I just escaped a very cruel and abusive husband. He laughed at me often. What he did devastated me. I've learned since then that I don't need to accept who I was in his eyes because I've been redeemed and made worthy in my Father's eyes. My husband said I was unworthy, nothing special, not good enough. God says I am His workmanship, I have been established, anointed & sealed, I am victorious, I am chosen, set apart & dearly loved & I am fearfully & wonderfully made ❤️ My Father in heaven loves me eternally and thats the only thing that matters now as I heal from the pain.

I’ll never forget my social studies teacher played this in 6th grade I was going through deep depression and I was in a psych ward hospital in ways I gave up I’m glad Jesus doesn’t give on us. I’m definitely thankful for that Old Rugged Cross.

I was picked on in school by bullies and now even as an adult i am still in the work place i have peace that my Jesus loves me
How very sad for you. In 6th grade I refuse to do my work because my teacher believed in evolution. So the teacher tried screwing with me a little so I had to repeat 6th grade. The second year in 6th grade my math teacher's daughter was being bullied so bad she couldn't even tell her mother so she killed herself. It was very sad but the teachers got really nice after that and I got to go to 7th grade and I still going to do any work. I'm glad to see Jesus loves you put little Angie factor I hear lock yourself in the garage and started the car I went to sleep forever I hope she meets Jesus one day

This song echos in my head from time to time. My sister is mentally disabled and when she was in school, her and the other kids in the "handicapped" class, sang this song outside together for a talent show and my sister and some of the other handicapped kids, cried while singing it; which in turn made the adults in the crowd cry. I was probably 7 then, I'm 27 now and I'm crying. ❤

My younger sister is also handicapped. My mom had schizophrenia. I would get teased and made fun of when I wld go to school. I didn't have any support from anyone. It was tough ,but I made it through. Graduated High school .I'm 47 so I got to make the best even if we live in a cruel heartless world. God will see.

one of my first country songs as a kid. it hit me real hard whenever i listened to it due to the abuse and bullying i suffered at school. i'm autistic, epileptic, have ADHD, and learning problems and they went at me like sharks in a feeding frenzy. i suffered like that until, finally, in Grade 10 i made my first true friends after moving to a new school. we've gone our seperate ways now, but i'll still always be thankful for them for accepting me. if that didn't happen, i may not be in such a good a position that i am today.

@@BBQPorkSandwich3 yup you just gotta fight through it and not let them break you. i'm a martial arts instructor now and i spent the entire class just talking to this girl who has severe anxiety because she is afraid people will judge her. i told her i know how she feels due to my own experiences and asked if she wants to get her black belt to which she said yes. i then told her then don't let them break you down. don't give a rats ass about what they think of you. whether it takes you 5 years or 50 years to get that black belt, your still gonna get it if you put in that hard work so what does it matter what they say? she got a little more talkative as i stayed there with her but i never was able to actually convince her to participate. still, the fact that i got her to talk at all is progress as most of the time she's incredibly quiet, which she also admitted was due to her anxiety of being judged.
Unfortunately I guess the pain of being bullied some times makes you who you are.

A great song with a powerful message. I grew up when bullying wasn't quite as recognized as it is today. It made me a stronger person. But for those that couldn't take it and committed suicide or turned violent themselves, this song should serve as a reminder to always treat everyone with kindness. Only God knows a person's whole story.

Even if you just graduated with post-secondary education and maybe haven't landed the job you're going for right now, one day you will make it. Things don't just happen overnight. You will get there! I’m 36 years old and this song has always meant a lot to me growing up I can’t count how many times I cried myself to sleep because I was always bullied. Still to this day people like to give me looks and whisper things about me. Sometimes I really just want to knock them clean out but what does that solve.
That was me 50 years ago. Many nights I did the same. Also prayed that God would take me. But He saw fit to get me through it.
I still cry myself to sleep too. Was picked on because I was born different. Couldn't walk like everyone else and had problems learning. One of the worst times that I remember I was in 5th grade my TEACHER called me up in front of the entire class and told them that I was only able to name 10 states. I was ten and wasn't good with reading yet. What he did was wrong because they now had even more to make fun of me about. A few months later my parents were tired of seeing me come home in tears and pulled me out
oh yeah I know how that goes sometimes I've been at the gym I walk in everyone gets quiet it seems like everyone's minding their business and working out but all the sudden the voices go down they're talking low whispering and I hear a laugh every now and then are they talking about me? sometimes I wonder . now keep in mind these were guys powerlifting and I come in and I'm only bench pressing 15 lb I know they're looking my way and I know they're talking about me but I don't care. they don't know me they don't know who I am all they can do is speculate.
This song reminds me how kids treated me when I was in high-school after an accident happened to me when I was hit bye a car and in a coma then I woke up from my coma and all of the relearning that I had to do on everything just like being a child all over again and the physical therapy that I went through to help me learn how to walk and use my hands again. Being picked on hurt so much back then and if the kids only knew what they were doing to me. I am very strong now and with the grace of God I never let anything or anyone hurt me anymore. We are all God's children and we are all the same. This song is special telling us we should all be treated the same.

I hate bullying, where I went to school, I think people was pretty lucky because we didn't have a lot of bullying. mostly, people would see someone getting bullied and step in, whether they were "preppy", gothic or normal, most of us didn't put up with it.
I grew up being made fun of. I was a goofy looking crooked glasses braces wearing geek. This song made me cry when I first heard it, I can’t tell you how many times I walked away from people saying don’t laugh at me under my breath while they laughed at me.
That ended after a while, I lived most of my adult life not having that issue anymore. Until I became crippled from a work accident…

A lot of adults who try to be edgy bullies are really just prissy babies if they're confronted on it, or they're going through their own personal struggles and unfortunately find that misery loves company. I wish I could say adults outgrow bullying, but I've seen men who aren't too far removed from apes at the zoo when it comes to anyone from a gay guy to a war vet to anybody else who makes an easy target. Saw a forty-year-old once picking on a minor with down's syndrome, and when I confronted him, I realized that the adult man was actually the minor child's father. We live in a sick world, but for every cruel jerkoff there are a million more nice people who will be compassionate and kind to those around them.

This was my daughter's favorite song when she was 6 or 7 so I took her to see him at the fair in Spokane and after the show this lady came out to the crowd and took my daughter back to marks trailer. She got to sit on his lap and he gave her an autographed picture. Very cool, she still hasn't forgot it and she is 30 now. Thank you Mark for making a memory she will never forget, nor I.

There's ambition and spirit in All Country folks than in big towns. Because you are more than neighbors you know each others life and family. I live in Town now and still try to know neighbors but not as easy they are running constantly. We have family meals together they don't. I still have my country feelings that's being friends and watch other people's property when they are gone. Most of my old neighbors have moved away.

My daughter was born with a.b.s. her left hand wasn't formed. In her first grade class some of them would call her foot hand. I bought this cd and played it for the whole class. Thing changed after that. Music spoke better to the kids then I could. This song brings me to tears all the time.

This song makes me think of my little brother who was made fun of because he had high functioning autism and on October 27 2008 3 days after his 11 birthday he and I were riding down the road when all of a sudden he opened his door I slammed on my brakes and tried to catch him and he yelled " I hate my life " as he ran into oncoming traffic and you know 18 wheelers can't stop on a dime and I saw it all unfold before my eyes. After that alcohol became my best friend and enemy and I tried multiple times to take my own life to forget about it and it never worked. I am know sober again and every time I drive by that area were it took place. I put flowers and a toy dinosaur under a little wooden cross because dinosaurs were his favorite and he always wanted to be a paleontologist.

@@tinazimmerman9650 thank you. I was my little brothers only real friend. He and I did everything together. He always had a smile on his face and always wanted to help people. Up until a week before everything happened. I later found out that he was bullied and tortured at school after he accidentally peed himself because he got excited at a school assembly. Him releasing bodily fluids was what happened sometimes upon excitement for him.
I can't believe I've never heard this beautiful song. Absolutely a blessing. I love this song because it gives a voice to a lot of children and adults(big children) who had something that made them feel isolated and different when they were growing up. As a boy I suffered from low self-esteem because I was overweight and had a bird chest, and didn't do very well at sports, then when I got into middle school it got worse, I had glasses and the worst acne imaginable, like the kind you have to take toxic drugs to treat. Girls wouldn't look at me and only the outcast guys were my buddies. There were times when I felt like I was a leper. I never want anyone to feel that way. People deserve respect because we all have the same father in Heaven. Try your hardest to love everyone and make them feel included.
