    This is for intermediate and advanced students who want to take their technique to a higher degree. Beginners learn steps, but reaching the beauty of latin dancing takes more effort. Thank you for this free lesson. It's invaluable. I save this.

      Agreed 💯. Awareness is the key though. That’s where the magic is. Thank you for watching, Renatha, appreciate your comment and time.

      I agree. For beginners to learn the true feelings of ballroom also takes effort and commitment. But mostly, when beginners can't dance socially , that's the level they're happy with

    You are an excellent teacher. I am learning classical Indian dance but the Indian teachers are of such a low standard I wish I find one just like you. You are amazing x

    What a difference this makes to dancing. I will try to be more aware of my back and shoulder blade action when I practise. The only thing is if I rotate my arm like that I think the flab on my arms will look worse 😅
    You’re a wonderful teacher, thankyou for sharing your knowledge so generously ❤️

    A brilliant video im trying to improve my latin action. Im an experienced ballroom dancer. Can i ,with respect, ask for an explanation of the phrase "your shoulder blade is connected" im not sure exactly what this means. But the rest of the video is brilliant.
    While im here, similar phrases are used in ballroom . "Use the floor" is a favourite one. On its own this is ambuguous. When i was a beginner, i assumed the phrase meant use the full size of the floor, which i did. Later i realised wbat was meant. As a lecturer (in a different discipline) ive learnt tvat instruction has to be precise enough that misinterpretation is not possible.

      Hello Philip, thank you for watching and trying to explore it further. Shoulder blade is always connected down through the body toward the foot.So, when foot and ankle are being used pushing up , the shoulder blade caps it and connects top part of the body down. Hope this makes sense. Similarly, "using" the floor means we are pressing towards it vertically to move horizontally. That's why we dance on hardwood floor that is sprung. Please let me know if this clarifies your question.

    This is super helpful and well explained! Maybe, you can upload also a video with other, more special steps with this shoulder blade action and how it works there. For example in the CC/R Check, the R Sliding Doors, the S Botafogos or in general spins and (spiral)turns.

    Ugh…. I’m not even sure anymore if I have any shoulder blades in my body….
    Connecting them to my hip action? Can’t find the darned things 🙄🤔🤯

      Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts. Please try to align within your position and to relax to feel it more. It is very comment that a lot of dancers don’t “feel” the shoulder blades. Just gently work on it while visualizing the action. Hope this would help.

      Thank you kindly for your time watching. In a way, International style Latin is not authentic or original Latin dancing. It is kind of a mix of ballet and Latin ideas and music. If you’d have any specific questions or things you are looking for, I’d be happy to address it. I still appreciate your comment.

    • @ladyliberty407
      @ladyliberty407 Місяць тому

      @@every_heart_can_dance 😊 thank you for replying. I guess it's just different to teach how to dance and to learn it as you grow up, as part of your culture. This way you just kind of acquire it, and follow the music. You certainly deserve credit for giving these tips, and help people dance these rhythms, when they're so different from what they've seen or listened to growing up. Keep it up, and hope you can continue to help people finding joy in dancing and enjoying music.
