I hope in the full version they can add a tavern where you can sit in the corner and tell would be adventures that there's something terrible swimming in there waters.
Love this idea. Or just places they saw something weird, etc. so you can go explore different areas with purpose.

You lurk in the darkness as the car full of teens looking for fuel/directions pulls up, waiting for your moment to shine...
I've developed a real taste for Lovecraftian settings because they always have rich and detailed lore to dive into, and usually an element of mystery and exploration. Looks like this game ticks all those boxes, and is just straight up a well-made and enjoyable fishing game as well! Definitely going to keep an eye on this!

My man was literally rolling the corpses out of that bargain bin boat as Splat woke up on the dock and thought "Oh this is really convenient!"
this game looks cool. I'm not usually a fishing game person but this is definitely an interesting spin on it, and the style of the visuals is really nice

But I love how SCG can make me understand why people might love a game that is so totally not my thing.

A lot of Sunless Sea vibes, without having being built over on top of "card game" mechanics.
I tried so hard to like sunless Sea.

A navy friend of mine explained boat vs. ship. You can put a boat on a ship. You can't put a ship on a boat.
Orcas,, whales, elephants, crows and octopi are people. I don't like to harm people.
Splat stay out all night and sail to the edges, it gets pretty knarly out there. They did a great job with the panic

This! This is pretty much why youre the only game type channel i sub too. All those references you made for me are pure nostalgia. Disturbed water "get down with the sickness"; blue mackerel "if i was blue" and even this lil light of mine. Top quality!

A very strong atmosphere with what looks like a well tailored gameplay loop, this is going to steal so many nights away.
I checked the store page and seems like stuff gets pretty crazy later on, but you know what would be great, what if as you grow mad the town and the townspeople start to look mutated Darkest Dungeon style? and the price and offers of what you can get for your boat change with your state of mind and with the ancient artifacts that you discover?
Man that would be super rad!

Loved the casual "uhwahawahah" for Disturbed Water.
Had me at the whole Lovecraftian, they seem to be doing a good job at that "atmosphere" the weird fishing village with the odd people who some of whom probably are having "UN-natural congress with creatures of the depths".
Had this one on my wishlist for awhile, looks neat for sure

Me too, great fun! I did derp for a few seconds on how to pick up debris with the trawler... But love the Lovecraftian atmosphere. Sailing at night, and seeing that approach you out of the fog.... Good stuff!

I love the concept of this, and the art style and SFX really hit the atmospheric nail on the head. Sadly, I think I am far too jumpy to make it through the actual gameplay so I'll just have to hope people play it on UA-cam when it comes out so I can experience it vicariously instead.
Same. The panic meter kinda reminds me of Don't Starve. Will have to look into just how spoopy it is. I would've loved a laid back relaxed version a la Stardew Valley or something. Looking forward to one called Sail Forth.

Cthulhu gets a rash in sunlight, so that's why you gotta come in before the sun goes down!
Notice how none of these villagers ever seem to blink; sure it could just be the still portrait art style, or perhaps they're all really human-deep one hybrids!

Really been craving something like this for mobile tbh, something about the thought of curling up in bed with a lore-rich fishing game & some sunless sea vibes is uniquely appealing to me. Probably asking for a little much but one can dream, yeah? :')
You are right, sir. The difference between a ship and a boat is that a ship can carry and other boats. That is definitely not a ship.
