Well said John….Baltany are kicking it out the park …revitalizing vintage cases and styles previously lost…quality is amazing and they are doing something different which collectors like me buzz over!
Thanks for another great review...however, watching them is bad for my bank balance...I've got the Panda on it's way 😂. I've been toying with getting a Baltany for several months and seeing reviews like yours has finally made me pull the trigger. Looking forward to receiving thia one 👍.
Thank you for showcasing the retro chronograph, and doing so very well. I've had my eye on it for a while, but it's been surprisingly hard to find pictures and videos of it online. I hope Baltany will step up their advertising efforts.
I agree, I own the 42mm mechanical field watch which keeps amazing time and is the least expensive watch I own but now a favorite of my collection which includes a few high end watches. I often hear on youtube (not by yourself) petty moaning about signed crowns? Why does everyone harp on about signed crowns? Most Baltany watches are homages of original historical designs and those never had signed crowns. Just cheapens the look of the watch not enhances it IMO.
I bought the bronze diver and, shortly afterwards, the 1926 oyster with a mother of pearl dial. The 1926 developed a fault so I sent it to Baltany UK. Within a week they'd sent a replacement complete with fresh guarantee. I therefore had no hesitation in getting a third (retro chronograph). Only problem now is choosing which one to wear.
@@maninthestreet01 It just stopped. A couple of winds of the crown and it ran for a few seconds and stopped again. This continued until the watch was fully wound and not running. Got in touch with Baltany, they asked me to send it back for inspection, confirmed it was faulty, gave me a new one, covered my postage and apologised profusely.
I have to admit that I'm really not much of a fan of the whole Ali express thing & some of the dodgy clones that are sold on there, however from what I've seen of the Baltany brand so far ive been quite impressed with what I've seen its nice to see some of the older styles getting a new lease of life for me that's what a homage watch should be. As for those that are trying to rattle your cage just ignore them mate, most negativity is driven by jealously anyway, just smile, pat them on the head & send them on their way! 😆
A lot of UA-camrs are reviewing these and they've all said the same thing as you in that the quality is excellent. I'm just about to pull the trigger on one but, can't quite decide between the chrono or the field watch.
I've been wearing this watch (the cream white retro panda) for a few days now and I have to say it is a very pretty watch. Finishing looks perfect and the printing on the dial is sharp. I was concerned the watch might be a bit too large for my 6.5" wrists, but it actually wears a lot smaller. Very nice fit. The provided leather strap is also nice. My only real complaint is that it is not the most easily readable watch out there, as the hour and minute markers are really tiny and the hands don't provide much contrast against the cream colored dial. A running seconds hand would also have been nice. And it is also a bit on the thick side. All in all, a beautiful piece of art for your wrist. Highly recommended for anyone who wants something a bit different.
I almost bought the black dial version in the recent sale but the unsigned crown and fully polished case held me back. Hopefully, they can rectify these two minor issues soon.
Sorry but, why does everyone harp on about signed crowns? Most Baltany watches are homages of original designs and those never had signed crowns. Just cheapens the look of the watch not enhances it IMO.

Aah, the things we have to suffer as watch collectors! ;)
What was the problem with the 1926 Oyster?

Nice positive review. Baltany makes a great looking watch.
Cool! I got one of these chronographs the other day in black. Excited to get it home! 🙂

Well. I can certainly vouch for the quality. Your decision should then be based on what you need for your collection. What suits your lifestyle best?
