  • My oven stopped working so here I'll show you how I inspected it to see what was broken and then how I fixed it. You'll see how I tested the heating elements, the temperature sensor, and determined it was the control board. So instead of buying a new oven, I was able to fix it for the cost of a new control board and plastic overlay, which came in at about $200!
As with any electrical appliance, make sure to unplug it before taking it apart! Even then, some appliances can contain capacitors which could still shock you even after being unplugged.
Hope this DIY oven repair is helpful!

Nice, simple stove, easy to troubleshoot. Most of the problems with modern appliances are the electronic gizmos; the fewer of those you have, the less failures you'll have.

Indeed, I like the keep it simple philosophy. Too hard to tell what's going on in circuit boards.

"just take the panel off", 😂.
I'm so impressed! I wonder if a repairperson would fix it or recommend a new stove, 🤔.

I'm not an electrician, but I do work with high voltage and have to do a safety class every few years. You need to a hire an electrician to replace that receptacle and bring it up to code. Leaving it like that is a huge safety issue. Could cause a fire or electrocute the next person that unplugs that oven.

The burn marks are from when the face plate fell off and shorted across the plugs! 😮⚡😮 And yes, I'd like to secure it in the wall properly and screw the face plate on as it should have been in the first place.
