    I put a 20 liter gallon of filtered clean water on an angle, I leave it drips in a plate filled with small stones, fresh and cold water in summer

    I have a few "chicken waterers" that I throw some Himalayan salt in the water and the girls 🐝seem to love it. I find the bees also love bird baths. I put some rocks and a few sticks in them. (Not great swimmers, bees.)

      Sounds like your bees are probably very happy. Yes, not great swimmers. I've had a save a few in my time as a beekeeper. lol

    I just got ahold of the "bee rafts" and those float in 5 gal buckets, providing max efficiency liquid feeding. My bees are downing water with these things like crazy lately.

      @JCsBees  5 місяців тому

      I just use sticks or pieces of woods as floats. Hay works well too.

    For the colony with the banks frame, put an empty deep on a lid, and also a deep and medium on another lid.
    When you inspect, drop them into the appropriate box(s). Reverse to put back and shake remaining bees back in.
    There's a reason langstroth did what he did!

      @JCsBees  5 місяців тому

      Yeah, it's all the extra steps that are slowing down the inspections. I know it needs done this week though. Did you send me some cooler weather? It feels super nice outside this morning compared to the last 2 weeks. lol

    I remember as a kid, garden hose water was the best tasting water 😂 you just had to let it run for 30s to get it cold. Obviously, the bees concur 😅

    That microscope would be handy to have for checking mites, and if your bees are chewing on them

      @JCsBees  5 місяців тому +1

      I see a lot of uses for the microscope. Make sure to check out the video this week when it's released.

    What is the name of the mini microscope and the name of the frames you was talking about and where can I get them both of them?

    • @JCsBees
      @JCsBees  5 місяців тому

      I will be sharing a video on the microscope later this week, watch for it! As for the frames they are called Banks frames and you can purchase them at www.etsy.com/shop/Banksbarsysem?ref=seller-platform-mcnav

    Jason, can you post a link for the vevor microscope. I am looking for a dissenting microscope, and I wonder if this would work as one.
    I have a good microscope that I use to do nosema spore counts, but it will not work for tracheal mite directions.

      Hey Fred, I will share the link with you over on the community, I don't want to share it here until I release the video.

    Have u ever banked a mated queen over winter?? Is it possible? I'm in NE Ohio & I have an extra mated queen, trying to figure out what to do with her

    • @JCsBees
      @JCsBees  2 місяці тому +1

      No. I think it would be hard to overwinter banked queens. Are you attempting it?

    • @illumi-Nate
      @illumi-Nate 2 місяці тому +1

      @JCsBees I have 1 extra mated queen so I was going to try & get her thru the winter somehow
