What's not to like for that sort of money. The design is pleasing even if it is a copy. I agree about the step on the case, it looks like it needs a colour matched ring fitted. Another very good review Michael.
There is no running second, unless the chronograph is started, the watch looks 'dead'. Should have been mentioned, in the video the chronograph is constantly on.
Basically what I said in the review mate. Personally though for the money it’s epic. Had it on again today. I don’t mind mecaquartz. I’ve quite a few. I like the set and forget that quartz offer.
Yeah, I 100% agreed with the review tbh. It looks great, but Baltany can't take the credit for that. At the price though...I dunno :D See you next month, bud!
On the design, I wouldn't be bothered about it looking like a Longines, the tuxedo dial was invented by Omega as a non-chronograph. Tuxedo dial chronographs were around decades ago, from people like Bregeut, Eterna, Lemania, Excelsior Park, but it all goes back to Omega. Too much misinformation on designs, like the bauhaus craze a few years ago, people saying brands like Seagull and Rodania etc. with their bauhaus watches were nasty ripoffs of Nomos with no morals, when actually Nomos were using a dial design that Longines were using decades before, and decades before that, in the 1930s, people like Lange and Stowa were using these dials, a design that was 100% not invented by Nomos, that would be the Nomos who took the name of the original bankrupt Nomos company that was unconnected to them and used it for themselves.
I didnt know the history like that so thanks for the lesson. End of the day everything is a copy of one thing or another. So many watches have movable bezels and apparently thats accepted but there was only one watch with a dive bezel first which was the Blancpain FF so are they all copying that?!?
@@mywatchreviews They would be, and probably not realise nowadays, but patents and copyrights expire, I think after 25 years? So modern versions would be legal.
Certainly nice looking (those hands look great, and different designs on the two sub dials works well). I personally like the stepped bezel look but i agree it attracts dirt. A watch i could very well be tempted by
Me gustó la escala taquimétrica se ve muy bien y llega hasta 1000 eso le da un toque de herramienta más fina. Tengo un reloj Europa con un escalón en el bisel y se parece a este reloj sólo en esa parte pero yo no se porqué no acumula polvo ni escombros pero en este reloj puedo ver que si. Me hubiera gustado que en vez del contador de 24 horas del reloj mejor llevara un contador de 12 horas del cronografo. Salú2 desde Puebla México.

I like this watch and think they've done a mostly good job of it. I do wish they used a movement with small seconds instead of 24hr dial though. If they did the other version dial with blue and red, tachymeter and telemeter scales I'd be all over it regardless of which movement! Thanks for the review!
The mecaquartz seiko movement is found in 10,000s of chronographs. It’s nothing new and been around for decades. I’d take this version of movement over a conventional quartz chrono any day. More engineering as to produce a smooth tick you actually need more mechanics
It wears lovely. It is plain but then I think thats the whole point. In hindsight I should have shown it on other straps. will do this in other videos in the future.
Such a great looking watch, with that tuxedo dial (still loving my Thorn tuxedo dial), that stepped bezel does look strange at first, it might have been done as an art deco element? Thinking of it that way, seems better. Being vegan I wish there was an option of a vegan leather strap, so many exist nowadays, an option, i'm not telling anyone else they should have no choice, or canvas, rubber, etc. Also the stitching on the strap by the lugs, looks totally unretro, although if someone owned a vintage watch over decades it might be something that was the natural part of the watch's life.
@@mywatchreviews Yes, a good thing nowadays is all those aliexpress watches that say Genuine Leather but they are 100% plastic! I might reluctantly buy by product cow leather, but real reptile or other stuff, no way ever.
Great looking watch. I've seen the Longines on sale for £ 2,350. You do get a lovely engraved back on the Longines, but you would need an extra 2 grand in surplus pocket money!
Great watch and review Michael. I definitly will buy a Baltany. Don't know what model yet. An improvement I would have like to see is that the right subdial is the minute counter and the left subdial the running seconds. In this configuration we have a useless 24 hours indicator. My Yema RallyGraph has the same "problem" and I wear it less and less because of this layout. Don't know if Seiko has another mecaquartz with my desired layout. Thank you for commenting. I don’t think there is a Seiko quartz with running seconds ( but I could be wrong) and option is the Sea-Gull 1901 mechanical that most brands use as a cheaper option. It would make the case thicker and the price a lot higher. I’ve a few of these and I just don’t bother with the 24 hour scale. I have two Straton which is a brand I love but I can’t afford the Valjoux 7750 versions. Health is okay. Feel fine although there is always doubt in the back of my mind but I don’t think about it. Just getting on and pretending it didn’t happen! Enjoy the group!
I like the watch, the design; but have to agree with you that I prefer an old-time vintage homage (preferably for a watch that's hard to get) than the homage of a modern and available watch. But the watch is very nice. Best regards

Darn. It is so stunning. Shame it’s a 1:1 homage of a current watch. But then again, it’s a reissue. So I kind of have less of an issue if that makes any sense. I guess we all draw our lines in the sand in different places. Thanks for the great review.
Had they changed a few aspect just slightly it would sit better with me. That said it’s still superb for the price and I am honest when I said I’ve worn it a lot !
Nice watch! Could be tempted, got a baltany and it does get a lot of wrist time. And a wee bit cheaper than the Longines! Great honest review 👍

very nice watch at the price point but at around 1/10 of the real deal (pre-owned) i couldn’t convince myself 😂
Really torn on this one. It's a great price for a fantastic looking watch, but it's a mecaquartz copy with no extra design work put in.

Not with the Seiko mecaquartz movement. This is widely used in chronographs from micro brands.
I think they left the coin edge off the basil of this one,leaving that troublesome step.
