Tekken hasn't been grounded in reality since 2002 with Tekken & even before then we had Ogre, Devil & Alex. How would that make Trejo fit in better than Akuma, Geese or, even from your point of view, Negan?

The woman dressed up as a guy to trick him, and he beat the crap out of her and her brother, I believe, and afterwards said that it doesn't matter if man or woman, if you start shit, you will get hit. Also, him never fighting women is not something Kiryu himself said, it's just something the previous producer said he won't do. I am pretty certain that if he encounters a woman who is a trained fighter and can dish it out, he will fight her.

In the Kiryu fight in Yakuza: Like a Dragon he won't target Saeko or Eri (the only female members of Ichiban's party), even if he counters them he deals no damage, so he's very against hitting women if it's not an accident. Majima is still up for grabs though as he's fine with cutting Saeko and Eri to bits in his and Saejima's tag boss battle.

Baki and Yujiro Hanma would be sick. They literally have a similar archetype to Jin and Kazuya. They’re also regarded as the strongest in the world in their anime verse so that would give some interesting intro dialogues

Honestly I'd prefer a non-brawler/fighting game character like Leon over someone like Tifa. Tifa is cool but I don't think she will add anything mechanically to the game that's not already there. A shotgun-wielding, roundhouse-kicking, suplexing Leon would be far more interesting.
Kiryu is honestly just perfect for a guest slot, especially with IW coming out at the same time as T8. Hell, T8's main gimmick is literally called the heat system, mirroring the same systems in Yakuza. And even if they still wanted to honor Nagoshi's wishes, you've still got so many characters to choose from. Think Majima, think Ichiban- hell, imagine Akiyama doing Y5 juggle combos in a completely different game

I know if a Virtua Fighter character was to appear in T8 its most likely going to be Akira cuz hes the face of VF and would draw the most exposure but personally the VF character I would love to see is Sarah. They could even poke fun at how her and Nina look similar and maybe Anna (if she returns) could reference it in an intro
It would be funny having everybody confuse her for Nina. Somebody else recommended Goh Hinokami, but I think your suggestion is actually a bit better, since nobody knows who he is. People would literally just think he was a Tekken original character, but the dialogue between her and Steve could be priceless.

I remember back when Lidia was announced for Tekken 7 Max spent a good chunk of his reaction thirsting for Tifa in Tekken almost more than reacting to the new character.
Terry in Tekken 8 and SF6 would be awesome, Tifa is also a great pick. Akuma is now canon in the Tekken universe, so a return from him would not be unwelcome with the new mechanics.

Tifa could become a true possibility if she's getting all the attention and huge conversations when FF7 Rebirth releases. The bigger and more known the better. It'll be lucrative for them and give exposure to a complete new audience to catch their interest. Same reason they put Negan in T7

Unironically, I want to see a Kamen Rider as a guest fighter, presumably one of the more hand to hand combat-focused Riders of the Showa Era. Negan proves characters from television aren't off the table, and Bandai Namco is already closely connected to the Kamen Rider brand.
I've been thinking the same thing lately. Would be awesome to see kamen rider in some way maybe even costumes for characters like a Kamen Rider Meteor suit for Law.
Genuinely, if they wanted to do a guest character from a show in the same way they did for Negan, I think Cobra Kai would be a brilliant place to go for that.

Tifa, Majima and Akira are the perfect immediate additions if you ask me. Everything else is more questionable but fun to imagine. Im kind of amused at the fact that no one throws mario, kirby or captain falcon for the sake of making tekken give something back to smash.

Honestly as much as I'd love Kiryu, Ichiban would make a ton of sense as a guest. He's the new protag of the franchise and his wacky fantasy RPG moves would make a great moveset
that's true but I think Kiryu is still much more popular and recognizable even by people who haven't played Yakuza plus his moveset could be almost entirely taken from the games while with Ichiban they have to make pretty much everything from scratch

Ryu and Kyo faced off in Capcom vs SNK, Mario and Sonic faced off in Smash Bros., it only makes sense to have Akira in as a guest character to reignite the Namco/Tekken vs Sega/Virtua Fighter rivalry. Also, there needs to be a Namco guest character in Tekken, specifically from Soul Calibur! We havent had that since Heihachi was a guest character in Soul Calibur 2!

There's so many characters that can fit in Tekken. Tifa might be the biggest elephant in the room but others like Kazuma Kiryu; Akira Yuki; Ryu Hayabusa; DOA Kasumi; Ryu; Chun Li; Cammy; Terry; Rock... There's tons of possibilities. But only Harada-san can make the move. He knows the guest characters where huge factor of Tekken 7 sales but he needs to choose wisely this time to seal the deal.
I need to see someone like Vergil or Nero in Tekken 8, the potential for either of the 2 would be insane. Just imagine keeping someome in the air with judgement cuts

Juri Han would be a great guest fighting game character. Naturly Tifa is the stand out option overall. Although if they wanted to embrace a weird side, tie in with WWE, though the Vince scandal, well the most recent one, would certainly harm that at the moment. Still with the Tekken videos Woods was putting out, including even having Lil Majin on for one of those, could be interesting depending on who they picked.
With the way Tekken 8 plays out, i really want to see The Mad Dog Majima get in to Tekken 8. They can add Kiryu too for the perfect rivalry intro scene.
Tifa, Kasumi or Hayabusa, Kazuma Kiryu and (it's never gonna happen, but) a Mortal Kombat kharacter of some kind, either Sub-Zero or Johnny Cage. Oh, and Terry Bogard, but he's practically a given.
Between Terry and Rock, I think Rock would fit more as a guest in Tekken, primarly because I see him the closest character wise, mostly with Jin in how he's a son of a main bad guy but was raised by a hero and he now has issues balancing good and evil parts of himself.
I know it would be weird but a Power Ranger / Sentai Ranger or Kamen Rider would be wild in Tekken 8. Even though I haven‘t watched Kamen Rider I kind of want someone from that show in the Game lol

I think Asura needs to be in the next Marvel vs Capcom game. I think for Tekken 8 Akuma should return but this time as Oni. Kazuya is at his most powerful with his true devil form and Akuma is at his most powerful with Oni and it keeps the demon theme intact

Hey, I kinda like Zell. He'd be the second best choice for an FF character if Tifa wouldn't make it in. I actually customized Lee in Tekken 7 to look like Zell, since they have very similar fighting stances.
As much as I would love Tifa as a guest character, SE could redo their own fighting game and actually utilize those characters that way. Even with crossover hype, having a remake to NT would be just as crazy imo.
During Tekken 7, Kiryu DLC was a dream guest fighter. Probably one of the most fitting characters for the Tekken franchise. Now though? Having both games come out on the same day, with this being assumedly the end of Kiryu’s story? There would be no better time for him to be included

Unironically, I want to see a Kamen Rider as a guest fighter, presumably one of the more hand to hand combat-focused Riders of the Showa Era. Negan proves characters from television aren't off the table, and Bandai Namco is already closely connected to the Kamen Rider brand.

Tifa, Majima and Akira are the perfect immediate additions if you ask me. Everything else is more questionable but fun to imagine. Im kind of amused at the fact that no one throws mario, kirby or captain falcon for the sake of making tekken give something back to smash.

Honestly as much as I'd love Kiryu, Ichiban would make a ton of sense as a guest. He's the new protag of the franchise and his wacky fantasy RPG moves would make a great moveset

Ryu and Kyo faced off in Capcom vs SNK, Mario and Sonic faced off in Smash Bros., it only makes sense to have Akira in as a guest character to reignite the Namco/Tekken vs Sega/Virtua Fighter rivalry.
Also, there needs to be a Namco guest character in Tekken, specifically from Soul Calibur! We havent had that since Heihachi was a guest character in Soul Calibur 2!

There's so many characters that can fit in Tekken. Tifa might be the biggest elephant in the room but others like Kazuma Kiryu; Akira Yuki; Ryu Hayabusa; DOA Kasumi; Ryu; Chun Li; Cammy; Terry; Rock...
There's tons of possibilities. But only Harada-san can make the move. He knows the guest characters where huge factor of Tekken 7 sales but he needs to choose wisely this time to seal the deal.
Keep in mind that Harada prefers to include _villains_ in Tekken, so likely it'd be their opposite antagonist characters for some of these.

Juri Han would be a great guest fighting game character. Naturly Tifa is the stand out option overall. Although if they wanted to embrace a weird side, tie in with WWE, though the Vince scandal, well the most recent one, would certainly harm that at the moment. Still with the Tekken videos Woods was putting out, including even having Lil Majin on for one of those, could be interesting depending on who they picked.
With the way Tekken 8 plays out, i really want to see The Mad Dog Majima get in to Tekken 8. They can add Kiryu too for the perfect rivalry intro scene.

Between Terry and Rock, I think Rock would fit more as a guest in Tekken, primarly because I see him the closest character wise, mostly with Jin in how he's a son of a main bad guy but was raised by a hero and he now has issues balancing good and evil parts of himself.

I think Asura needs to be in the next Marvel vs Capcom game. I think for Tekken 8 Akuma should return but this time as Oni. Kazuya is at his most powerful with his true devil form and Akuma is at his most powerful with Oni and it keeps the demon theme intact
