      Thanks a lot to Joyce for this amazing masterclass! But I think that the student is not a soprano . May be she is the high mezzo and this kind of aria isn't sute for her.

    Hi everybody! Does anyone know what Joice means by "spinning"? I'm from Germany and I do understand the meaning of the word, but I am not familiar with it as a term for the technicalities of singing. Could somebody explain?

      When most people say "spin" they mean an even flow of air that results in a spinning sensation at the soft palate. Hope that helps!

      Watch at the end... she said "spin" is subdivision's tempo, active - light - energizing breath

    She has a beautiful, rich voice that is way too big for this aria/role!
