My dads mom lived to days within her 96 birthday, and she had some strange ideas about some foods for sure and she grew her own alfalfa sprouts I believe they were but she also ate chicken, eggs and beef, made her own 100% brown bread. She grew a garden through most of her life ( which is pretty much what they survived on back during the depression ) so had various veggies and fruits, tomatoes and potatoes etc. She also never condoned food that was as she put it "messed with" as in processed garbage from the store. Whatever she did she did something right for her, she was never sickly, and always active as in never had a vehicle so when she moved to town she walked everywhere and did everything by hand in her garden in town. She was also never overweight ever in her life, slim and yet strong for her size.

I like some alfalfa sprouts, occasionally, kind of as a condiment for the crunch. But the thought of eating huge quantities of these every day with the express purpose of getting enzymes and a bucket load of liquid, is nauseating. You waste more calories chewing than the sprouts can replace. Not to mention the cost! Steak is CHEAP compared to sprouts, calorie for calorie -- and nutrition-wise, too.
