Oh god, I'm so glad I"m not the only one. You know how often I've been watching something and been like "(gasp!) We have that wallpaper/flooring/chair/table/outfit in the Sims!"? WAY TOO OFTEN, is how often. :P (I'm also like "I now know that that's called wainscotting! And that's a spandrel!" etc.)
I'm so excited watching this like, "oh I used that item in the last build I made!" Haha the last build I did was an "abandoned" military base that was actually a post-apocalyptic survival farm and I used a TON of the Batuu build items

The fact that she’s says “most people recognize this from the movie and I’m recognizing it from the Sims 4” I only bought the Batuu pack because it was a replica of a small part of a Disney Park. When I was playing with the pack for the first time I was like “oh! I was there! Babe look we stood right there!” 😂😂

I went to a fair called the Big E and it was nuts to butts cause we stupidly went on a Saturday. I have diagnosed social anxiety and am actively in therapy for it. I hardly survived the day just holding onto my father's elbow and just going wherever he led me because I was too overwhelmed to make decisions. It's the kind of place where if you stand still you get washed away. Worse than Disney IMHO because the food was actually cheap so everyone had food and if you lifted your hand to scratch something you could knock over someones drink. But who am I kidding, I get nervous even when I'm in the grocery store and I need to walk by one other person because I feel like I'm invading their personal space.
The thing about Disney is that it isn't a social situation. You literally don't socialize with anyone outside your group even if you are a social person, you just have awkward encounters. The only people you actually have normal conversations or if you are social, might make friends with briefly are the staff. So I feel like it's worse.
You two are so adorable! Perfectly matched anxiety levels hahahha like two indoor cats who ventured out and are slowly discovering the backyard 😆 it is the cutest thing. Hope you had a great trip

Floridian tip: go to Disney in the middle of the week (when both southern AND up north schools are in session) because it's really relaxing and not as busy

When I was in high-school my family decided to take us out of school for a random week in April to go to Universal and it was so fun. We could pretty much walk onto every single ride
This is also true for Disneyland. I’m from Orange County, CA. Weekdays in fall and spring are best.

@@jessig8854 i think Kayla didn't recognize it because the scaling of the item in sims is much smaller like it's just about sim height but irl it towers over you
The one in the Sims is too large for most short wall height rooms. It’s pretty large. But probably not as large as the one IRL.
@@kathaai And James usually scales it down so that he can use it as a floor lamp by a chair. I think in game it's usually meant to be an outdoor lamp so it starts out taller than the Sims. (But frankly I've never seen it *used* except scaled down.)
The complete lowercase-ness of the title just really expresses how excited Kayak is about it.

As someone whose a cast member over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I always have chuckle every time I go to work and I think of Kayla. Haven’t played with Batuu in awhile but I’m fairly certain the CAS items are just copy paste of costumes for CMs who work over in galaxy’s edge. I also fear I’m gonna pronounce Batuu wrong when speaking to a guest because Kayla’s mispronouncing the land’s name is too much of a meme to me now.
Edit: so, my location at the park isn’t in galaxy’s edge. but I do know from when I’ve went park orientation when I first started working that the correct pronunciation we use in the parks is in fact ‘BAH-too’ and not ‘BUH-too’. It’s pronounced that way in the script for rise of the resistance. Also 105 minutes for rise of the resistance is close to the average wait time we get during peak visit season. However if the rise isn’t broke down the wait usually goes through pretty quick because the first half of the attraction is technically part of the line to get to the loading dock for the main portion of the ride.
Is it not pronounced "Bah-too"?

I literally did this last week when we went to Disney World. There would be some cool Star Wars thing and I'd just point and say "That's in Sims 4 Journey to Batuu." Then my cousin started saying things like "I can't believe the Sims got a whole theme park that's so cool", overall a hoot
it was so sweet & wholesome to see you in a vlog style. you are my comfort youtuber/streamer so seeing you in this vlog setting and just having a good time adventuring to disney with your spouse just filled my heart with joy 🥰

I did the rocking roller-coaster when I went and I was like 12 and I was laughing the whole time while everyone else my age was screaming and crying to get off lol. Always my favorite ride at Disney. Edit: I like this style of vlog video every now and then.

I went to Batuu this year for the first time! It was a surprise trip for my boyfriend so we ate lunch at Docking Bay 7. (Amazing! Highly recommend!) We had the kid's meal because kids meals are so much cheaper and you still get full from them.
We also went to Olga's Cantina. It's pretty much just a bar. We also made a droid at the droid factory. It's so amazing!
It made me want to get the Batuu pack for the Sims but there's nothing you can do there!
Also, Dan dying in the heat is me, as a Canadian who also moved to Florida, dying from Floridian heat.
That light you said “no” to is actually also in the Sims! lol I used to binge food tasting videos from Disney World before the pandemic, this made me nostalgic.

As a Floridian who has visited Disney too many times to count I really felt that preparation anxiety over which bag to take! And for any Disney trip I always take a reusable water bottle, snacks, wallet, phone w a ziploc bag to protect against water, sanitizer, sunglasses, hand lotion, and a thin sweater you can wrap around your waist because it gets freezing cold waiting indoors in those long lines.
This is literally one of my favorite videos on this channel. Kayla seems so much more relaxed and I really liked the flow of it. Those ride clips definitely unlocked some memories from when i lived in Orlando and my mom worked at Disney
Seeing the tower of terror is so heart breaking for me 😭😭

packing food was always key, and water bottles, ponchos for the rain that will come. sunscreen and hats/bandanas for the very hot sun that will also come. I don't blame you for being stressed, that was a lot of people! We went to Universal last year for a Harry Potter Christmas thing that we got to go in areas with limited people allowed and even that was quite overwhelming for me. I felt bad, I got SO exhausted so fast because of all the people draining me
