I have been playing the Ping G710 for three months now and I love them. They are everything you could wish for. Even the black finish holds up well. You can hardly see any marks and I play three times a week. Great irons!
I really enjoyed this review. I recently purchased a set of g710’s with the regular ping awt shafts and they are the best irons I’ve ever played. Keep up the good work 👍
Great video, Andy. I tried the G410 before I bought my PXG 0211s. The only thing I didn't like was the big amount of offset. I wish PING made a low offset version. For people that draw the golfball, a lot of offset creates big misses to the left (for a righty).
Another great review. I prefer the G710, but as you said there is not much difference between the two clubs. When I am at my club next I will get the pro to tape up a G710 iron and have a go with it on the course, which is in my opinion the truest test. Great to see you back, please don’t leave it so long next time.
Thanks Andy, I took Pings out of my bag a couple of years ago and have regretted it ever since. Have been trying to decide between these two even on fitting I was not convinced. This helps me I’m going with the G410, not enough difference to overshadow the price. Really appreciate your review, take care.
Great video, thanks. A lot more interesting then the reviews by the pro's who go on endlesly about spin and the clubs hitting "too far". There is, for me, no such thing as hitting too far, lol. And as you have said, the ball stops on the green as well as one could expect. Great test for the average golfers like us! (I just had the G 710 fitted and played my first rounds. They are awesome!!)
I’m late to the party on the G710, I have struggled for 2 seasons with Mizuno JPX 919 hot metals, when they are good they are very good but there are far more bad rounds than good, to a point where I have absolutely no confidence in them. After lockdown I’m going to go for a fitting on the G710’s and see how that goes.
I have looked at ping clubs since first look I had of the eye irons. Bought a set o g max second hand 3 weeks ago glad I did ignore talk of looks they go land a stop love em next year 710s
Love the look of the course. Interesting video. Just bought a set of Ping Gmax irons as the local pro had a good deal. Played them once so far and they have been really good. Just need to reappraise my distances.
You need to get a cap on - that shiny dome is not for soaking up the sun! I play the i210s and I keep thinking about swapping my 5i for a 6i in the G710 although I would need to test on the course - I completely agree with you on the spin rate, far too much is placed on it
Hi Andy good to see you back out on the course filming blogs again ,may I say the course looks in cracking nick .I'm not sure about the looks of the g710s in my opinion the head looks far too big .Saying that I have not tried them yet to see how they fly in comparison to my mizuno 850 forged . Take care Andy and stay safe mate and I look forward to your next blog
I'd go for the G710's but for someone like me who literally polishes his clubs after every round I just couldn't bare to see the black finish getting scuffed up. What a view on that golf course too 😍
@@TheAverageGolfer I'm hoping to get on the course myself later this week. I managed to catch the "lergy" just as the lockdown ended, brilliant timing lol
Very fair review Andy. The G710 looks, to me, is far sexier, thus it gets the thumbs up...much like the new editing you have done on this review... well-done bud. Looking forward to more content now that you are finally getting out on the links!
Nice irons but would be perfect if they came with a black steel shaft option, I need the weight from the steel and don't have a fitter to go aftermarket shafts
I’ve got the G710 irons, I’m a 9 handicap golfer, I nearly went for the i500 but both have got the same feel for me & the dispersion was better with the G710. I can shape it keep it low & offers great forgiveness. It’s all about ego really if you buy this type of iron over a forged iron.
The Average Golfer no I was comparing the i500 to the g710 during my fitting. Nothing between them what so ever in feel, so I thought the only reason I would go for the i500 forged over the g710 would be my ego.
Only issue I can see with the 710's is the black finish. After heavy use I can't see it being maintained. Thanks for the review, interesting choices to be made
Cavity backs old fashioned.? Bought the 410 over 710, for all the reasons you mentioned. Really forgiving, higher ball, flight spin. Dont need the extra distance from the increased loft. You carrying two potters?
@@TheAverageGolfer Thanks I'm a subscriber since the old TeeUpLo days so know what you do. Enjoy the content was just intrigued what the putters were. :)
The Average Golfer I’ve got the G710, bought them the day they came out, still look amazing. I’m a 9 handicap & couldn’t believe the feel of the G710 & forgiveness. It was a no brainer to buy it. I originally planned to get the i500. No difference in feel. Looks great aswell. Looks like a players iron I think.
Thank you for .. I am kind of used to the larger size like the 710..Not sure I believe the claims of other club makers with small heads claiming forgiveness...
Nice to see you back ..making your kind of videos ..... I very pleased you didnt bombard us with some of the desperate feeling poor content some UA-cam channels put out while in lockdown.... I unsubbed from a couple because they were shown to be one trick ponies Well done to you for only putting out content when it was worth putting out I guess the only thing you may do differently in the future is try to build a large back catalogue for use when needed Great to be back 👍👍😁😁😁
A good friend of mine was fitted for G410s and he raved about them, unfortunately his handicap went up from 12 to 14 All the while he continued to rave about them ! Keep it up Andy I enjoy watching
100% on spin and the figure is when ball leaves the club face. By the time it's landing its nowhere near that figure. More deciding factors (I think) is land angle and condition of green ie soft or firm.

Nice to see you back again Andy. Great review in what looks like ideal conditions
Thanks John hope to see you soon
Great to have you back on the course Andy, love the new looking graphics for the iron test brilliant cheers Peter

Appreciate that feedback
Excellent point..Agreed alot of us ok golfers don't hit a 7 iron 180 to 200 yrds..or look at spin data...
Thanks Andy great review! Can’t wait to hit the golf shop and try these irons out. Have a great day!
Thanks Mike

Agree with the spin comment Andy. Forget what the number is on the bottom and pay attention to the loft.
Yes totally

Found a set of g710s (5-PW) only a few months old for $550. I'm excited to test them out
Why can't I ever find deals like that??!!

They do have a big profile but more in length than topline and as such not too bad on the eye
Always love the scenery in your outdoor videos Andy. Thanks for the review. Cheers!
Thank you Tim, I enjoy filming it
Good to see you back , looking forward to some course vlogs 👍
Yes soon!
Back on my old G700’s can’t beat them for distance.
Yes why not!

Nice clubs to polish tho!
Hi Andy. Long time no see. Good to see you back
Yes nice to be back
How would you say these feel compared to the wilson d7s?
Great review Andy ...and what a glorious day and venue!
Great to see you back on the Course Andy, great H2H review photography and production first class!👍

It would be great if you could Compare the performance of the G7 10 to the I 500 both similar in design but again how are they perform on the course?
New to your channel. Really enjoyed this comparison and looking forward to future content.
Hi, just came across your video. Can any of those be adjusted? Like change their lie angle? Or their specs are fixed out of the box?

Great video Andy great to have you back filming again👍those 710s look amazing🤪👍
Thank you Mark, they are a great looker
Great review thanks, love Conwy but only played the course 2/3 times.
Great place
Nice to see you back. Pal, looking forward to August, fingers crossed! 🤞
Yes should be good
Nice irons but would be perfect if they came with a black steel shaft option, I need the weight from the steel and don't have a fitter to go aftermarket shafts
Yes what a shame
Thanks Andy. Great informational video.
Thank you
Enjoyed the review Andy. I wonder how the black color would hold up.
Great review - looking forward to the next. Have missed the content 👍
Good to be back!
Welcome back Andy.

Another great video Andy. The G710 looks the business. Hope u had lots of sun cream on as it looked a gorgeous day, but where was the cap?
Thanks Joe, it was only 10am so not as hot as it looked
like to see a match up between Ping G710 verses PXG Gen 2 SGI irons.....love me some PXG....lol

So someone buys a Mizuno iron due to a preference to forged feel and that is down to ego? Not sure I follow the logic?
The Average Golfer no I was comparing the i500 to the g710 during my fitting. Nothing between them what so ever in feel, so I thought the only reason I would go for the i500 forged over the g710 would be my ego.

Could be Neil I am not too sure about that
Interesting point regarding spin numbers, totally agree 😉🏌️♂️⛳️🍻
Yes always had this opinion

The reference was to how they look Julian, I test golf clubs, there are 2 drivers in there also

Nice one Andy, love the look of G710 but do you think that look would quickly deteriorate as opposed to the chrome?
It is a possibility but honestly I dont know

710 all day!!!! Just ordered mine I'm a 12 handicap i can use the help.
What happened to the pxg comparison video?
Eric Myers unfortunately courses only opened in Wales last week Eric, we are getting there

Thank you Robin, yes I struggled with the odd attempt I did make to put something together so decided to sit tight until now.
What's the lofts on these clubs ? Good to see you back ?
sorry should have noted - 30 - G410 29.5 - G710
What an amazing looking place that conwy
It is superb Gary
When was this filmed
Over the past week John
I presume you live in wales

Yep I reckon so, whatever the science the reality is there for all to see
Music is great what is it ?
It is from a site which allows royalty free music, not really sure who it is
Nice to see you back And, put your hat on lad you will burn that bonce 😂👍
It was very early morning so not too bad
Now if Ping would only re-release the Eve 2 beryllium copper irons ...
That would be nice
blimey Conwy looks like Texas at the minute!
Yep it is dry out there
Not until they make black irons that stay black for at least 5 years. That being said, the G710 irons should've been silver, like it's predecessor.
I presume you live in Wales
The video is way to dark
Get PXG
ok
