yeah mate, easy - you use a counter sunk routing bit. It has a straight end on it that sits in the original slot and you simply push it around. Only hard part is setting the depth - needs to be same height as the braid you're using - about 1/4" from memory. Just do a google search and you'll find a picture - countersink router bit slot car track

Can you explain how you did the second level of milling for the braids. How did you match up with the slot position?
