Anthony, thanks again for sharing these videos! I'm glad you took the time and had the foresight to document the people & places along Route 66. Since then, many of these people have passed away.....
+Delvin R Harbour I wish that I would have asked this old timer his name. I suppose if I went and poked around some of the other businesses near by, I could find out. It would be nice to memorialize him . Thanks for your support, Delvin. I am enjoying seeing these old videos again myself. It doesn't seem that 22 years have passed.
I forget his last name, but everyone locally called him Dirty Dan. My folks owned a Christmas there in NBS, and I live on 5 ac my dad sold me. I moved away in 1986, and never saw Dan again. I've known him since 1978. I'm sure he's gone now. He was quite the BS'r.
Michael, What was the name of the picture? In 1997 it still was in decent shape. It's falling apart now but thankfully a chain link fence around it will keep vandals at bay. Anthony Reichardt Santa Ana, California
Well, at least the dog on guard means that someone is there to watch over things. It would be nice to see that old gas station brought back to some of it's former glory. Anthony Reichardt Santa Ana, California

Hey Jack,
Thanks for your memory of 'Dirty Dan'. It really adds to the history of that old place.

I drive by this about 10 times a year. 30 years later, its still not being used for anything, fenced off and rotting.
Anthony, we shot a feature film at this gas station in 1997. It was a great location.
