What Jio did in the Indian Telecom Sector is something unprecedented. India's 3 big incumbent carriers (Idea, Vodafone & Airtel) have reported losses consecutively for the last 8 financial quarters, forcing Idea & Vodafone to merge and also causing upto 15 other small carriers to exit the market completely. The amount of planning that went into creating Jio, the upfront investment in the infrastructure, the launch of the service, it's marketing campaign and then it's broad spectrum effects on the Indian market deserve a video of their own. I urge you to do it, I guarantee it that you'll be blown away. Love from India. Keep up the good work. Waiting for your book. :)

Well there is 2 mistakes in your video. First one: Tata Group doesn't valued at $126 billion USD. Only TCS(Tata Consultancy services) value that much. There are Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Tata Chemicals and lot more than that. Second One: Reliance jio doesn't started internet in India it was here from 1995. Even the 4G networks was started bye Bharti Airtel 2 years ago than jio. What you actually did is, they make it insanely cheap. And was first to come with 4G VoLTE. This is how they reached to every Indian. And grow their behemoth & marvellous business.
Despite you taking everything he said, literally - even you were still incorrect. India had internet in the 70s! What I think you confused it with was the World Wide Web which the entire planet was introduced to in 1994-95. What is true is that, you're correct about it being cheap for all Indians, but did you know that Reliance InfoCom introduced the concept of smartphones, data and mobile streaming to many millions of poor people in India, well before many rich people in New York even knew what texting was! So yes, Reliance was a game changer way back in 2002.
Dagogo failed to mention that Reliance Entertainment also produces movies (both Bollywood and Hollywood) and web series. In fact, Reliance Entertainment are in a partnership with Steven Spielberg's Dreamworks Studio and they jointly produced many hollywood movies such as Lincoln, The Help, War Horse, Ghost in the Shell, Bridge of Spies etc

Fun facts: Gujarat, where Ambanis are from, has been an international trading hub for 5000 years. As part of the Indus Valley Civilization, they traded with Mesopotamia, and Egypt and possibly Crete, and had trading colonies all along the Persian gulf. The Indus site of Lothal and Dholavira had, like other major Indus sites, dedicated manufacturing facilities for the production of carnelian, shell, metal and wood goods. Back then it had the world's best dockyards and trade was the major source of income. This area remained an important trading site throughout history (including with ancient Greece and Rome), and its people were reputed traders, bankers, landowners and businessmen (the Vaishya class of society), and still are to this day. It is precisely because of the fact that there were little government imposed rules or restrictions that e-commerce thrived so hard in China.

This is the exception rather than the norm although western media likes to single out the exceptions and portray it as the norm even though it isn't representative of the situation in China at all. eBay operated independently throughout its operation in China and Amazon has been operating in China since 2004, independently. Amazon is still operating independently in China today. Damn, Jio sounds Awesome. I'm in the US and I'm paying $40 for 3GB a month. I mean I knew we were being ripped off, but not to that magnitude. I'd love to see Jio go international, but I suspect the telecomms lobbies would block it
Based on some comments, 1GB per day for 4 months for $5... thats 120GB for $5, I literally pay 320x that...and typically network providers charge a $40/mo "line access" fee per device. yes all plans come with unlimited talk and texts, but data ranges from $20 for 512MB per month, to $100-120/mo for unlimited (which is throttled after around 20GB).
Coldfusion the information this guy gives regarding companies history is worth millions.
2019 Fresh Update:The Reliance Family Feud has officially been settled. Mukesh pays 550 crore rupees on behalf of Anil To Ericson to save Anil from Unbailable prison.
You should really consider making another Video about Reliance,
Considering a lot has changed since last year itself!!
Unrelated to the video... but I love the way you speak it's really soothing to ears
It's never ceases to surprise me as to how well-researched these videos are every time
