I like how the disney version expanded on my favorite character, Revolver Porkchop. It was quiet interesting. I also enjoyed the new look at naked doug. Though I feel the appearance of liquid Skeeter was a little forced. And Quiet mayonnaise felt like blatant fan service.

I didn't have a normal child hood alot of dramatic shit was always going down and my family seemed very broken and confused at times. So when I watched doug and all the crazy stuff he was going through, even the dramatic ones, brought about in a cartoony way I felt as though I could relate to the slice of life concept of this show.
I remember a Doug intro that went off script once and got very surreal. And I always tuned in to see if it ever happens again. It blew my mind as a kid to think a cartoon's intro sequence would do something like that.
Here's something I don't get, we see BeeBee in a wheelchair with a cast on her leg like it was broken. How is that even possible, I mean I know Porkchop bit her but I seriously doubt it would do that much damage, he's a small dog and his jaws likely aren't strong enough to cause much damage. Doug was really a funny show. It's just done more subtly as opposed to the cartoons that are more flamboyant about it. That's what I really loved about this show. It may seem boring at first glance. But once you actually dig a little deeper into it, you'll see that it actually does have almost everything a great cartoon has. It was just more subtle with it than the other Nicktoons were.

The only things that have any REAL impact was episode length and more serious plots, and I consider both to be improvements; with longer episodes plots and character developments are able to be more elaborate along with some side plots, with more serious plots the series is able to grow with the audience. All the things like "the beats broke up" and "they no longer hang out at the honker burger" and "Doug has 1 more hair" are all shallow cosmetic reasons to hate; and if you really only care about the cosmetic changes, you aren't a real fan. Funny enough, I remember the beats being more prominent in Disney's Doug despite having broken up.
