accurate and safe. Except for being prone to pretty amazing kickback without the aux fence for compound miters. The Kapex is pretty amazing.

      North Wingnut Thanks. The station lets me put long lengths of timber on it without fear of anything falling off while I am docking g to length. Those little dust escape cut-outs on the stops work very well.

    Great review, thanks for taking the time to put it together. I am on the fence with this saw mostly be cause I have been reading about motor burnout issues (at least with the 120v) not sure if they are isolated or widespread, not sure how many have been sold but I would expect some failures. Thoughts, comments appreciated.

    A very good review David. Probably the best I've seen on the saw. You've talked me into it. I've been wanting to replace my 12" DEWALT sliding miter saw for some time. The Bosch Glide saw was in the running because I have several 12" blades and I hate to give up the cutting capacity of my DEWALT but I need a slider that takes up less room behind it. So I guess I will store the DEWALT until needed and get the Kapex 120. Your review made it an easy decision. Thanks.
    Ron

      All I can say is that mine works very well and is accurate. I hope yours performs the same.

      Also Ron. Be aware that mine is the 240 volt version, not the 110 volt. Is the 240 volt model available in the US and do you have any 240 outlets in you workshop?

    • @ronh9384
      @ronh9384 7 років тому

      David Stanton Hi Dave. Yes I do have some 240 outlets but don't think I can get a 240 unit here.

    Hey Dave, this is the first time I've ever commented on a video and I just wanted to say thank you for your time and effort. Because of you I'm now a proud owner of the kpex 120. On the other hand, I'm now £1k out of pocket🤪👍

      ***** You better stop watching my videos Matt. I just bought the Festool domino 700! I am in the fortunate position of all my children have left home, have their own families and all have a strong work ethic. All the money that was consumed for so many years by raising a family and paying off a home can now be channelled into toys for me.

      Yeah, my kid is 10 and I just got full custody of her so she is living with me now. Lol not many big toys for me in the near future until I get to PA school in two years. I'm a respiratory therapist currently so until then. 😀

      After being engaged for 10 years, completely renovated an apartment, built a house and had 2 children together. We're finally getting married. So I cant afford anything else than a lottery ticket :) I will have to plan Lewi's Shop 2.0 for a while (mostly copying your shop) :D

      You are following in my footsteps. My wife and I had 2 children and another on the way when we were married. ....a fair bit younger than you though, 4 children by the age of 24 and every one of them is a high achiever.

      We ate rice and worked very hard. My wife was my laborer on site and the children came with us when they were too young for school.
