Thanks for a great video and discussion of the pros and cons. I really enjoyed the insight regarding the type of ball striker that would use the different irons. Would someone necessarily use the same shaft with different heads?

Thanks for the comment, Anthony! In our fitting process, we'll fit for the clubhead first and then fit for the shaft. So, in a true fitting, one of our fitters would first compare the clubheads using a shaft similar to what you currently play. Then, once the best clubhead model is identified, you would hit some shots with that clubhead and then different shafts. Both pieces are important!

I was definitely unprepared for how hard this dude hits the ball. BOMBS.

I watch a ton of reviews on clubs and a lot of the times guys don't gel together well but you guys are awesome and don't rattle on about unnecessary info. Great job.

Playing the s56 irons still ... love them. I210 and iblade may be next

The S56 irons are solid for sure! Those would be the two models from this test that would most compare to the S56.

I210 are the most consistent distance irons which is what you’re looking for from irons. I really enjoyed this video.

Thanks for watching! The i210s have been supremely consistent in all of our testing.

If I were to play a fitter looking at your numbers I would definitely suggest the iblades. Good dispersion, consistent carry numbers and less likely to get those hot flyers you would most likely get from the G410's from time to time.

Thanks for watching and commenting! Yes, the iBlades performed very well in this test and he likely agrees with you based on these numbers.

I have been playing the i210s for about 9 months and I am really enjoying them. May not have the feel of a Mizuno but still a great soft feel.
Would be interesting to see Thomas hitting the G710: 210-215 yards 7i?

thanks for the comment and for watching! We published a G710 irons test video earlier in 2020 and Thomas hit five shots with a G710 7-iron and four of them totaled over 200 yards. Carry was anywhere from 195-198.

as a former ping g30 player - that I never really took to despite wanting to and as a result am allergic to ping clubs good to see how different and developed the different irons are. I currently game the apex cf19 which I like and work well for me though must say at one point before these I loved the feel and workability of the Taylor made p760s. Of all the clubs and brands I have tried out and tested so far the best - but far too expensive- were the pxg gen 3 irons. Looks, feel and performance with the right shaft. Must say also that the right shaft is key too. I use graphite shafts and so fat the ones that seem to be good for me are the kbs max graphite shafts (at least in the pxg- in my apex I have the kbs graphite). Be interesting to see similar range comparisons of other brands like Callaway, Taylor made etc

Thanks for the comment! Definitely interesting looking at all the differences between both manufacturers and models. Lots of good choices out there, but they're all different!

    Nice review. Love G410.
To make it apple to apple, it will nice if Thomas and Drew do irons comparison with very close loft.
For instance irons comparison which their #7 iron have min loft 26 degree and max loft 27 degree.
Currently irons #7 with 27 loft are TM SIMmax OS, Callaway Epic Forged, Callaway Rogue X 20, TM M Gloire.
Likewise, irons #7 with 26 loft are Titleist T400, Yonex EZone GT, Yamaha INPRES UD+2.
So, there 6 irons comparison with very close loft. It is a real apple to apple irons comparison.
It is the best if Thomas do Trackman testing those six irons with steel shaft.

Thanks for watching! Yes, to truly test only performance differences the lofts would need to be the same across all models. We do think keeping the standard lofts paints an important part of the picture of why these clubs are so different. Each set is trying to deliver different advantages and disadvantages and the standard loft makeup helps illustrate that. With that said, we will certainly consider an iron test like the one you have mentioned in your comment!

I'd go with 5-GW on theG410 and call it a day. Dispersion was best with the G410s.

I'm interested to see where the i210, i500 and G410 go next. I play a smaller head iron now but am seriously considering the next G range for ease of use

Hi Ernie, thanks for the comment! If you're looking for ease of use, the G410 is superb, as you may have seen in the video. Straight, high ball flights!

@@2ndswing new releases likely in January. I'll hit them against the G410. If the same I'll pick up a set at a significant discount unless there is a discount on Ping I'm not aware of

2nd Swing Golf well I ordered them from a golfshop in Denmark, and that was tuesday the 30th. of june. Salesman told me 10 days, but then later found out Ping was out of stock of the grips. But however I can get the grips at the golfshop, but they still havent shipped the iron set. One of the reasons I chose Ping was also 10 days delevery, versus Titleist around 3 weeks... 😞

Just because the i500 looks cooler, it doesnt perform like a players iron. Its still a GI iron in performance, especially with the low spin. That makes the club less workable.

You need a golfer who doesn’t hit it as well, have him or her to test all of these clubs. That will really show the forgiveness level. Very much so when you get a noob the i500 and above.

Why was G700 or G710 not included in your test?

    • @2ndswing

Hi Thomas, thanks for watching! See the description of the video for info on the G710. This video was filmed prior to the release of the G710. You’ll find a link to our G710 test in the description. Thanks!

Yes, but...why test with someone who's swing speed is like an average tour player? These tests would be far more useful by someone with a driver swing speed around 95. Golfalot's Sophie Walker's swing speed is closer to many recreational players and her tests provide far more useful info, especially for spin rate and carry.

  • @mangelarsson7774

The tester moves a lot towards the ball during the downswing.

More spin on i210 than Iblade.

  • @mangelarsson7774
    @mangelarsson7774 4 роки тому +1

Less spin also with the Blueprints and thats why the accuracy suffered.
