That was a great intro Mr Shed. Being s Brit I hardly ever get to see the more unusual US creations - it's mostly Mustangs Camaros Cadillacs Mopar B and E bodies etc. That Olds is a really nice looking car. 👍😎👍
Thank you for another great video. I really enjoyed the commercial you put at the front and how you mixed in your footage with it. I am sure it took extra time but if you can keep doing it, as no one else does, it gives your video a good advantage. Seeing that commercial at the beginning I think puts the time the car was new in perspective with what was happening at the time. One can tell the space race is on and cooking: "this is rocket control", "Rocket Oldsmobile", "Jet Away transmission" and the host with a 1960's era NASA headset. One can tell the Gemini space program was well under way and the highly anticipated Apollo moon program was right around the corner. So thanks again for such a good video and take care.

Hey Shed Man! The F-85's looking good and you seem to be making good progress on this project! I've got some questions though. Seeing that there's a high compression engine in the F-85 and it was built in the days of leaded gas, will you have to eventually have to install hardened valve seats in the heads or use lead substitute in the gas? Are you going to need to run higher octane gas so the engine doesn't knock? Quadrajet carbs and points ignition systems are original and nice, but maybe a switch to a Holley EFI injection system and a GM HEI distributor would be a nice way to bring the F-85 into 2023? Does the F-85 have dual exhaust? Nice you could slip in that Shell Gasoline ad in at the beginning! So, how is Triple Pickle doing these days? Keep those Oldsmobile Rocket V8's flying, my good man!
As far as fuel, I’ll have to run high octane with some lead substitute. The carb, while being a Rodchester, it’s NOT a Quadrajet. It’s a 4 Jet, AKA 4GC. It’s a square bore that’s nothing like it’s spread bore cousin the QJ. I’ll be keeping this one as original as possible. I believe it will run great with what it came equipped with. This was made before the ham-fisted CAFE and emission regulations crippled the cars that came out later. Thanks for commenting and watching! And yes it has what’s left of its factory dual exhaust! The pickle is doing great!
