  • I happened to have the Scout disassembled, so I figured I would show how easy it is to assemble.

    Thanks Tucker. I've never seen that done before.

    Well, I think that completely sells me on the SCOUT - for many reasons. One of them being that my car with a hitch installed (a 2012 Beetle) has a tendency to scrape the ground even with a basic bike mount, so I'm not sure if it can handle a hitch-mounted cargo carrier. I'm absolutely sold on the Vittorazzi Moster 185. The rest of the features on the SCOUT (too many to name) can't be ignored when comparing to the competition. I had originally assumed that the price differential between a cheapo motor+harness (BlackHawk 125 lite) and the SCOUT would be 6K or so... That's not the case. Yeah, the BlackHawk comes with a cheap beginner wing, and can be had for ~8K total, but the SCOUT with a wing can be purchased for ~11K. So, $3K for a much better motor, cage, harness, wing, bars, reliability, safety, etc ---- yes please. My life is worth $3K (I'd hope)

    Thanks for this Tucker. Could you explain your paramotor car rack, maybe even in another video. Does it mount straight onto the tow hitch? Is it purpose made for paramotors and can you buy them off the shelf? I'm in the UK and I've not seem them over here. Thanks buddy.

    What is the height of the dis-assembled frame like it is at the beginning of the video? I'm trying to determine if it will fit in the cargo bay of my van.

    Just noticed your seat straps to the frame are not crossed like suggested by Scout now. I know this is an older video. Do you cross them now or still have them straight?

    Do you have any recommendations for someone wanting to start out but doesn't want to spend the big bucks on a scout?

    I think if you put an Air Conception 280 Tornado engine to a Scout Carbon frame you would have a rocket ship!

    Tucker, do you always carry a reserve? How does it work in this case? Looks like it clips around your waist?

    • @TuckerGott
      @TuckerGott  7 років тому

      Yeah, I fly with a reserve 99% of the time. For this configuration, I run the reserve through my chest strap and clip the two load bearing 'risers' to my carabiners.

      Next summer maybe, winter is almost here and my motor is winterized. My cage is only 3 pieces (Kangook), so it doesn't take long to put together. BUT, I am thinking of changing to a Scout, the Enduro with hybrid bars. My main reason is acro, I have bent the swan neck arms on my Kangook. The hybrid bars on the Scout have webbing as the primary support and the bar as a spacer, similar to tandem spreader bars. It is a very strong design. Have you tried the hybrid yet?

    • @TuckerGott
      @TuckerGott  7 років тому +1

      Yes, I have flown the hybrids. They are INSANE for acro. Hands off, I could weight shift into a full wing over in 3 cycles, crazy. You do have to be careful with quick throttle changes, specifically on launch. The torque is much more present. You don't have to worry about bending the goosenecks though. As far as I know, no one has bent them and they have been tested to 15 g's. Also, be aware that the Enduro is much harder to assemble. If you disassemble your motor often, I would for sure recommend the Carbon. :)
