Being a League player and coming in to Arcane, I sobbed my way through the entire fucking show. It was seriously just insane to be blessed with the opportunity to be alive and witness art like this. The show was so well done and such a love letter to fans.

One of the kids that surrendered when Vi and Jayce attacked the shimmer factory.. ;-) It is not 3 new series they are working on atm. They are focussing on three well actually four new regions Demacia, Ionia, Noxus and Bilgewater. It is very likely that Demacia, Ionia and Noxus will all be featured in one show as Noxus is in war with the other both. Rumor has it that Bilgewater (a Pirate Island) may be the place were Jinx is heading. You can check your Artbook for hints... 😜

I was hoping you’d do this! I did a deep dive into everything Riot after season 1, from Runeterra lore, to champion videos, to yearly cinematics, and so on. Riot truly created a mesmerizing and detailed world!

Ekko was one of the coolest characters when he came out. I love the boy genius esthetic, and as soon as he was in the show season 1 I couldn't help but laugh because no one knew what was to come even after episode 7 😄
When warwick first came out, he was a criminal that got injured escaping a crime... he ran into Soraka, a healer, and she nursed him back to health... then she learned he was a killer... so she cursed him to look like a wolf, so that others would see him for his evil... but it backfired, just gave him claws.. Lore has shifted a ton over the years. When Warwick came out, the champion lore was more for character flavor. Now, every character is woven into a deep lore tapestry. Edit: so I watched Arcane having hours of play time as Vi, Cait and Jinx... The end of season 1 was not shocking... I knew that Jinx was a criminal against Piltovers finest enforcers (Cait and Vi...) so seeing Vi and powder young, I'm all, oh no.... this is going south... Viktor as well... In game he's an emotionless inventor that wishes to evolve others. You know... like the end of Arcane... so.. like it was interesting watching him turn... Counter argument; in game, Vi and Cait are against Jinx... the end of season 2 was so good because it went past the game lore. In game the characters are between season 2 act 1 and 2... lol Is it better too know or not? .. my opinion, both work but the shows expand on lore, not retell, so I say: Dive in!

She is a celestial being but she put her celestial body into a physical form to help people. She can heal people. But when she heals someone her body burns from inside and couse her pain because her physical body can't hold her power. Also she can read people's minds and able to see potential futures. She is one of the characters in "The Ruination" novel. That novel is so good.

Ekko also appears in "Tales of Runeterra - Piltover and Zaun" and "The climb - Season 2018 cinematic"; Tales of Runeterra are a series of videos presenting every region made for the card game Legens of Runeterra and season cinematics are really cool (except 2023, ignore that one); I think the two videos I mentioned are a good starting point for both things. Also, If you check season cinematics, beware of the 2021 video, that one has a plot that keeps going through other videos that are not "season cinematics"
We would love to see your reaction on Necrit's "The world of Riot's MMO is already done." It's basically a breakdown of storylines happening on different Regions in Runeterra. Also checkout the Shurima region cinematic called "Descent into the Tomb" & " Rise of the Ascended". This cinematic is lore heavy and this region is one of the most interesting because of its storylines. Ambessa Medarda originated from this region.

WRT to knowing or not knowing the lore beforehand, I find it helps more often than not. For example, the guy at the end of the Warwick trailer accidentally cutting his hand made the reveal of Singed cutting his palm in 2x4 much more of a gut-wrenching OH SHT! moment for people who had seen that trailer (and who had seen what happens when WW smells blood) than it seemed to be for those who hadn't and were more casually like "that's weird, why would Singed do that?"
Believe it or not, this version of Warwick came when Arcane was already being worked on (yes, the pre-production lasted for 5 or so years). That's partially how people managed to clock him as Vander, some of his lore and voice lines from the game made it rather obvious.
Ive been playing league for years, I was able to appreciate both the game and the changes made in the show. While I think I think its cool to go in blind, I will say I had a great time seeing all the minor changes and bigger changes, like with Viktor, I've always heard the line about the "Glorious Evolution" and in game he was more of a robot. Now with this new Viktor, its NEW kind of evolution that still incorporates the mechanic aspects. I think thats Fire AF. And Vander being WW I think is cool too, and he looks really good but I do get people like their monsters to be monster and not humanoid monsters..hmmm. but yea 5:30 see yea and like with the murals, I didnt really notice or pay attention to those when Ekko first game out but after watching Arcane, and coming back to see murals were a big part of Ekko's or maybe just the undercity lore. So its also cool to come back and notice those things. 7:20 RIGHT! 😂 7:43 ok last edit and ima stop. So, Ekko getting his Z-drive by working with Jinx and Heim in a different timeline was so exciting to see! For me personally the coolest think for me was that the power source of the Z drive is the anomaly. Seeing Timebomb was neat but the anamoly being the POWER SOURCE blew my mind idk why.
OH BOY IT'S CINEMATIC TIME!!!! ^W^❤ My favourites are As We Fall (it's gay and sad and has a very cool champion named Varus) and both of the Ionian Myth Spirit Blossom cinematics, The Path and Kin of the Stained Blade (about 2 brothers, animation is GORGEOUS) I'm also super biased for HEARTSTEEL because they goy me into league lore via writing fanfiction 😂 (the song Paranoia is awesome and the blooper reel is a must watch)

i remember when the first episode of Arcane happened and vander was called the “Hound of the Underground” that’s when I first started thinking he was warwick.
id HIGHLY recommend watching the Tales of Runeterra videos after watching videos of the character you're familiar with. Tales of Runeterra are like trailers for each region in the world.
Vander was never mention by name but he was hinted at through Vi's old lore. LOL exposition ahead Her old lore is she was a Zaunite orphan troublemaker who did jobs with her gang, but one day she met a man running a bar (this is where Vander is speculated to have been originated) tries to get her out of her trouble for the sake of trouble mindset which he eventually succeeds in when Vi and her gang are doing a job in the mines and her gang almost buries all the workers while they are running away Vi finds a pair of mining gauntlets and uses it to save everyone and to go beat her gang senseless for almost killing innocents. Vi seems to disappear for a while after the incident until she is discovered to be the deputy of the Piltover Wardens(old name for enforcers) and she is "roomates"😉with the sheriff (aka caitlyn) at the time they were not canon but they were shipped SO HARD to the point where they were most shipped couple in the game at one point. The concept of their buddy cop dynamic is good but it doesnt sit right with recent real life events as well as arcane showing the true nature of enforcers. (The lore has been updated and changed since then due to arcane as well as its insensitive nature with how she seemed to personify police brutality as a joke) Also fun little factoid later on Vi learns to fix and maintain her gauntlets on her own so you know for a fact Vi learned to do that to prove Jinx wrong LOL (Vi aint as dumb as people say she aint no meat head) Personally I think Vi got the best lore upgrade out of all of them :D (kinda wish we could've seen some of that engineering side though)
Warwick was in the game since the beginning (15 years ago), the 7 years ago cinematic was because of his update. And we knew he was a man before but that's it. Ekko and Jinx are like 16 in game I believe. Imo Amumu's cinematic is one of the best if u want to watch it, its a sad song. You should be able to react to everything league, even songs, except KDA. All the others are copyright free
Warwick was definitely not created to be Vander. Warwick is one of the first champions the game started with back in 2010~.. The champion teaser you were watching is newer because they re-worked the champion to fit more with the modern game, because he was outdated, he has existed for a long time. All champions and even the world had somewhat different lore back then, but RIOT ret-conned the old lore at some point. The idea behind WW being Vander probably came way later when they were already making Arcane around 2014-15, when the game was already 6-7 years old.
As far enjoying going in blind to new stuff in this LoL universe....Its too late! Arcane has already given just enough info that everything else will always kinda connect to what you already know! Just dive into the lore and have fun. This gonna be a wild ride!
Warwick has had voicelines about jinx and vi, but they weren't ever like connected, just like how vi and jinx were confirmed to be sisters in arcane as well, if I remember correct

As a LoL player when discussing act 2 before act 3 came out I was really hoping they didn't give Ekko the Z drive because I didn't want the final act of Arcane to be "Hurr durr timetravel plot twitst" but they handled it with a lot of tact (I mean it's Arcane, I shouldn't doubt them lol).

If youre willing to try out more gaming you can try the Riot Forge game CONVERGENCE, you play as Ekko and get to play around with his abilities and explore Zaun, but the lore in there has mostly been retconned by Arcane. (For example you can meet Orianna's original father, Corin Reveck, who basically no longer exists since Singed has become Orianna's father (unless theyre gay and married or something which would be really funny)). Jinx and Warwick are also in the game as bossfights. It'd definitely be a lot less toxic than trying actual League 😅 but the game might be a bit hard for someone who doesnt game much since it requires a lot of finger coordination and dexterity but if you see the game trailers and think its worth a shot you could definitely try it. The games about 10h long I believe.
The statement that Riot is making 3 different spin offs from 3 different regions is incorrect. someone misspoke when talking about future projects and Riot had to come out later and clear it up. they are currently working on a single project involving 3 different locations (those locations having been officially declared. it is Noxus, Demacia, and Iona). they stated they are looking into other projects but the work involving 3 different locations is 1 singular piece, and not 3. Also the reason why these 3 locations are important is because Noxus and Demacia wage war on each other as frequently and generationally as the English and the French. on site, all the time, for decades. Ionia is in the mix because after Singed is acquired by Noxus in the lore he develops a lot of chemical weapons and other bad stuff and Noxus invades Ionia and causes problems there too. but we don't know if that will stay that way in the next series as I doubt Mel is going to let singed chemically gas entire villlages and peoples like he did in the lore for Noxian war devices unless Signed goes to Noxus without her. Also Ionia is by far and away the most beautiful region in Runterra and it's not even close. it's the region with will o wisps, spirits, living trees, half animal humans, and literal raw magic infused into the land and its creatures. and people trying to strip and harvest that magic away from Ionia causes problems.

Vander was never mention by name but he was hinted at through Vi's old lore.
LOL exposition ahead
Her old lore is she was a Zaunite orphan troublemaker who did jobs with her gang, but one day she met a man running a bar (this is where Vander is speculated to have been originated) tries to get her out of her trouble for the sake of trouble mindset which he eventually succeeds in when Vi and her gang are doing a job in the mines and her gang almost buries all the workers while they are running away Vi finds a pair of mining gauntlets and uses it to save everyone and to go beat her gang senseless for almost killing innocents. Vi seems to disappear for a while after the incident until she is discovered to be the deputy of the Piltover Wardens(old name for enforcers) and she is "roomates"😉with the sheriff (aka caitlyn) at the time they were not canon but they were shipped SO HARD to the point where they were most shipped couple in the game at one point. The concept of their buddy cop dynamic is good but it doesnt sit right with recent real life events as well as arcane showing the true nature of enforcers. (The lore has been updated and changed since then due to arcane as well as its insensitive nature with how she seemed to personify police brutality as a joke)
Also fun little factoid later on Vi learns to fix and maintain her gauntlets on her own so you know for a fact Vi learned to do that to prove Jinx wrong LOL

Personally I think Vi got the best lore upgrade out of all of them :D (kinda wish we could've seen some of that engineering side though)
The sword that Ekko uses is one of the hands from the clock tower.

Warwick was in the game since the beginning (15 years ago), the 7 years ago cinematic was because of his update. And we knew he was a man before but that's it. Ekko and Jinx are like 16 in game I believe. Imo Amumu's cinematic is one of the best if u want to watch it, its a sad song. You should be able to react to everything league, even songs, except KDA. All the others are copyright free
Warwick was definitely not created to be Vander. Warwick is one of the first champions the game started with back in 2010~.. The champion teaser you were watching is newer because they re-worked the champion to fit more with the modern game, because he was outdated, he has existed for a long time. All champions and even the world had somewhat different lore back then, but RIOT ret-conned the old lore at some point. The idea behind WW being Vander probably came way later when they were already making Arcane around 2014-15, when the game was already 6-7 years old.
you should check out ekkos lore and comics they are really good and touching as they play a lot into appreciating what we have

Warwick has had voicelines about jinx and vi, but they weren't ever like connected, just like how vi and jinx were confirmed to be sisters in arcane as well, if I remember correct

@artxroyalty yeahhh, jinx and vi were speculated to be sisters before arcane, but was never confirmed, and Warwick had old voicelines about his daughters too 🙂↕️🙂↕️ so the speculation of Vander being Warwick wasn't unfounded, it just wasn't wholly confirmed
As a LoL player when discussing act 2 before act 3 came out I was really hoping they didn't give Ekko the Z drive because I didn't want the final act of Arcane to be "Hurr durr timetravel plot twitst" but they handled it with a lot of tact (I mean it's Arcane, I shouldn't doubt them lol).

ekko weapon is a clock hand, yes singed made ww in the game and he only hunts the chem barons and their goons

If youre willing to try out more gaming you can try the Riot Forge game CONVERGENCE, you play as Ekko and get to play around with his abilities and explore Zaun, but the lore in there has mostly been retconned by Arcane. (For example you can meet Orianna's original father, Corin Reveck, who basically no longer exists since Singed has become Orianna's father (unless theyre gay and married or something which would be really funny)). Jinx and Warwick are also in the game as bossfights.
It'd definitely be a lot less toxic than trying actual League 😅 but the game might be a bit hard for someone who doesnt game much since it requires a lot of finger coordination and dexterity but if you see the game trailers and think its worth a shot you could definitely try it. The games about 10h long I believe.
Apparently there’s going to be a new League fighting game from 2XKO, I saw some gameplay…I will definitely be playing!
Fun fact: none of this trailers matter now that Arcane is the canon universe... :(
The statement that Riot is making 3 different spin offs from 3 different regions is incorrect. someone misspoke when talking about future projects and Riot had to come out later and clear it up. they are currently working on a single project involving 3 different locations (those locations having been officially declared. it is Noxus, Demacia, and Iona). they stated they are looking into other projects but the work involving 3 different locations is 1 singular piece, and not 3.
Also the reason why these 3 locations are important is because Noxus and Demacia wage war on each other as frequently and generationally as the English and the French. on site, all the time, for decades. Ionia is in the mix because after Singed is acquired by Noxus in the lore he develops a lot of chemical weapons and other bad stuff and Noxus invades Ionia and causes problems there too. but we don't know if that will stay that way in the next series as I doubt Mel is going to let singed chemically gas entire villlages and peoples like he did in the lore for Noxian war devices unless Signed goes to Noxus without her. Also Ionia is by far and away the most beautiful region in Runterra and it's not even close. it's the region with will o wisps, spirits, living trees, half animal humans, and literal raw magic infused into the land and its creatures. and people trying to strip and harvest that magic away from Ionia causes problems.
