I've had the privilege to see Mark Wills 3 times. Once at the Kinney Store in Kinney Texas right in front of the stage. I filmed the whole 2 hour concert and was even recognized by Mark for doing so. Mark Wills has been a part of my life ever since the early 90's. His music speaks to everyone who hears it's soul.
I wish I knew Mark Wills so I could thank him. I found myself this evening letting go of a very painful past couple of years regarding my elderly Parents while I go through their/my things. I've loved this song for a long time, but never found myself crying over it. In fact, I always laughed about it (in a good way). But tonight, and this week after some major transition in my life getting past a very very dark time in my life that has spanned several years with Alzheimer's and legal issues by people who need to just stay out of people's lives, I found myself reminiscing and this song really busted my emotions open unexpectedly. I don't cry. Really never have since I was a tiny kid. Always put on the straight face, but I lost it tonight. Thanks @MarkWills for writing/producing/performing this song!
I was born in ‘95 and I heard this song growing up and yearned for an experience that I’ll never know. Y’all really got to experience the absolute crest of American civilization and many of my generation will forever envy the lives that you guys got to live. 🥲
I was born in 2001 and I wake up everyday wishing that it was 1970 or 1980 something and I had a chance to live like they did. It actually affects me everyday. sometimes I wish it didn’t because it gets in the way of me living my current life to the fullest. But I just can’t help it sometimes. It physically hurts.
@@tiaschofield8348 I grew up in just like the video. Even still have some the things in video. Yeah, it was great. No cell.😢 But life goes on. Get out and enjoy life, don’t get stuck in a virtual world..
I was born in 1970 and this song brings so many memories. Getting up early on saturday mornings and watching all the great cartoons and spending the evenings playing in the woods and fields around our farm. Like the song says i would not trade those days for anything.
I’d love to be a ‘70s and ‘80s kid like several of my cousins, my stepbrother and stepsister. But everything in God’s timing. I was an ‘80s and ‘90s kid and I share some of these memories. Dealing with responsibilities and rarely seeing family that I grew up with “makes me wish sometimes” that it was 1980 something! God bless!
In 1980 I was a 13 year old eighth grader. 3650 days later, as the decade dwindled to a close, I had just secured my first job post college graduation, sporting my new (Cheesy) 1989 Candy Apple Red Camaro RS with matching mag wheels, had an apartment, a pretty college sweetheart and a slew of college buddies. So my experience living the 80's have defined who I am. In 2003, I was going through a sudden and unexpected divorce when this song popped on my car radio on night while driving home after trying to drown my sorrows at a local joint. Three lines in to the tune I began to cry so hard, that I had to pull over to the shoulder of the road. This song, that for most people of my generation should have been one of the happiest, left me- that night- so pathetically lonely and so distant from those happy times, then just a few years back. Now, all these years later, I feel a bit silly about crying to such a great but cheesy song. I guess that country music for ya.
Tomorrow, I turn 50. Although I was born in 64, I was raised in the 70's and 80's. I have never been one to boo-hoo about time gone by, growing up in my family wasn't anything I've missed. But I now realize how very much I miss my friends. Hanging out with them is what saved my life. I do miss the 70's, and the 80's: more than I ever knew.
This song just popped up , I am in my car crying and thinking just how wonderful it was and understanding everything in this song . Born in 71 , I wouldn’t change a damn thing about my life from back then
Have loved this song since it came out, having been born in 1967 totally my life in a song!!! Remember the neighbor in our apartment crying when Elvis died (she was a fanatic). And was standing in the middle of Main Street in Leesburg, FL when the shuttle went up, had the tv blasting so I could hear the countdown and when it exploded I freaked as I knew it was not to do that. Very impactful song for sure. The kids today just wouldn't understand.
I was born in 86' so some of these references resonate with me. Played pacman at the arcade. I had a Stretch Armstrong. Had rubix cube. Watched MTV. Went to the skating rink. Miss those so-called simpler times when my parents would just drop me and my brother at the arcade without any concern. Going to the movies every Christmas Eve as a family. Feels like a lifetime ago.

I was born in 1968 and I turned 49 on August 30th. This song and video brings back some very special memories for me. I have some very special memories from the 70's as a little girl watching reruns of The Partridge Family and thinking David Cassidy was really cute, (and I'm still a fan!) watching The Brady Bunch, I Dream Of Jeannie, Gilligan's Island, Love, American Style, and other shows from the 60's and 70's. I also had crushes on Barry Williams, Henry Winkler, and John Travolta. In the 80's when I was a teenager, I developed a huge crush on Bruce Boxleitner when he was on a show called, Scarecrow and Mrs. King. I also have fond memories of the clothing styles, hairstyles, films, and music of the 70's and 80's. In the 80's, I became a big fan of country music. It just appealed to me more than the rock music from that decade. Like this song says, "I wouldn't trade those days for nothing." I miss the 70's and 80's.
I was born in 1967. This song is spot on!! From Star Wars on....I remember where I was when I heard about the Challenger. This part of the song makes me tear up a little every time.
I was born in April 1972 and this song describes my whole life even down to the black Trans-Am. Great memories I wish I could live all over again. Sure do miss a lot of my friends I grew up with. Some who moved away, some I just don't see anymore and a few that have passed away. 😕
Love this song, it brings back so many memories. I had just about all of the toys it shows in the video. Lol I saw Mark last year, he's a real class act. He sings real country music.
I just wanna say. This is the song that made me and my brother start listening to country. Long story short: My brother heard it in his teachers truck. Then he heard it again at home while he was skipping through the stations on the radio. As soon as he heard it, he started listening to that station that this song was on. And as the younger brother, I did whatever he did. (We stopped listening to country around 2005. So I know ALL the country songs from the time this song came out to 2005).
As a 48yr old man, this song holds memories of days gone by... I have to Quote Ralph Spangler " I’m last of the generation that can relate to a lot of this. I hope and pray that young men open doors and wait on women. Love your wife/girlfriend and cherish every moment. Treat others with respect and take advice. Most importantly don’t work yourself to death, take the vacation days and spend every free moment doing what you love. Say “I love you” as often as you can to those you hold dear, don’t hold grudges and forgive the ones who did you wrong. Lastly let a greater power into your life." Amen Ralph and thank you.
I remember those days well! Doesn't seem that long ago! This song brings tears to my eyes just listening to the lyrics. I miss those days! Wish I could go back!

Born in the late 70s. Yup, The 80s were awesome along with the 90s. Now today find my self wishing I could just go back to the beginning of my life and just forget about the 21st century and relive the 20th century again.

Country will never be the same... RIP.
This is REAL country and I'd pay to watch this live should Mark ever play locally.
Gotta say hey Mark, thumbs up and bics lite. J r
He’ll be at the Knox county fair in Mount Vernon Ohio July 2024
God Bless you

I was born in ‘95 and I heard this song growing up and yearned for an experience that I’ll never know. Y’all really got to experience the absolute crest of American civilization and many of my generation will forever envy the lives that you guys got to live. 🥲
I was born in 95 aswell but luckily being from the middle of no where I still was able to relate to alot of it
I was born in '93
I was born in 2001 and I wake up everyday wishing that it was 1970 or 1980 something and I had a chance to live like they did.
Gen X forever 🤘
I was born in 1970 and this song brings so many memories. Getting up early on saturday mornings and watching all the great cartoons and spending the evenings playing in the woods and fields around our farm. Like the song says i would not trade those days for anything.
I’d love to be a ‘70s and ‘80s kid like several of my cousins, my stepbrother and stepsister. But everything in God’s timing. I was an ‘80s and ‘90s kid and I share some of these memories. Dealing with responsibilities and rarely seeing family that I grew up with “makes me wish sometimes” that it was 1980 something! God bless!
Hello Audrey 👋 how are you doing today?
I do miss the 70's, and the 80's: more than I ever knew.
god bless your soul
OMG...this song is the best! I remember all of this he mentions! I was born in 1973 so I got experience both decades! LOVED IT!
Me too!!!!
Me too!!!!!
Were they fun?
Me too but my little morbid ass was thinking about The Atlanta Child Murders and hitchhikers being murdered... the joys of being a 1973 baby 😂😂😂
I was born in 1969. Each detail of the song brings back so many memories! Love it!
This song just popped up , I am in my car crying and thinking just how wonderful it was and understanding everything in this song . Born in 71 , I wouldn’t change a damn thing about my life from back then
I will never understand how this guy wasnt more popular he has a better voice than most of todays “country” artists
Life was so much simpler back then. Kids had respect for their elders and neighbors were best friends. Those days were the best!!!
Mark Wills is a great singer I wish he could come out with more music
Have loved this song since it came out, having been born in 1967 totally my life in a song!!! Remember the neighbor in our apartment crying when Elvis died (she was a fanatic). And was standing in the middle of Main Street in Leesburg, FL when the shuttle went up, had the tv blasting so I could hear the countdown and when it exploded I freaked as I knew it was not to do that. Very impactful song for sure. The kids today just wouldn't understand.
Hello Ann 👋 how are you ??
I was born in 86' so some of these references resonate with me. Played pacman at the arcade. I had a Stretch Armstrong. Had rubix cube. Watched MTV. Went to the skating rink. Miss those so-called simpler times when my parents would just drop me and my brother at the arcade without any concern. Going to the movies every Christmas Eve as a family. Feels like a lifetime ago.
I was born in 86' as well. I miss the simpler times as well
Born in 1966 lyv this Cowboy music there nothing better then playing all my favorite never gets old playing them ever day always This Little Country Cowgirl thank u cowboy ❤❤❤❤❤
Late 60s baby here. This song brings back so many good memories. A real trip down memory lane. It makes me think of all the other things I grew up with too.
I'm not a country music guy but there is something about this song. It brings me right back to my childhood. So many memories came flooding back watching this. Thanks Mark Wills for putting a smile in my heart.
Easily the best song ever when it comes to actually telling a story that's not about some cliché topic. What a banger!
i mean growing up is a topic a lot of country singers go to when writing songs.
@@ryanforster8761 But they were not written as good as this one

8 track tapes...my nephew was looking through my stuff in the attic...he didn't know what my cassette tapes were at all and was iffy on CDs ...good thing he didn't find a record player up there 😂
This song is so true i had a black trans am and spent every weekend at roller rink i had a stretch arm strong and it brings me back .was nothing better 80s forever . will never outgrow my youth im 54 and listen to 80s music everyday .im stuck .
Born in 75, this brings back memories of being a kid in the 80s. Man do I miss those days, just running a playing and not a care in the world, things were a lot simpler back then.
I think he wrote this song pretty accurately. We did all those things too. Born in 69’ . He’s right too, I would love to go back.
Oh I agree I had six boy cousins and When We Were Young we all watched The Dukes of Hazzard got some great memories
Born in 1991. Got to experience sp much of both 80s and 90s culture and I am quite grateful for it.
I remember meeting you briefly when I was little, you went to high school with my mother in riverdale. this song is awesome even though I was born in the 90s, this song will forever remind me of my mother and how much she admired you. you're awesome, keep doing what you are doing.
Just heard this song for the first time. What a piece. Gives me optimism.
Stay strong everyone. Better days are coming.
Sending love from the UK 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Who in the hell are you sending love to ? America is just fine despite what the small intense minority says on tv. Yeeee haaaawww
My childhood and adolescence perfectly in this one song!
Thanks for the memories Mark!
Hello friend
Love this song. I remember every thing he sang in this song. Those were the good ol days. I have some great childhood memories from the 70's. The 80's are some of the best times for me.
The world now is in a great big mess. Seems to get worse. Thankful for this video to bring back those good ol memories. Thanks Cowgirl Cindy!

@@karenmiddleton995 wow, sounds amazing. I see you like country music so much, I really enjoy listening to country music.
TY Mark. you looked way too young to be around in the 70s, till i remembered how old this song is. I find myself walking down memory lane more and more. Keep up the good work.
That's my uncle Tommy in the black shirt on the far right behind Mark Wills. Met Mark Wills in person and he seemed like a humble man. Still inlove with this song and Marks voice!
I didn't grow up in the 90s but this song still kind of gets to me. There's something vulnerable about realizing how time keeps us moving.
Thank you so much Mark for chronicling my life in a video. I'm 48 years old now and you couldn't have said it any better. Wish more songs today could connect with people like you do.
i loove this song so much! a couple of weeks ago i went out to eat with some friends and Mark Wills was at the restraunt! i met him and got a picture and an autograph! Most amazing experience ever (:
Hello Theresa
History is something to be held on to. It teaches us to be strong and keeps us grounded!
I love this song! I grew up in the 70s & 80s and I wouldn't trade those days for nothing either!
Yep
The 70's and 80's were the absolute best!
I was born in 2002 but this gives me a sense of anemoia, which is nostalgia for a time you’ve never known
Grew up in 80's💗 This song puts a permanent grin on my face
I was born in 97 but I know that the 70's, 80's were the good ole days 😥 I miss those days
96 here, and man I wish I could’ve lived through these times, for countless reasons.
I was born in 1997 as well !! Go class of 2016!!

I was born in 2004 and i love everything of mine to be 80s and like 80s movies and shows and 80s music lol
Definitely took the 80s for granted. Back when country was actually country
I can really relate with this song... so many great memories!! Wow! Thank you for sharing this with all of us. Fantastic music!!
I remember those days well! Doesn't seem that long ago! This song brings tears to my eyes just listening to the lyrics. I miss those days! Wish I could go back!

Much love from Mobile Alabama.
Man do I miss those days, my brother had a black 1978 Trans Am and I used it to take my drivers test. I graduated in 89, So I had the big hair and skated every weekend, it was so nice to not have a phone on you all the time and just hang out at the park with my friends.
This song makes me feel happy and sad at the same time. Brings back the memories of my childhood.
This song is why I started listening to country music!
I was born in 68 and I love this song because I remember the time when I grew up
I discovered him last week 09SEP22 at the Grand Ole Opry and just fell in love with him and his music. This was the first song he sang and it talks about all my childhood, Dukes of Hazards (me it was Beau and Luke Duke) Star Wars, Rubik's cube, etc. I Loved the show.
It’s 2022 and we’re fucked. Thank you for making this, it’s part of my life soundtrack and It’s nice to be able to look back at a simpler time and remember how awesome things were.

My time! I was 9 years old in 1978. Can't imagine a better childhood than the 70s and 80s.
Born in the late 70s. Yup, The 80s were awesome along with the 90s. Now today find my self wishing I could just go back to the beginning of my life and just forget about the 21st century and relive the 20th century again.
I'm only 20, Lord so much has changed! Ain't nothing peaceful anymore unless you go to this hills and find a hillbilly living in 1850.
Does anyone else have flashbacks that are just totally linked to the nostalgic country songs from 1995-2004
I thought I was the only one
But why ‘04 just wondering?
Born in 1990 across the pond but this is one of my favourite songs and can always lift my nood, no matter what ❤

I met Mark Wills in 2003 in Kuwait. He performed for us on a USO tour as did several entertainers the difference was Mark Wills came to midnight chow, sat and ate with me and some of my friends. I love your tribute to our past history. Today was the first time I seen your video. I remember using ginormous amounts of aqua net to get my hair to stand up straight for the perfect poof and even had a pair of parachute pants! Funny you got The General Lee car behind you. I remember being in the lunch line at kindergarden listening to kids try to emulate the car horn noise. Then you grown up and find out that most people of various races are frightened of the entire concept of the confederate flag. We grew up with a Winn Dixie grocery store and the largest road Dixie Highway never understanding what that meant, now never shop at Winn Dixie and always try to be empathic to the many families whose familes were separated for the state right to own slaves. Live and learn.
