    All of what you discuss in this segment agrees quite well with what Dr. Lustig discusses in his book, Metabolical. I suspect that an interview between the two of you talking shop would be extremely popular.

    Great channel. Life changing info. I started intermittent fasting 2 weeks ago. Using one meal a day. I'm a chef so I can pick good meals. My problem was mostly sugar laden beverages. So how do I get my energy levels up to red bull status without redbull. Are 5 hrs energy drinks safe or harmful

    so how can we tranlate these conclusions to guidelines for healthy human behavior? for example, should i favor/ not favor eating of berries and dates in my diet if i am prediabetic/ diabetic??

    Isn’t another limitation of this study the fact that the fructose was delivered in pure molecular form, but the fructose we consume in fruit is surrounded by a natural fiber lattice which slows absorption, and contains all sorts of antioxidants that are beneficial to health?

    • @Physionic
      @Physionic  3 роки тому +2

      Absolutely - great point. Its possible the results would have differed if they had consumed a fruit or something else that offers the trappings of other molecules, like fiber.

      Not a limitation because most people consume the majority of fructose in their diets via energy drinks, sucrose (table sugar), sugar addictives, high fructose corn syrup, etc...

    Interesting. Apparently, insulin insensitivity may be a property of any low glycemic carb, which seems, at first, to contradict the usual recommendations for people with diabetes. Anyway, this only happens when consuming too much carbs since, in the converse case, one apparently only get benefits (lower triglycerides). See, for instance, jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2040224

    -Why is fructose metabolized faster than glucose?.

    • @markaguilera493
      @markaguilera493 2 роки тому +2

      Because its absorption is passive : it doesn't need insulin to be absorbed.

    Table sugar is 50% fructose 50% glucose. High fructose corn syrup is 55%. Both are equally bad. Blood fructose levels cannot be measured yet it is several times worse causing glycation damage than glucose.
    Fructose cannot be used for fuel or anything else. The liver has to metabolize it to fat which is stored in the liver similar to alcohol. This is why we have children with fatty liver disease.
    Fructose metabolizes into uric acid and is the prime cause of gout IMO.
    Dont eat and drink fructose whuch means dont eat and drink sugar and corn syrup!
    See Dr Robert Lustig videos.
    Sugar is not food, it is an addictive drug.

      @AI-vs7sm Рік тому

      Yes, that's right , meaning NO!!! Fat does not cause diabetes. Notice that the study implies that fructose induces fat, by way of triglycerides. Fats and proteins are essential for life, glucose from excess carbs , any carbs entering your mouth is excess, is NOT needed. Your liver produces the one teaspoon of glucose that your body needs. No extra by food is needed, unless you want to raise your blood sugars. Don't want diabetes? Don't eat carbs, then there is nothing to spike your levels Only if you are VEGAN , does fat cause diabetes, because it fits their narrative. No science needed!

      Oh, I hear the tolerance test trick coming already! If your pancreas isn't getting overworked by excess sugar, then its operating at baseline,( idle), so, yeah, if some idiot doctor gives you 2cans of Coke to drink, then you pancreas has to rev back up to meet the threat. But, it goes back to normal in short time. EVEN KEVIN HALL ACKNOWLEDGES THIS IN HIS LATEST STUDY. Look up the Randle Cycle to understand how it all works!

    Another rat study, probably ignoring Satchin Panda's work on Circadian rhythm, fed in the daytime under blue white light. Nice. (not).
