Thanks for the video mate, did some investigating myself after watching this video and I was able to spot pretty significant gaps in the return air space which I will be rectifying. Also appreciate your time and advice on the phone earlier today. You guys are true professionals!
After watching one of your older videos on home efficiency i went investigating my system. I was horrified to find my return air had no filter on it, huge gaps on the top window architraves, gaps around doors, evap ducts wide open. Thank you to all your advice and insight!!! Have been slowly correcting everything and is making a huge difference!
Oh geez. Just noticed similar thing. This vent/return thing has holes 1cm high by 4cm wide and NO filter .. in the cavity I see ridiculous amounts of dust.. this was built for us in 2009 and the two kids who have their beds near to or under the ceiling heat duct of their room are often getting cold/flu symptoms and allergies

Great video. I found it very interesting.
Paul Watson hope it helps! 😉
Hi, My return is in the floor in my linen cupboard with a louvre door, question is is it meant to have a filter on it? It only has wire over it.
it normally does have a filter in it there. ;)
@@ecoevo Thanks do I just buy some of the G3 filter material for heating/aircon they have on ebay?
Can huntsman spiders get in?
Jamzeeod Yup, massive huntsman. Good spiders those. Harmless. 😉. They kill other horrible spiders.
@@ecoevo May I ask how though? I'm probably wrong, but from the photos I've seen, the duct pipes (or whatever they're called) all lead to one machine.
Jamzeeod So spiders won’t go through holes that are connected to the return, via the internal cavity wall?
@@ecoevo I meant how do spiders get in the pipes if they all lead to one machine.
Jamzeeod Via the return, that is connected to the ducted heating system. 👍🏻
