Good job! I like how you reviewed it from the "pro" pov and then from the intended-use POV. More reviewers should do that! I'm just getting started and I'm giving this SW a try.
The two problems you pointed out starting at 11:50 are dealbreakers for me: 1. VERY difficult to see the places where the video has been split. It's invisible, as far as I can tell. 2. The Video Track and Overlay Tracks don't stay in sync when you edit. The second point is the big one. It essentially makes the program unusable for me. I don't understand why the program operates in this way. It essentially means that you have to reposition every single item in your Overlay Tracks (individually) every time you alter something in the main Video Track. Is this a deliberate design choice by VideoProc Vlogger? Are there benefits to this that I'm not aware of? Or is it just an oversight?
I use Videoproc Vlogger for all my videos now and it works well for me. It's easy to see where video's have been split - just run the cursor over a clip in the timeline and it's edges are highlighted. I agree about the video track and overlay not being in sync if you edit the video, I get around that by placing a marker at the point where the video was before the edit and another where it is after the edit. I then place something temporary at one of the markers (I just copy one of my bits of text). Then select all the overlay tracks and move them from 1 marker to the other - that's it. Perhaps the only missing feature I would use is some form of saving customised settings - e.g. I use commentary subtitles and I always have to set the size, edge thickness, colour and so on at the start of the video - if I could save them down as a style, I would just choose my customised style instead of one of the standard ones. I do videos ranging from a couple of minutes to over 2 hours and it copes with them all very well at 4K. Update. I have just found that you can save text styles in videoproc vlogger
Thanks Andy, I'm just looking to edit a few holiday videos myself but you have explained the dark art of editing brilliantly! I will give this software a go now that I can follow your tutorial 👍
Excellent review. One feature you didn't mention, it uses the GPU (at least on windows machines), so my very old PC can actually edit 4k vidi, whereas Resolve pretty much can't even run on the same machine. Cheers.
Hi I've been using VideoProc Vlogger for some time and I like it even with its limitations the biggest problem I find is the colour grading of multiple clips we can't select multiple clips them and then do the colour grading over all the clips you've got to individually colourgrade each clip before you add it to the timeline. Anyway you have taught me a few tricks that I intend to use on my forthcoming videos.

@@camposvazquezHi no sorry I have stopped using Video Proc Vlogger as a video editor due to the limitations as I explained above. I am now using CapCut which is free as well give it a look.
Wow. I’ve never attempted any editing of any kind, but to do what I want, I’m going to need to learn. Hi Andy very informative video. Amazing free program. Just shows how much hard work you and your peers put into vids for our enjoyment. Keep up the good work mate.
I have been using Video Proc Vlogger HOWEVER on my first project which was very small, when I put transitions in the still clips, the music track started going slow every time the play reached a transition, so I had to take them all out - some sort of glitch there or a setting I have no idea about
I am testing Videoproc: Much is good: So far I found two downsides: 1/ Your can not trim your clips with this tool. They recommend that you buy a special tool for this. 2/ I clicked the motion buttom to try to zoom. But when I zoomed the photo of a woman, the program zoomed to her breast so you could not se her eyes. If i tried to use keyframes I could zoom to her face, but then the whole screen became smaller so there was not the zoom-effect I had expected
Might have to check this out and see how it goes. It depends a little on how many cameras i used and if it was a tour video or a talky-vlog-thingy. For a tour vid with 3 cameras it could take as much as 3-4 full days. For a talky vid, s as Little as 6 hours. I regularly use Davinci Resolve. It’s complicated but far more powerful.
@@AndyManCam Cool. I have Davinci too. Just learning though. Wow. 3-4 days. Well, you do a great job. And, your commentary is always great. Does that come naturally to you or do you take 100 takes before you think what you said is good and sounds right? I hate hearing myself and when I try to do any kind of video commentating, it's just awful. I just moderated a software conference totally improve and I can't stand to watch myself in the replay. Ugh....🤮 LOL! 😁😁
I have tried it and it is pretty good. But I have a problem if I want to edit a 4k 2160p video exported from Screenflow, And when I import it into videoproc vlogger the preview looks blurry and does not look sharp like the original video exported from Screenflow. has anyone had this happen?
I’m afraid i haven’t tried to export 360 videos with this software. It’s possible that you need to find a way to ‚inject‘ the 360 metadata to your exported video. A Google search on this subject should help you. 👍🏻
I never didnt edit nothing, I just play games. And I will give it try to learn edit with this software. Thanks WD. Sorry about that. Sadly it was really more of a review than a tutorial. Check out the Videoproc youtube channel, they have tons of tutorials about pretty much all of the functions.
You can use it offline. The catch is that they have other complimentary software that you have to pay for. But if you don’t need that, then you’re laughing.
If somebody is charging you for it, then it’s either the wrong software or a rip-off. Videoproc Vlogger is free. Videoprocs other software costs money. The converter, for example. Are you perhaps confusing the two?
Wow. Thats a strong feeling! Don’t forget that if something didn’t do what you want it to, but does do what lots of other people want, then maybe you were looking in the wrong place? It doesn’t do everything i want it to, but i certainly don’t blame the software for that. That would be like being angry at my Ordinary car, because it won’t do a teen second quarter mile!
What can i not explain? Also I’m pretty certain (100% certain because i was there when i did it) that i mentioned that i was indeed paid by Videoproc. But they didn’t pay for my opinions, only my time. Ps, stop shouting.
Andy, thank you so much. I have followed the link and installed, seems to be, a free software. However, when you open project and pull down menu under VideoProc at the top left than click About It reads Unregistered Copy. Also, if you click a LOCK icon at the top right there two lines to enter your Email and License Code and link to how to get a free license with explanation: "VideoProc Vlogger comes with a lightweight size and easy-to-use UI with which everyone could create next-level videos without a hitch. It is 100% clean and free video editing software, but not open-sourced. Therefore, a valid email address is needed to receive a license code, get licensed to use the software and update to newer versions. (License code is free and exclusively associated with the email you submit).." Benefits: "Use the full features for free and update to any newer versions for free. No watermark or ads in the opening, closing or any part of the output video. No limits in video length, file size, resolution, or any function." I have followed the registration procedure and received an Email with License Code. After log in with your Email and the Code the Lock Icon disappears And About screen displays "Registered Copy".

Might be best to contact Videoproc and see if they have any suggestions?
I have tried to edit 360 video but when exported they don't play in 360. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I’m afraid i haven’t tried to export 360 videos with this software. It’s possible that you need to find a way to ‚inject‘ the 360 metadata to your exported video. A Google search on this subject should help you. 👍🏻
Wow that is interesting. If you don't export videos what do you do with them? Do you not upload any to any social media.@@AndyManCam
The video in the time line plays slow and jittery. How do I fix this?
I think you’d be better off contacting videoproc for ideas. 👍🏻
go to settings -> timeline->playback priority->set to: video...
Cheers Erik.
I never didnt edit nothing, I just play games. And I will give it try to learn edit with this software. I see all talk about Adobe, Da Vinci etc but still let's try this because I think it's more user friendly and raven if I want to buy it, it's more cheaper.
Edited: But i want to make and edit gaming videos and landscape videos
Good luck Davor, i hope it works out for you.
Can this software convert SDR to HDR? Like capcut for pc?
I’m afraid i don’t know.
hi, a nice review I'm sure but you lost me early on and i tried replaying to see what buttons to press etc but no joy, im a complete novice but i want to have a go at this stuff , editing my drone vids for example, IT is not my thing so maybe its just me but some more basic tutorial would help me loads.
Thanks WD. Sorry about that. Sadly it was really more of a review than a tutorial. Check out the Videoproc youtube channel, they have tons of tutorials about pretty much all of the functions.
@@AndyManCam thankyou, ill take a look
No problem. Good luck!
I use videoproc and i quite like it.
Glad to hear it! Happy editing!
AndymanCam; as yet I still cannot use this program despite numerous conversations with VideoProc help center.
That’s a shame. Sorry Stoney.
Great ❤❤❤❤
Thanks!
A great review, but still a daunting task for a beginner
great if you could do some basic videos for absolute beginners
The tutorials on the videoproc channel are really helpful.
Looks nice enough but no Linux support?
Geek. 😉
@@martybartfast tis true! 🤣
So whats the catch of this being free? There has to be something. Can you use the software offline?
You can use it offline. The catch is that they have other complimentary software that you have to pay for. But if you don’t need that, then you’re laughing.
Seems good for a freebie.
it doesnt work for me!!
who says it is free? It costs around USD 35
If somebody is charging you for it, then it’s either the wrong software or a rip-off. Videoproc Vlogger is free. Videoprocs other software costs money. The converter, for example. Are you perhaps confusing the two?
@@AndyManCam Yes you are right. It is the Converter that cost money. I was confusing between the two.
can you look a video?
How do you mean?
Nice 👍🏻😎
Different indeed… that’s 28 minutes of my life I won’t get back!
I have never been so unhappy with a paid for or free program in 15 years on the web.
@@AndyManCam see my latest response. Depressing!
TOO BAD YOU CAN NOT EXPLAIN IT. I GUESS YOUR GETTING PAID BY VIDEOPROC !!!
Also, if you click a LOCK icon at the top right there two lines to enter your Email and License Code and link to how to get a free license with explanation:
"VideoProc Vlogger comes with a lightweight size and easy-to-use UI with which everyone could create next-level videos without a hitch. It is 100% clean and free video editing software, but not open-sourced. Therefore, a valid email address is needed to receive a license code, get licensed to use the software and update to newer versions. (License code is free and exclusively associated with the email you submit).."
Benefits:
"Use the full features for free and update to any newer versions for free.
No watermark or ads in the opening, closing or any part of the output video.
No limits in video length, file size, resolution, or any function."
I have followed the registration procedure and received an Email with License Code. After log in with your Email and the Code the Lock Icon disappears And About screen displays "Registered Copy".
All’s well that ends well eh!
Little too much Andy. Lost me.after 5min.. 🥱
