FYI I knew I'd have a few bonehead mistakes, so I listed them in the description as they pop up. I don't think they will detract from the video though :)
Not at all, I actually only even mentioned it because you had listed the other ones off! Thanks as always for taking the time to create fun, quality content!
I'm curious...What monsters are on this "forbidden monster" list you keep mentioning? I never heard of it. The ones you mentioned in this video make sense, considering they are final bosses, but you said there were 15 of them. Also I think you did good on this video.
I thought that missing Amatsu pic was a joke on how it was missing in the west for a while, and I will continue to see it as such. Great vid and get well soon!
It could be nice to see footage from the first Fatalis from the original monster hunter (ps2). Fatalis is obviously the first final boss in online monster hunter.
here are my top 5 Number 5: Missing File. I love the unique disappearance, mystery and location of the missing file, it really does feel like a true tehnical error I did not check on my video editing software. Every video editor's worst monster I guess!
Ganondorf Dragmire eh.. why would he go there? There isn’t anything to lure him over there now and the only fatalis dying of old age would be a white fatalis. Also I’m pretty sure that they are immortal anyways.
@@Haxzilog Forbidden to talk about. As you heard in the video, they aren't even talked about in marketing. It's a tradition only just now being broken. They're also forbidden in-universe, since they're the most dangerous class of Monsters around and the Hunter's Guild likes to keep them hush-hush so as to not create panic.
Man, seeing Dire Miralis again after so long just made me feel a blast from the past. I still remember being in awe of it as I played MH3U with my best friends from high school in his room on the big screen WiiU as two of us played along on our 3DSes. Glad to say that all these years later, we still come together for Monster Hunter and still have a rule that no matter how busy life gets for us, when it’s Monster Hunter we’ll MAKE time. I’d rather have no other hunting squad and I’m honestly crying while writing this. Man, I love this series so much. Thanks for being our #1 Monster Hunter resource for all these years too, GaijinHunter! Keep it up for many more years to come! ❤️
It's crazy how this series holds such a special place in our hearts. My buddy who got me into 3U and I still make time to play this series, along with a few others we've picked up among the journey. Keep on keepin on man
I played 3U after playing a crap ton of 4U but I'm surprised how much time I dumped into it. I got one of my internet friends into MH with 3U, and as it was my first time through in that game too I was super confused in the beginning. He was off and on with whether he liked the game or not but in the end we both made it through G rank. I then convinced him to get 4U on the 3DS and he immediately saw the improvements. But he kind of disappeared after that and I only saw him resurface briefly a couple of years ago but barely got a word in before he disappeared again. I'm sure he's fine though, he always had a spotty internet connection and fairly low income. As for 3U though I still have my Wii U and play it every now and then though the playerbase is greatly dwindling ever since I first started out. Going from 500 players average to less than 50.
Those were the days. From time to time, I still go see the hunting videos I made with my high school friends nearly a decade ago, where we had laughs, rage, salt and tears. :,)
Akantore's ecology video was so badass back in the day! Taking a gravios superbeam to the face and charging straight trough it really conveighed the raw power of the monster!
First gog fight Gog be like, "you can't defeat me!" Hunters: ready up 2 ballista 2 dragonator A cannon And a demolisher Gog: Flies Hunters: THIS BOI CAN FL- (carts)
I got a notification for this video and clicked I haven’t played monster hunter in 4 years and skipped on the new entries and because of this notification I know remember you and the community I think I’ll hop back in :)
Generations Ultimate and Iceborne are both amazing but different experiences. I'd give them both a try if you want to get back into the series. I find myself playing Iceborne more because it's newer but I always get the urge to go play more GU because I kind of finished it and then stopped and there's so much to do in that game.
@@UltravioletNomad EVERYTHING is "online only" in World to be honest, to the point they even removed the ability to pause the game even when playing solo, a thing that has been in the series for 15 years...
Man playing thru 4u was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. The music, the monsters, the community and of course the endgame was amazing.
@@fojisan2398 Fr omg, the best challenges I've ever had in monster hunter were learning how to solo gun the 140 gqs... they really force you to get better even if youre a vet of the series in a way that for the most part feels honest and not artificial difficulty (fuck ancient leshen) altho 140 shag magal and 140 stygian zin still really fuck my ass as a gunner i cant lie
My favorite is Dalamadur. I did that quest sooo many times and never got tired of it. The way it would literally tear through the stage as you were battling on it was so awesome. I had so many insanely cool moments as a result of that set-up. Even if A MAJORITY of the fights ended because the rest of the party couldn't pull off the superman jump when it did it's insta-kill beam, I still love that fight. I gotta give a shout out to Ukanlos though. It's really high up there for me as well. Just visually, the fact that you're fighting an entire mountain that can at any point decide to strike back is money. I reeeeeeeeallly hope they add Ukanlos to Iceborne. I was kinda hoping that they were going to pull a fast one and "Ukanlos" was going to be the reason for all the "Old everwyrm" stuff in the new game. I know a lot of people would've been let down, but I like the big guy so much that I would've popped off like mad.
Yeah tbh I'm somewhat surpised he's not on his top 5. Although I do find the monster terribly ugly (without his stone armor), it is magestic and has this divinity thing you mentionned
Ahtal-Ka is still my favorite final boss it just did everything right in my eyes. And the armor and weapons you get was the perfect reward allowing you to build it to your own satisfaction.
Spoiler warning timestamps! MHW (vanilla) final boss: starts at @10:30 Iceborne final boss: starts at @11:13 Gaijin's top five (no MHW spoilers): starts at @12:10
1. Ahtal-Ka - I don't know why, but I can't stop fighting her. lol So I guess she has to be my #1. 2. Gogmazios - You pretty much said everything, just a fun fight. Best moment being in the second phase where he goes apeshit with that beam of his. lol 3. Dalamadur - I think I just like his design more than anything, the battle was okay, though. But, a massive snake slithering all over the place, and I love how his face has some expression to it. 4. Ukanlos - Better than Akantor, he doesn't give me a headache, lol. Awesome music, too. 5. Dire Miralis - I never liked Alatreon, so, eh. But Dire Miralis felt like an epic fight to me, I started out with 3rd generation so seeing a towering Fatalis-like dragon stand up while on land was jaw-dropping to me. Honorable Mention. Nakarkos - BEST. DEATH ANIMATION. EVER.
Ahtal-Ka is pretty cool as far as I can see. Mind you World is my first, so its a novice view. And considering I love the "Where's my Dragonator" meme seeing it attack you with them is a slap in the face.
Having a story include Fatalis feels wrong imo. Unless it's set during the great war and you lose the final encounter or it's the final monster hunter game.
@@Ourolien Doesn't seem to be the case though. Fatalis doesn't even participate in the elder crossing, not even Crimson Fatalis who is the most nomadic of the three Fatali. If they were to introduce them it would be in a Minnegard expansion, set in the old world. Preferably as a quest you unlock after Killing 5 of every elder dragon and White After Killing 10 of every elder dragon.
@@Ourolien Fatalis may be attracted to the Everstream, he cannot die from old age. A Fatalis goes white after living for thousands of years. But, I can say that an Alatreon can show up in the New World to die. There is no lore stating that an Alatreon lives forever. Not to mention that it was on the original leak list.
I personally love Fatalis, his arena, concept, music and lore makes him all the more badass and awesome. Making him a traditional Dragon who uses hate more than anything to fight in a medieval style castle makes it all the more heroic for the Hunter, making like a knight in shining armour.
"Spoiler warning: I do talk about the final boss in Iceborne, so if you don't want to be spoiled about that, then watch this video at a later time." ... Well, see you next year then I guess
Yeah, before World I only ever did a little of 4U and got back into it before Iceborne dropped. Makes me so damn disappointed about the weapons even more. Lol. Hopefully the next big game features all unique weapons at at least top rarity. Really needs it, imo. Luckily MHW so far has a good foundation, so the next game is bound to be even better to be on par with what 4U had going for it content-wise.
Started in generations, after 470 hours and done most of the quests there I played 4u, it is way better than generations (story, some really good monsters and g rank). World is really good, but I miss some of the weapon design as well from the older games. but with how gameplaywise, graphics, ineractions and other content. I'll be looking forward to the future games as well
You're the man Mr. Hunter. I haven't played all titles, though I'm pretty much a 1st fleeter, so I appreciate your info/experience very much. The trips down memory lane as well as your work on current titles is quite valuable to me. Thanks for being you and much love from the Bx.
I would consider Kulve Taroth the "online" boss of World. It's not part of the story, has multiple phases, and has traps and other things to interact with as side objectives. It's also just like Atal in that it's gear overshadows the rest of the gear in the game.
"It's not part of the story", well that's the problem. Every online boss had more or less a build-up. Still, her fight is really good and she is more for me the "secret boss" or something like that of World (like White Fatalis, Shah Dalamadur, Bloodbath, Jhen Mohran subspecies...).
My favorite story boss is shagaru magala, MH4U was my first mh game and this monster is one of the reasons I kept playing every other game after it. And my favorite online boss is Gogmazios.
Gogmazios, Crimson Fatalis and Dalamadur have to be my favorite final bosses, I love the eerie feeling Shara Ishvalda gives you as the hunter though. Music wise my Fav has to be Dire Miralis, even though Crimson Fatalis, Dalamadur, Gogmazios, Shara Ishvalda and Atahl'ka are really close. Been a fan of your vids for quite some time now! Keep up the amazing and informative work! I'm excited for the upcoming content (: Happy hunting!
My favorite monster will always be lao shan lung, I remember seeing him the first time, me and my best friend were sooo hyped it was unbelievable the nostalgia and the memories as a kid, taking my PSP to school and doing all these hunts, devoting my life to this game without a clue about the game... we were figuring stuff out, what are armor buffs, how do they work, etc. it was so much fun not knowing anything, I miss those times Nowadays Monster Hunter games improved a lot and made things a lot easier, but I miss the old times were even in the beginning, if you wanted this iron katana, you had to go on and farm those ores and bugs and it really felt rewarding finally making the weapon you spend so much time gathering materials for maybe its just the nostalgia talking, but I prefer the PSP games over the newer games in that aspect
Me too, i still remember that time when i tried to figured out how to kill Tigrex with basic equipment, traps, bomb, flash... everything. Just because i didn't know that the quest's goal was just to collect popo tongue. A good old days.
I did notice an error with the Nakarkos section. The Mucus Status would trigger if the hunter evaded OR was hit by Nakarkos, and it wouldn't prevent you from moving, it'd function like Snowman or Mud, preventing you from using items (except cleansers) and attacking.
Amatsu has the best music and feel to me, especially when it gets enraged and everyone is running for their life trying not to get blasted by water or tornadoes.
It's the black dragons aka the dangerous first class monsters.. They're usually showed with "?" Icon Member : Fatalis trio, Alatreon, Dishufiroa, Dire Miralis and Merphistophelin.
@@aeroanosupremo Gore has a icon, his clasification is "???" because he doesn't fit in any category but is still possible to capture and doesn't drop Elder Dragon Blood (the reason why he is not an Elder), contrary to Shagaru (or any elder dragon in general) where you can't capture him and drops Elder Blood
Gore Magala is a juvenile Elder Dragon; so I'd wager to guess that it's stuck in an awkward limbo state. Were they're (the hunters guild, not Capcom) not sure if Gore should be classified as an elder dragon like its Adult Counterpart or a regular flying wyvern.
White Fatalis is not considered a "final online boss" either. In fact for many of these games you could still unlock secret monsters after the online final boss, I know it's confusing but that's how it went!
Amatsu is my favourite final boss. I only wish western players had more chances to experience him, his look, music, sound effects, atmosphere, are all probably my favourite in the series. I also really like Alatreon, Gogmazios, Ukanlos and Akantor. Also you forgot Yamatsukami, who, unless I’m mistaken, was the final boss of Monster Hunter 2.
Thanks for a great nostalgia trip Gaijin :) My top 5 online bosses: 1. Gogmazios - flat out awesome in every respect. 2. Alatreon - my 1st online boss & still the most intimidating monster I've faced in 9 years of hunting. The 1st time I beat it, I screamed so loud that the guy from the flat next door came round to see if I was ok! XD 3. Nakarkos - Wonderfully inventive concept & design, and the fight was huge amounts of fun solo in Prowler mode. btw Gaijin, your shared palico NayantaleX was a star player for that, thank you! 4. Dire Miralis - I played 3U between 4U & Gen, so had to solo the whole game. Taking this living volcano down 1st try is my most satisfying MH victory to date. 5. Amatsu - Only fought it a couple of times in Gen, but makes it into this list for the beautiful design alone. Disclaimer: Not played Gen U, so from what I've seen, Atal-Ka could well make it into this list if I ever do. Also yet to face Shara Ishvalda (got completely sidetracked by Grimalkin observations, trading & treasure hunts!), but I like the look of the little teasers I've let myself see.
I think my favorite out of all of these monsters has to be Amatsu. I still remember my first time fighting it. I reached phase 2 of the fight already having carted twice to his infamous tornado attack, knowing that if it went for another that could be the end of the quest. It was easily the most tense hunt for me in the series. Words can’t describe how I felt seeing the light pour into the arena as the storm faded away, signaling the end of an unforgettable hunt.
I remember when i first encountered dalamadur.... my friends were cheering me on and than wam!! A giant ass snakes comes into view. The whole house remembers only one thing: me screaming from the top of my lung " I BEAT A F***ING SNAKE DRAGON WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!".My parents think i'm autistic ever since
Shoutouts to Dalamadurs battle theme being this epic 4U main theme arrangement, really made it feel special. Not to mention its badass roar, so menacing.
Can we all just appreciate how FANTASTIC the Musical scores are for all these Monsters? Not one lacks that awe inspiring feeling that makes us feel so small in comparison.
White Fatalis. Few things were more bone chilling than seeing that Fatalis, the og death machine that made everyone nope out, had an ancestor that was still alive and kicking. The fact that it was essentially a giant "Sit the F*** down, Kirin" moment that could summon an area-filling lightning storm on command to the tune of ominous latin chanting, drums and chimes added the perfect blend of terror and mystique to the monster. Having the distinction of being the first monster that could leave the fighting arena and land on a perch hundreds of meters away before unleashing the aforementioned lightning storm on you was an unforgettable experience for me. It really was a sharp reminder of how very small and insignificant we hunters are in the grand scheme of things. It may have played much like its siblings, but the setting and design are by far my favourite in the series. Also, Gaijin, pls. 44,000 meters is 27.3 miles. No living Dalamadur that we faced was ever that huge. Maybe, *maybe* the skeleton that formed the Rotten Vale [since that one is at least 5-10 times the size of the ones we faced, judging by the skull in the area just out of Vaal Hazak's lair]. But not the living ones in the handheld games.
My favorite is definitely Amatsu. I think the fight is just amazing, and in my opinion it would fit perfectly in World/Iceborne. Especially now that we have the clutch claw, and flying monsters are not a big problem for melee fighters anymore.
I remember my first time attempting Amatsu (in Generations) I geared up for Wind Resistance only to learn that I didn't actually need it, Amatsu is surprisingly easy to hit for an airborne monster.
Shara ishvalda is probably my new favorite elder dragon. The way its eyes follow your camera is so creepy. Really hope amatsu or gore come back in iceborne though
surprised you didn't catch this mistake, crimson fatalis was introduced in MHG, not MH2. from my knowledge, it was also the final boss for MHG, as well as MH2, despite white fatalis being introduced the same game.
In my own opinion, I think he's cool but he gets to easy to quick but the first time I fought him was epic so he's definitely one of the better monsters... But I personally don't think that it can stand up to gog, with all the "gog our Lord and savior" memes aside. But that's just me and my friends and I can't wait for you to fight this thing yourself.
Shinji Dimasacat gog means the elder dragon Gogmazioz. He was introduced in MH4U and is one of the final endgame monsters. He is very similar to shara but it is a very different fight
Convergence of Fate, not confluence of fate :D Fun video, I'm glad I started in 4U, though I'm sad I missed the 3G boss. XX really did justice to be able to fight so many of the old bosses though.
That's pureely greeding for dps. Shara Ishvalda has so many attacks where he just stands around and charges somethingit is actually pretty damn easy when you are patient and focus on dodging until you get those openings. But i feel in World in general the community is greeding for that dps more than usual. You mostly see offensive builds which then get oneshot rather than having some defensive abilities that would help them survive.
The earliest MH game I've played was 3U on WiiU, but Akantor is by far my most favorite on this list. His design is awesome, his armor is awesome, his weapons are awesome, his theme is awesome, and most importantly: The sound he makes when you topple him or make him flinch is adorable!
"And you can see the horns used in all the weapon designs you can make from it" and that's why I hope MHW will never get Alatreon. I dont need another Boneblade with a black scar glued to it. xD fav Online Boss: Alatreon fav Elder Dragon: Ceadeus
@Senile Crocodile who says that Alatreon, if he ever joins the game, would be a single added monster? Add just to make clear in which side I stand: In my eyes they took a core element out of Game by simply copy pasting the weapons and Yeah I think they're lazy because they continue to create bone weapons with additional feathers, scales or claws clued to them.
@@zentron0 love those AOEs mah man 🙏 i actually died a few times to Shitten Dhisufiroa's third stage "ice spikes AOE" move... OH BTW FRONTIER WHITE FATALIS BESS FATALIS @GaijinHunter
Small correction; Crimson Fatalis was introduced in Monster Hunter G, and was the final boss of that game and Portable/Freedom (with White Fatalis being introduced in MH2, but from what I heard, he was Event Only, so Yama Tsukami functioned as the final boss), but still a great video that goes down the MH memory lane. My personal favorite is Dalamadur (the bigsnek of my first MH game), but I also liked Gog and Athal :)
I'll never forget the first time I beat Alatreon in MH3, my first MH game. Sometimes MH just throws something at you that's way above everything else you've fought and your gear will generally not be good enough and you need to prepare more than for most hunts. Alatreon was the first time I experienced that. My friends had all gotten stuck, most of them quit playing. I'd played the whole game with Lance and was just getting crushed by it, so I learned Sword and Shield from scratch, and built a new armour set, an Agnaktor mixset for GuardUp so I didn't get OHKO'd by jump-fireball. I tried dozens of times for week after week after week. I died less and less, and eventually just stopped dying, rarely getting hit, it was the first time I really learned a monster inside and out. But teammates kept triple carting. I started rolling in and blocking the fireballs with GuardUp to prevent the AOE from killing teammates. I lost count of the failed attempts. And then finally I beat it, on a team with three players who were all well over HR 200. Two of them died once each, my hands were shaking from adrenaline by the end, but we did it. I've never felt a rush like that from any other videogame, and it led me to pour another 300 hours into MH3, and then hundreds of hours more with each game in the series that has come since.
I still remember the first time I realized that you can edit your shoutouts. I was finally at Gogmazios with a group of other hunters, in the middle of the fight, one of them mounted Gogmazios, and as funny as that already looks, imagine my surprise when I see in the text box, "HUG ME B!TCH".
My absolute favorite and terrifying memory had always been Fatalis from MHF my greetings and i fought it hundreds of times but could never kill him, we had the strongest gear, could evade every hit and had a slew of perfect runs but we could never finish him off. He was that unmountable nemesis i finally defeated in the following game.
Being a crazy person who spammed every single final boss in the series just because I could, Dire Miralis and Ahtal Ka are my personal favourites. Miralis for me was an interesting fight overall, and I never did get bored of it, despite the ungodly clunky underwater system in 3U. And I don't think I need to say any more about Ahtal Ka than what you already said in the video. Unique, smart, and summons a GIANT FOCKING MECHA. (also she's really easy to predict and cheese with Valor LS, lul)
I never got to fight Amatsu, but it holds a place in my heart because back then (and still) I was VERY heavy into hunting. Enough that I was researching constantly, and knew about the dragon before its Western release. Since it never got its Western name until much later, I always called it by its Japanese (full) name Amatsumagatsuchi, and I'll never forget how excited I was to maybe one day fight it. Still haven't sadly. I wish Gaijin had added some tidbits about each monster to make the video more interesting, like how the Rotten Vale takes place on a giant Dalamadur corpse, how Gogmazios is made of gunpowder and swallowed a dragonator, and how iconic Fatalis really is, and how he was the true test of hunting back in the day. I understand videos can't go on forever and 15 minutes is "long" for Gaijin. Good video though and it sure brings back memories. I'll never not be a hunter.
Was fighting Gogmazios first time with a group of friends. About 2/3 of the fight... disconnection error. So was left all alone but still managed to beat it. After the hunt rejoined with my friends whose hunt was also succesful and many more hunts came after that ^^ Really showed that even if the odds turn against you then you can still succeed by giving it your all.
all of these final bosses were tough battles, some more, some less so than others. But..somehow, Gogmazios terrified me by far the most. The music just sounds like we're completely ducked, its explosions were terrifyingly large (is that a word? lol) and absurdly strong. There was no place to hide and his other attacks were also extremely huge. I think the part were he started flying and began lazering the entire map with is oilbeam of death was the final blow to traumatize me, lmao
My top 3: 1. Dalamadur - This guy is the pinnacle of good boss design, spent thousands of hours hunting him just for fun. 2. Alatreon - Only true hunters will remember the quest that came directly before it, yes that one, and the reward for said quest was to fight this incredible beast. 3. Dire Miralis - Ah, yes the under water fight that turned me from a boy hunter into a monster hunter, sink or swim baby!
I couldn’t pick the best, but I have a few thoughts concerning my favorite end-game monsters. Best Lore: Fatalis Fatalis is the closest thing MH has to a main villain. Generally speaking, MH has hesitated to attach much history to the other monsters of its world. Fatalis, on the other hand, was instrumental in shaping the world to its modern state. It single-handedly destroyed an entire civilization and sent humans and wyverians back to the Stone Age. It’s purported tendency to graft the armor of fallen hunters to its body is awesome and kind of creepy. The curse that befalls the hunters who slay it and where armor crafted from its hide is even more terrifying. Best Fight: Ahtal-Ka I always feel that MH has struggled to make raid-style, giant monster fights fun and interesting. Ahtal-Ka is by far the best example of it done right. The battle alternates between a more traditional, arena fight and an epic, boss-battle fight. She’s full of surprises and the monster and the mech modes are incredibly dynamic and fun. Ahtal-Ka is hands down one of the most unique and enjoyable monsters in the series and I hope they bring her back someday. Best Theme: Amatsu This monster has one of the best tracks in the series. Amatsu’s theme has this strange ability to make you feel several contradictory emotions at once. It perfectly harmonizes dread with awe in a rapturous symphony of eastern sound and music. There’s truly nothing else like it. The music, the sound design, and the visuals gives Amatsu a level of atmosphere that none can match.
my absolute favorite last boss of MH was Caedus. the Single player story in MH3U will always be my most nostalgic MH game. gotten to play it all the way through multiple times with my brother, and brother in law. the whole fight with Caedus was just epic, and everything i could of hoped for in a boss that made you utilize the game's water mechanics. I know that it wasn't very well received by many fans. but i for one fell in love with it. as it gave more room for more interesting sea life, and monsters to boot. sad to see it go. But my bearded whale bro will always be in my heart.
In terms of the list specifically for this video, I'd say top 5 are 5: Alatreon - Elemental switching is probably the most unique feature on the Elder and overall design is amazing but it goes into the last of the list because in terms of the overall execution of this Elder, the unique aspect of Elemental instability is the only unique feature for me. 4: Amatsu - Overall design of Amatsu is amazing that's why it's above Alatreon in my list and the fact that the fight affects the weather gives it an edge of actually feeling like a natural disaster in comparison to the elementally unstable Alatreon. Plus it looks majestic when floating 3: Ahtal-Ka - It's basically a mecha pilot. I mean really, whoever thought about a Neopteron manipulating debris around it like a robot did this endgame boss justice, I genuinely love it. 2: Dalamadur. Let's be honest, Dalamadur is just awesome. The fact that it even gets a representation in MHW despite not actually fighting it feels awesome. Plus it's an Elder that you can scale the body of. 1: Fatalis (All 3 of them) - I think out of all the endgame Elders, Fatalis still struck me as being my number one of the Elders. Outside of nostalgia, Fatalis overall is that one Elder Dragon that has 3 different versions and each one is unique in their own way and the contrast in capabilities between Fatalis, Crimson Fatalis and White Fatalis show that even though they are all related to one another, they aren't exactly gonna play out the same way in terms of how you prepare and fight them.
The coolest one and the most fun to fight with is Gogmazios for sure. Although, my personal favourite is Ukanlos. Its solid and bulky design make it seem like a moving fortress (even more so than Lao to me), and there's something about its face... It's not like the monsters can emote clearly, but you can still somewhat see some kind of expressions on their faces. However, Ukanlos just have this still face with blank eyes that's really unnerving. Just seeing that thing stares at you from afar already sends a chill down your spine. It's also my first online boss in the series, as well as the one I managed to beat solo back on the PSP, too. Also, its Great Sword looks absolutely amazing. Just a huge slab of icy scale with lots of spikes. It's so satisfying to slam this ridiculous chunk of a sword down on small monsters. XD
Akantor was the one who taught my hunter group how to prep, communicate and fight together like an actual team. So many bitter defeats but when we finally won it was a sweet victory I'll never forget.
My favorite is definitely gogmazios Love it's design, it's attacks, it's theme, and especially when it started flying for the first time, reminded me of when the red death first flew
FYI I knew I'd have a few bonehead mistakes, so I listed them in the description as they pop up. I don't think they will detract from the video though :)
Since frontier is getting killed off soon (Dec 18th of this year) can you make a video on it of some kind?
Not at all, I actually only even mentioned it because you had listed the other ones off! Thanks as always for taking the time to create fun, quality content!
I'm curious...What monsters are on this "forbidden monster" list you keep mentioning? I never heard of it. The ones you mentioned in this video make sense, considering they are final bosses, but you said there were 15 of them. Also I think you did good on this video.
I thought that missing Amatsu pic was a joke on how it was missing in the west for a while, and I will continue to see it as such.
Great vid and get well soon!

**bagpipes of despair**
Ah yes. Fatalis in World.
I cant be the only one thinking that capcom talking about one of their “forbidden” monsters is a sign for iceborne
Yeah I have no doubt Fatalis will be added.
Ganondorf Dragmire eh.. why would he go there? There isn’t anything to lure him over there now and the only fatalis dying of old age would be a white fatalis. Also I’m pretty sure that they are immortal anyways.
why do they call it forbidden ? its forbidden to what ?

Going from 500 players average to less than 50.
lol
Those were the days. From time to time, I still go see the hunting videos I made with my high school friends nearly a decade ago, where we had laughs, rage, salt and tears. :,)
Damn I wish I had friends in person that actually play monster Hunter 😭
Capcom thought Fatalis looked like a giant orange question mark, so they didn’t know how to make merchandise for it.
Akantore's ecology video was so badass back in the day! Taking a gravios superbeam to the face and charging straight trough it really conveighed the raw power of the monster!

Dalamadur is mega boring lol. Just a damage sponge. He does look great at least.
Dalamadur and Shara Ishvalda are my faves, they are so interesting and almost something like a “divinity”

1. Ahtal-Ka - I don't know why, but I can't stop fighting her. lol So I guess she has to be my #1.
2. Gogmazios - You pretty much said everything, just a fun fight. Best moment being in the second phase where he goes apeshit with that beam of his. lol

I hope Fatalis gets added in World. Such a missed opportunity to have elder dragon focused stories and NOT include him.
Boshwa he’ll probably be the last free update for Iceborne.
Having a story include Fatalis feels wrong imo.
Unless it's set during the great war and you lose the final encounter or it's the final monster hunter game.
its possible if Fatalis is also attracted to everstream
Fatalis isn't just the true final boss of World/Iceborne.
He's the final boss of the franchise.

Gogmazios is covered in oil...
Its time to deliver some FREEDOM to monster hunter!!!
White Fatalis was the final boss of dos. The final boss of G and Portable was Crimson Fatalis.
My favorite monster will always be lao shan lung, I remember seeing him the first time, me and my best friend were sooo hyped it was unbelievable
the nostalgia and the memories as a kid, taking my PSP to school and doing all these hunts, devoting my life to this game without a clue about the game... we were figuring stuff out, what are armor buffs, how do they work, etc.
it was so much fun not knowing anything, I miss those times
Nowadays Monster Hunter games improved a lot and made things a lot easier, but I miss the old times were even in the beginning, if you wanted this iron katana, you had to go on and farm those ores and bugs and it really felt rewarding finally making the weapon you spend so much time gathering materials for
maybe its just the nostalgia talking, but I prefer the PSP games over the newer games in that aspect
Me too, i still remember that time when i tried to figured out how to kill Tigrex with basic equipment, traps, bomb, flash... everything. Just because i didn't know that the quest's goal was just to collect popo tongue.
A good old days.
Same for me but with 3U (and a bit 4U).
I think it's more a matter of which game you started with, and only GU/W being that different.
I did notice an error with the Nakarkos section. The Mucus Status would trigger if the hunter evaded OR was hit by Nakarkos, and it wouldn't prevent you from moving, it'd function like Snowman or Mud, preventing you from using items (except cleansers) and attacking.
Dire Miralis would have to be my favourite out of all of them, Alatreon, Shara and Gogmazios are great as well
Amatsu has the best music and feel to me, especially when it gets enraged and everyone is running for their life trying not to get blasted by water or tornadoes.
Y love watching monster hunter content at 4am, totally worth it!! 😁

Could you make a video about this whole "forbidden monster" thing? I'd never heard of it.
I support the idea!
It's the black dragons aka the dangerous first class monsters..
They're usually showed with "?" Icon
Member : Fatalis trio, Alatreon, Dishufiroa, Dire Miralis and Merphistophelin.
@@glowmymindx isnt gore magala there too?
Crimson Fatalis was still the final boss for G and Portable.
Thanks for a great nostalgia trip Gaijin :) My top 5 online bosses:
1. Gogmazios - flat out awesome in every respect.
2. Alatreon - my 1st online boss & still the most intimidating monster I've faced in 9 years of hunting. The 1st time I beat it, I screamed so loud that the guy from the flat next door came round to see if I was ok! XD
I'm pretty sure Akantor's weapons is high raw, high affinity but bad sharpness.
(slaps myself, what a bonehead mistake. thanks!)
Ukanlos is high raw negative affinity and bad sharpness (One dot of blue).
I remember Akantor GS in MHFU having only yellow sharpness maximum, lol
But Akantor DB and CB are very good weapons...
@@felipeorellana5666 Yeah - Akantor weapons look so cool as-well
I think my favorite out of all of these monsters has to be Amatsu.

Tbh, I would like one of the MH Stories exclusive Elder Dragons to make an appearance as a fight in a mainline game at some point.
Spinoff monsters are extremely underrated. I'd love Nefu Garumudo and Eo Garudia from MH Explore to make an appearance in the mainline games.

It never was a problem for blademasters but he need to come back for Iceborne.

Marc LS its hard to get close with anything that isn’t the insect glaive when he sheds his rocky shell....

I can't play World so it warms my heart to see a Gaijin Hunter video that I can enjoy with everyone else 😁
You make great content man, keep it up.
Excellent list! Gogmazios and Dalamadur are really such great fights. The first time I saw Gogmazios fly, I was genuinely concerned.
Fatalis is now my favorite monster!
They did such a good job showing why he's the top of the food chain.
His flame breath is terrifying.

Commander: Where is MAH DRAGONATOR!? Ahtal-Ka: 9:50
That was a fun watch. As an old and grizzled MHFU vet it certainly was a walk down memory lane.
Was fighting Gogmazios first time with a group of friends. About 2/3 of the fight... disconnection error. So was left all alone but still managed to beat it. After the hunt rejoined with my friends whose hunt was also succesful and many more hunts came after that ^^
Really showed that even if the odds turn against you then you can still succeed by giving it your all.
all of these final bosses were tough battles, some more, some less so than others.
My top 3:
Best Lore: Fatalis
Fatalis is the closest thing MH has to a main villain.
Best Fight: Ahtal-Ka
I always feel that MH has struggled to make raid-style, giant monster fights fun and interesting.
Best Theme: Amatsu
This monster has one of the best tracks in the series.
In terms of the list specifically for this video, I'd say top 5 are
5: Alatreon - Elemental switching is probably the most unique feature on the Elder and overall design is amazing but it goes into the last of the list because in terms of the overall execution of this Elder, the unique aspect of Elemental instability is the only unique feature for me.
4: Amatsu - Overall design of Amatsu is amazing that's why it's above Alatreon in my list and the fact that the fight affects the weather gives it an edge of actually feeling like a natural disaster in comparison to the elementally unstable Alatreon. Plus it looks majestic when floating
3: Ahtal-Ka - It's basically a mecha pilot.
I got the shivers about Fatalis coming to world when the Seeker said that someday a man hunter could show up.
My favorite is definitely gogmazios
Love it's design, it's attacks, it's theme, and especially when it started flying for the first time, reminded me of when the red death first flew
