This game is about to blow up in 2024. I remember playing this years ago with my friends. Crazy how much content they've added and how much the game has changed, while still maintaining it's core identity.
"This game is about to blow up in 2024."
they added explosion traps?
@@vforwombat9915 in your pc yeah
For sure, the new UI is a GAMECHANGER too, it was really hard for me to get into the game because although I did understand what was going on I couldn't dare to put in the effort, and with many more guides available now it's much easier to get into.
The multiple addition was pure genius and I love it, now I can suffer with friends 😂
@@vforwombat9915 there are fire traps you can set up and a spell shooting block that can cast fireball... If that counts.
>You are starving! You feel faint
Splat: "I am a little bit hungry."
You can take KCD from the player, but you can't take the player from KCD
For future reference, you can burn up the cursed staves to raise your magic skill. They do get stuck to you once you wield them, but they get unequipped once they break. Just spam away!
Same thing with cursed throwables
I'm just getting a dopamine hit listening you speak so greatly of the game
Frfr
this game is nearly 10 year old, it's so cool to still see active support for it
I've got Sheridan added on steam, he's a really cool guy who when I first got the game and was struggling, after mentioning in the community forums, he shot me an add and played with me to teach me some things!
20/10 would recommend.
I bought this game a couple days ago. It's insanely fun, difficult, and deep.
Don't care + didn't ask

Do care + was wondering
Robin Hood was such a bro. Followed you without complaining and then died for you when you were in danger.
RIP Robin Hood.
Thank you for very quickly explaining mechanics as you run past things. I think this is the first video of you that I've seen and this is really nice. A lot of people would just scream "Omg Minotaur" and start rushing through all enthusiastic but not actually explaining anything about the game other than what's apparent
Oh wow they UI and inventory looks so good now. I had so much fun wit this game like 3 years ago, i guess its finally time to get back! Thanks again for the updatw video. Its so harf to keep track of all the indie games and their uodate cycles. Your a true blessing my dude!
HELL YES BARONY! Dude one of the few games that give me both that old school feel plus the idea that there's so much more to do with it potentially
The game needs more exposure. I have been playing it recently as well and man there were lots of changes compared to early version. Also it's crazy how few people actually did any achievements. 1.2% escaped Citadel as Succubus. Jesus..
Bought that game years ago, found it to be lacking
Now it looks really good
!
to be fair game is pretty gd difficult ive made it to zone 2 or 3 with the succubus
I'm pretty sure Succubus is DLC content, though. And also yeah the game is pretty difficult (got it a while ago but got back into it recently aswell).
Well uhh it's dlc
I picked this up and all the extra content a little while back for something to play on the Steam Deck. Haven't dug in quite yet but you did a really good job hyping it up, so I know what I'm playing this weekend.
Bought Barony when Splat covered it first and it is the gift that keeps on giving since then
Digging the ultima underworld inspired textures
"Bury me with my money..."
Holy shit, I never thought I would find another Sunset Riders fan! My friends and I spent many weekends in the arcade playing that game.
Hasta-La-Bye-Bye!
"unless you're into the strokey chokey to get the blood flowing" 🤣
This game is also brilliant in co-op, and the way some characters seem to interact with each other's abilities can be cool.
im very glad I found this video! thanks for showing me a great little throwback to Ultima Underworld! ima get this now for sure!
You got me hooked on this the last time you covered it, thanks man!
If you find a cursed staff you can put it on and just use it till it breaks to level up your magic.
Huh?
@@Loquacious_JacksonUsing staffs levels up Magic stat, cursed items cannot be unequiped, BUT if you equip a cursed staff and use it until it breaks it will level up your magic stat and it will automaticly unequip itself when it breaks.

@@abberss lmao
tip for anyone play a Human Wanderer they have many skills to help survival and will make getting used to mechanics easier. Focus on hitting mobs and then backing up to avoid their hits and you can also block with torchs. Enjoy!
Human wanderer is the actual best noob class.
Not so good at combat that you get conditioned to be a bump warrior, but not so bad a beginner can't fight effectively.
I would like to submit skeleton rogue for great noob combos.
When you don't have to eat you can really take your time to sneak around and pick up all the shinies plus you are immune to fire, which was my biggest run ender early on
You can block with tourchs!!!!
I remember the first time I entered the „gnome zone“ and I was really scared but luckily I had a magic reflection amulet which helped me survive the worst down there
Incredible game. Play ninja, save throwing weapons, go gnome and spam spells until you’re broken op. Then you can do 100% of content. 10/10 indie game
Say what? Switch to gnome after?
@@ryanpongracz8051When you are playing, on second floor there is a secret floor called Gnome Mines where there are many gnomes, a lot of them have staffs which you can use to level up your magic very easily
@ryanpongracz8051 you can be a ninja gnome
Thanks for the video! It looks so interesting that I just bought the game plus the DLC. Looking forward to diving in.
found out that the hunter with the special blindfolds can see ''chests'' if its indeed not just a chest trough walls.
Literally never seen one of your videos before this one and damn I want this game now so thanks.
Never heard of this game before, but you made me want to try it. Looks loads of fun.
This game really is a gem. Been playing it for 50 hours with a buddy now. I wonder how it only got so few players. The reddit is dead. I hope some new players are trying it this year!
my buddy and I are about to dive in for the first time
their discord is way more active than the subreddit
Got this one a while back and meant to revisit it. Thanks for the look!
I’m sold. Great job. I was shopping for a new grind.
I'm surprised I never heard about this game, it's exactly what I love! Thanks for the vid, Steam just finished downloading :)
Thank you for reminding me of this game. I bought this a long time ago, played it a bit and forgot about it.
So great to see this game is still getting updates and people are still talking about it
The games you be talking so happily through be having me crying in laughter. 😂😂😂
Barony is one of the best co-op experiences online rn. It's so fun
My favorite part is when he says hes gonna loot a bunch of stuff and then sell it to the shop. Then proceeds to literally drop everything on the ground.
+1 for the “Bury me with my money” reference 😂
thank you for reminding me i own this game. hell i got it due to your first video on this game lol
It's crazy to think I purchased this game on a whim, a few years ago for a dollar, the game has really come a long way and I've since purchased the DLC to support the devs! :)
This game rocks, been playing it with my buddies for years. So glad it's getting love.
the automaton is the dungeonering group's trashcan. it eats all of the scrap and when that runs low can even get by with rocks.
absolutely love this game, only found it because of my love for delver (another first person dungeon crawler). somehow both are underrated and i hope that if barony gets more coverage we get more action fps dungeon crawlers!
A lovely wee game, I appreciate the update on it.
Most definitely ganna grab this one up. Thank you for bringing it to my attention😊
I been playing this game way too much recently, got to know it through you.
Daggerfall is one of my comfort games that i love spending hours in, crawling through dungeons. This game scratches that itch while presenting so many ways to get through a dungeon. Im obssessed with this game
Im so glad this video had so many views. Im hoping this game continues to get support and updates even after dlc 3.
wait- this is AMAZING! i need to play this-hopefully it’s on Steam
As an old gamer, this one reminds me a lot Ultima Underworld
Played this with friends a year ago and it was a blast but we felt like we had seen most of what it had to offer after a few runs. Will have to give it another shot.
I've bought more indie games since I discovered your channel than I ever did before. You rock, bud. Peace~
I played Barony back in 2022, I died like 20 times before I even got past the 5th level and never really gave it a chance since I hate unforgiving games but huh I might pick it up again.
When you were looking for the mimic to kill and going down the corridors and turned and Robin Hood ran right past you full sprint, that shit scared me lol😂
This game is great with other players. I usually turn off traps and the mino. If my friends and I make it to the gnome level and it goes well, it puts us on a direct path to victory.
First time seeing this and man does is give me early childhood nostalgia for Delver
Oh shit. Been playing this since a few months after it was available. Havent played in a couple of years, but i look so so forward to trying all this new stuff
First of all thanks for the content...
And the request, as you cover indie games, Last Epoch is about to release its 1.0 in 3 weeks and has been making waves.
I know it might not be your style but since you cover indie games and LE is a very successful indie game story i thought it might deserve some of your time.
My friends and I love doing random runs, so much fun
Hey, SplatterCat... idk if you have any control or influence over this, but the game link under the description is showing Minecraft for some reason instead of Barony.
woahhh very good game, gameplay🔥🔥 ill try this
Yoooo, I think I lost this game or it was dream but u made my day(birthday) lol.
Sweet baronry looks really fun
I've been playing it for years and it just keeps getting better and better. Awesome game :)
If there's a game that deserves to become super popular it's Barony.
So many memorable moments when I played it with my group, it gives those cozy 90s RPGs feels I crave so much.
10mins into the video; the gameplay really reminded me of Ultima Underworld. A much improved Ultima Underworld. Definitely interested.
just bought the game because of this vid, it seems pretty fun
Got into Barony about two years ago, have a decent number of hours at about 150 and have gotten quite a few people into it as well. As of the last 3-4 months we have pretty much permanently swapped over to hardcore difficulty due being experienced enough to not find difficulty in base game.
In my experience I would say you should always go to every secret level unlike what is said at 12:28. Same as many other video games that get progressively harder ie RoR2. You should basically always go for the riskiest/hardest challenge, especially if your run is bad. Its better to save time and play risky for potential major gains rather than slowly falling further and further behind until you inevitably die an hour later.
That being said new players should probably play for 3-5 hours before seriously considering gnome level. By all means have fun exploring, but don't go in expecting to smoke the place. It will take a lot of deaths combined with trail and error, but once you get comfortable clearing gnome level your runs will be far stronger and smoother.
This game looks amazing!
Got this game on humble bundle with like 10 other games for 12 bucks so this is awesome!
Omg I was lookin for this game but forgot wat it was called thank you
The UI looks so different compared to when I played it years ago - Also brother only took a breath at 12 mins xd regurgitating the good info
kinda sucks that enemies don't react to being hit, combat feedback is extremely important for melee games
Dude I love what they did with the UI
This game is awesome, I've seen multiplayer and I love it alot, first it can be a fun dungeon crawler and later it can be a horror game with some ways to fight back
My dream game in this general genre would be a mix of Barony and Noita - like, Barony, but with Noita physics.
You may still use cursed staffes to level up your magic and casting, Just spam it till it breaks and you are free
this game is easily my favourite
Fyi i havent seen anyone mention but you can use magic staves to level up casting and such you just need to use it till it breaks to remove it so you can spam most you find that you dont need just to get levels :)
It's good to see that this game is still going strong so long after launch! Not quite my jam, but I respect all the cool little touches here 🙂
I've been seeing Steam friends play this on and off over the years, it was interesting but not really on my radar, until this video! They added 4 player local coop!
the automaton can also eat rocks, it cant bring ur furnace into the blue but its great sustenance
This is one of those games that I love even though I suck at it..
Damn, I will get it, crazy how it went under my radar
getting good at this game is insanely satisfying. I have a special cheese that I am very hesitant to share with you guys...
Yeah Barony is one of them games that I really wish had more settings for difficulty or a progression system....I get it they want to make a balls to the walls hard game but I found it very frustrating I get it's real life skill based but some people have a low real life skill cap....anyway does not matter devs have been clear that they don't want to make the game more accessible to more casual players and that is their right.
Played back in days before races DLC, didn't know they kept updatingit, should try to drag in friends into it
boulders are not actually a 1 shot they just do a crazy amount of damage. if you have a lot of health and armor or are high level you can tank them (though i very much don't recommend it). the minotaur is the same but since it can just keep hitting you it may as well be.
Love this game, one of my faves too
“ strokey chokey” lol
I wish for this, but with more modern fighting , UI and really modern graphics.
Barony is so much fun!
The boulder deals 80 dmg so later someone from tankier class can actually survive being hit by it. Also a useless tip: minotaur can be killed if you are strong enough. (I was able to do it with monk 18lvl)
It's also always worth waiting until the very last possible second to leave in a Minotaur level because there's a small chance that the Zapp Brigade will show up before it spawns. They all spawn at the starting location (where the minotaur spawns) and about 20 guys show up all wearing high level gear and wielding lightning staffs. They will demolish the minotaur for you, and several of them will inevitably be smashed, giving you access to all that sweet sweet gear. Also, you can recruit them just like any other human if you're playing a race that is friendly to humans.
I bought this back in 2017 and didn't play it much because PUBG was consuming my life. Definitely need to revisit it!
This 3D graphic blocked in Pixels is a charm in itself for me and a charm that calls for addiction.
Looks very similar to true roguelike games like pathos. That game is also very fun to play - especially since thats free.
Apex Dangle is a fantastic name.
I heard “le bronze mace” 😂😂
Reminds me of Ultima Underworld ❤
Watched you stream this last night it was cool, i definitely want to try this title out wwhen i get some spare Eddie's 😅
