Thx a lot for your in depth explanation… I just bought a Vintage lunch box and you helped me a lot to understand what I have to care for restoring it 👍👍
@@josephpuzzo1 sorry lost this one in the inbox. Prices right now are just out of control so it’s hard to price anything right now. A NIB rerelease you can get for around $150. A NIB vintage more like $400 but right now nothing is that cheap.
On the vintage wheels, they say "front" on them, do the re issue wheels have this embossed on the wheels as well? Could be one way of telling them apart
I pulled out my used vintage Lunchbox and took the tires off and I did see the "front" and "rear" stamp. I no longer have the ReRe since I gave it away after I did my build video. Since I never took the wheels out of the packaging I might have missed that. Can anyone else confirm if the ReRe has front/rear stamp on the inside of the rim? You will need to take off the tire to see it.
I was able to get some help from someone that had a re-re. Both have "@1987 Tamiya" and "RCC Lunchbox/rear". The vintage has "Made in Japan" which is not on the re-re. The re-re has the serial number and ">ABS
the Video is and was awesome to watch and great effort that you have made i cant understand how you don't have thousands of subs , but hopefully the word will get out and you will get many more to the point of monetization at least great content new sub and liked cheers VintageRCgarage .

Glad it was useful!
This was my first RC truck I built myself in 7th grade . Love that crazy van bouncing all over the place was great still is..
Great first kit. The body shell is a bit tricky to do well but definitely a fun ride.
I am glad that there is a re release so I can build an use an new one 👍
The Lunchbox is a fun one to drive
I really wish they molded the body in yellow like they do the wheels.
Great comparison video.
The body is interesting. It is amazing how many different shades of yellow you can end up with just by playing with the color of the primer.
Very Helpful for Comparison, Thanks for sharing
Your welcome
Cool information
Glad you enjoyed it!
Klasse Beitrag, habe auch zwei lunchbox.

Tank you, very detailed
You are welcome!
That is the most immaculate vintage nib Lunch box kit I have ever seen! Let me know if it would be for sale
Thank you. Unfortunately I do collect so this one is not for sale. You can enter to win the rere build in my giveaway 😀
@@VintageRcGarage already have a couple of re re LBs. I collect as well and the LB I'm still missing
@@VintageRcGarage do people pay good money for the original kits? What would something like this be worth?

I can see the Vintage quality is much much better....
There is just something about the vintage kits that make them special
Tamiya was also looking for cheaper labor moving the assembly line to Philippines for maximum profitable growth.
Makes sense. Thanks!
Is there a 1/10 scale of this? I keep seeing people labelling it 1/10.
The box says 1/12 but people commonly lump them all together in 1/10 for some reason.
Nice job people are stupid

Thank you very much! I really enjoy building and documenting. Free time is always the enemy. Feel free to spread the word :)
