The ship's in-game explosions where the most spectacular of all SFC games, even though unrealistical, it let you feel that you've really defeated your opponent utterly (FATALITY!). Same goes to your enemies too. When your reactor is about to explode (the anticipation of that one last phaser beam to be fired upon you... chilling), it only makes you cry of total defeat. That's why this is beloved Star Trek game.

I remember all the gameplay was recorded by default(poor performance/some errors) in the unpatched version. As for everything else, it summed up to be amazingly addictive. I can't think of any other game that has made ship to ship combat so strategic yet easy to understand.(Weapons/Shields/Repairs/Other)
Does anyone remember the training missions? I just started playing this on PC, and I'm completely STUCK on how to tractor the 2 ships to orbit the asteroid in the middle. I keep running out of time on the second ship. Is there a secret. like power management or something? i've read the manual back 2 front,and I googled everywhere, and there is nothing for this game written by nice people.
I like Starfleet Command 3 (recently released on GOG and fixed so it's compatible with Windows 10) but I do miss the faster paced combat of the original Starfleet Command. Even though fighters were next to useless.

Uh, ever heard of shields? You would need at least 8-9 phaser blasts before the hull of a ship is damaged. Oh, and what's up with all the opening credits? Who the hell cares how many gaming companies were involved? Just list their names together, we don't need to see their dumb logos.

I like how the sound sort of gives respect and attention to the constitution class firing those 3 photon torpedoes during the starbase fight.
such an epic noise. The ship sounds like its saying "fuck you" with each torpedo.
The sound direction in this intro is impeccable.

Played Gorn, captured countless enemy ships (there should be prestige reward).
Played Hydran liked the ship design, and played them some more

Those space stations are so big but they seem to get destroyed easily in some video games.
