Great video! From udfa to starting in a season is remarkable. I personally think he is the best defender we have. Especially with hunter gone. I wouldn't trade him for any other linebacker in the Nfl. Watch his film and remind yourself he wasn't even last on the depth chart... He wasn't even on a depth chart after the draft!!! He will be an absolute beast this year!!!!!! Huge fan of this dude!
I think Ivan Pace Jr. is one of the Best UDFA Linebackers and he is very smart with good plays and he is awesome with the Minnesota Vikings. I think he should been the defensive player of the year plus he was the best defense player.
John Randle didn't get selected after 12 rounds. He also tried to get on with Tampa but they released him. Their loss! Also, he had to cheat for the Vikings to even give him a shot.
Scouts and coaches have missed out on some great players because they didn't fit "the prototype" despite being the better player. As much as AI can be scary, hopefully it gets rid of some of the old school scouting flaws that sports has been plagued with since they began and replaces them with the hard numbers. It is great to see Ivan Pace Jr proving all those fools wrong!
He was good enough to take well before the last round of the draft, but went undrafted. Now that he's playing with that chip on his shoulder? To the league's offenses: you better stand up & take notice.
He reminds me of another Viking who was considered undersized and even had to cheat his way onto the Vikings. His name is now in Canton. I'm sure you know who I'm talking about. Hint: Big dogs are in the house!
