Its flying under the radar right now. But Ivan Pace Jr, Jonathan Greenard, and Dallas Turner. Vikings defensive front is going to be scary. Especially if they can get a dawg in the DT department in next years 1st rd draft. This defense can be elite with flores as DC.
I remember hearing about him embarrassing rbs in blocking drills, before the senior bowl. I lost track of him. When I saw his name in our UDFA list I couldn't believe it
I just hope as a Vikings fan that Flores stays on as D coordinator for at least a 2nd year. It’s be dope if the Vikings were the first team to have 2 head coaches 🤔 offensive head coach Kevin O’Connell and Defensive head coach Bryan Flores 🤔 as a Vikings fan I f’ing love the sounds of that. Or just do whatever you have to to keep Flores with O’Connell
Amazing that the Vikings also passed on him, what? 5-6 times in the draft? Vikings were lucky, let's not act as if their scouts are geniuses. Pace isn't too small, his tape don't lie, Mike Singletary and MLB from Miami back in the day were the same size. He is thick, quick and makes use of his talents hence why he is starting.
Another thing that I am seeing that is being unsaid. Is his tackling. Shedding blockers is all well and fine. but if you cant tackle properly it is for naught. What I like about what I am seeing from Ivan Pace Jr is his tackling. He doesn't get lazy and shoulder tackle. I hate shoulder tackles, and I dont care if they are done by rookies or all pros. Shoulder tackles while they look cute on the screen when they work, are for the lazy because if the guy bounces off you. You are on the ground while the man with the ball is still running. Its also a sign the defender is tired and should be attacked with a physical runner or receiver for exactly the reasons I give. Not Pace. He consistently wraps guys up and holds on like a lion taking down its prey from the first snap to the last.
A common criticism that annoys me is when pundits state a prospect does not have "take-on strength". They never point out that the prospect is bloody quick and smart to get around blocks...
Great video analysis, this guy is great, was doing quite a few mock drafts last year and i would try and draft him when ever possible, glad we got him.
I loved this guy's college highlights and thought he could easily be a second rounder and every round I was hoping we would draft him I can't believe he went undrafted and we got him anyways
Ivan Pace Jr. film let’s go !🔥🔥🔥 His story is interesting because as a Vikings fan we all thought Brian Asamoah had his spot surely locked up there was no one else but then here comes this UDFA kid politely stepping in and just directing the defense & calling the plays in like he’s been here before it’s amazing
@@kenbagwell8551Pace has looked outstanding and Hicks has played really well. On top of that they run an absurd amount of 3 safety sets. He's a good player he just needs oppurtunity. For example pace played like 13 snaps vs the bears asamoah played a few short of that and hicks played almost all of them. This doesn't mean asamoah is bad.
What I find funny is the same people who say Pace is a beast and a steal and that size doesn't matter", are the same people who didn't like the Asomoah pick because "he was undersized" which he isn't. Shows how much these people actually know about football. Too much stock is put into the combine and measurables when the ONLY THING that matters is the tape.
Very instinctual player. You can’t teach that stuff. He is going to be special player. I do think for film study purposes we could critique him more. For instance, I believe it was the second clip. Yes he did evade a block from Travis Kelce but I would like to see him go downhill more.
Pace has quite literally been terrible week in and week out. I can show 30 plus plays of him getting cooked. He leads the league in missed tackle opportunities unties. He has given up 10 catches on 11 targets. This man is terrible.

I had him going to dallas in a lot of mock drafts. Damn shame they decided to avoid LB. We had achane, drew sanders and torrence but we got another Escobar in 2nd. After that the draft was fuking abysmal.

Under Ed Donatell, Pace would not have seen the field. Instead Brian Flores has found a building block for what the Vikings defense will grow into.
Or Zimmer
It's not the size of the man in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the man and Ivan Pace Jr. exemplifies this statement!! Go Ivan--SKOL!!
For real. Pace just has a motor that won’t quit. I’ve seen him crawling at the qb to get the sack

They fs will keep Flores. Our offense hasn't been as good as last year and if the offense gets better we can win games.
@@blakefults5898 It's not a matter of if the Vikings want to keep him, he may get more head coach looks after this season.

@puppethound I mean so did 31 other teams for 7rounds it's mind boggling he went Undrafted
Aint this dude got laid out by a QB? Trash

Watch Ivan's double pancake of two o-linemen in the Atlanta game if you can find it. It's unreal
Love watching your analysis on players, can certainly tell you know what you’re talking about! Also thanks for covering some Viking players!
A rare bright spot in an otherwise disappointing season, and a great fit for Flores defense.

pace and Asamoah gonna be a dynamic duo SKOL
You got it half right. Asamoah can't even get on the field except for special teams.

Pace is a stud. Was stoked when they got him as a UDFA

Undersize and undrafted 💎 #CincinnatiMade
Played against him Freshman year in high school been knew he was gone get somewhere. him and his brother pretty good not gone lie 💯
Ben leber called his number immediately as being something special in pre season
At 6:15, Herbert has to double pump due to pace being in his face.
