    07:14 I want to add for kids watching this. Even if you fail most things in school, you can still make it. Most important thing in life is figuring out what you want, and enjoy it - then come success.

      @gislo Рік тому

      @@PepsiFuture I am not so sure about that.
      There are ofc many factors to this, and one would also need to define "success". Is it making the most money, top 1%, or is a great life/ work balance with a decent pay vs. effort etc. Many many factors.
      I am obv. not saying ignore school and doing so might put a chip on your shoulder for the rest of your life... self worth etc. But a lot of time spent in school is BS.

      Wish my parents and school had known this.
      Was really good (top 3 in my class) at math growing up. Once I started to passively give more effort there than English and got some poor English grades, the way my teachers and especially my parents reacted, just made mw shut down and made me stop trying at everything, even Math. Didn’t care about anything academic related until I took Chemistry and that reignited the fire, but by then it was too late. I had fallen behind nearly everyone in math by that point.
      When I got that bad grade it was like, no video games, no phone, no seeing friends, threats of withdrawing the “help” I was already getting, it was not good. Threatening kids into conformity is probably not a great way to go about things.

    I feel like a lot of schools really fail to connect with students and get them to actively engage in learning, this was the case for myself. Learning should be fun and playful, maybe even borderline obsessive, considering we learn something everyday. I cant imagine the exponential impact of effectively adjusting our traditional methods of schooling. To teach people how to learn, and how to think critically, I can only dream.

    i think the fact that Destiny had some real rough actual jobs when he was younger, AND used to be a conservative/libertarian makes me give his takes a lot more weight. He wasn't born into privilege and given the right opinions to have like a lot of leftists today, he had to work hard to come to his own understanding of the world. I wouldn't say either side has all the right opinions. That's one of the tradeoffs of a two party system that deals with 330 million people at the federal level. Frankly, I'd vote for whatever candidate / party could come up with a decent plan for affordable housing and make it attainable for single people, but for some reason that doesn't seem high on the platform even though that's the real high monthly cost to most people.

    I disagree with destiny on pretty much everything..... But I kinda like him still. The defense of any position the far left has blows my mind. I can agree with some things from every other political affiliation, besides the far left. Liberals, conservatives, libertarians,moderates, etc. Not the far left. A big reason I can't agree is that they are mostly unwilling to have a calm conversation with someone who disagrees with them (even though their ideas are extreme in almost every category).. That's why I appreciate destiny. I don't agree with him, but he's atleast calm, rational, and willing to have a civil debate.

Destiny, like every single human being that ever existed, has his strengths and his weaknesses, is knowledgeable on some areas and not on others, has good ideas and not so good ideas. We tend to categorize people (and things in general) into boxes of "I like them" or "I dislike them", but that misses the massive gray area of complexity of all individuals.

Like with any new show I watch, I'll watch more than one episode before I truly form an opinion and decide if it's worth my time.
