Which you would recommend for simple projects like you youtube but with a PC on medium configs (i7-8700 w. 1080Ti)
Excellent video to start the year! Happy New Year Brett! Looking forward to what you have in store for us in 2024! 👍👍💥💥
I searched a lot of videos and this was the best one thanks
Thank you for the review video. It is clear, concise, brief usage examples on products, and appreciated mostly, is not influenced by commercial sponsorships.

Nice vid!
Thanks for giving us this useful information for your suggestion i install Davinci software on my pc
Thank you
Glad to see that VSDC is still on the list... Been using it for well over 5 years now.
Can you add music ?
ofc@@Legggoooifuego_
@@Legggoooifuego_yes. I used it years ago when my channel was brand new. I’d recommend shotcut or kdenlive, or even the old build of Olive.
Thanks for the video!
I'm going to try and get my head around DaVinci Resolve 18 as most of my videos are in 4k
Great content overall with just enough information for me to make trial and adoption decision. I've selected quite a few of the #1 recommendations, from Blender and GIMP to DaVinci and LibreOffice. Well done and please keep publishing and updating your "Best of.." lists.
great channel. great content.
Looking forward to a new year of great videos.
Thanks dawg this helped alot.
What about the Olive Video Editor?
Good.
Thank you for these, very useful. I find Davinci too CPU hungry though for my PC, but I will be trying out the others for sure.
I started using Shotcut from your previous video....Now i might try Davinci as well
yeah don't uninstall Shotcut yet. Danci is not intuitive and needs a heavy duty machine to prevent lag
@@computerjantje Yeah, i saw the min requirements and decided to keep shotcut
Are there any requirements for the computer for these software programs?
Hello Brett, I am looking for a video editor that will READ text as it is displayed sequentially. Your suggestion, please.
Openshot reminds me of windows xp movie maker
DaVinci Resolve is awesome, but on Linux the free version of it has VERY limited codec support, which is a shame...
which of these has free AI background remover? Not taking about green screen or black background remover
how did you make your tittle video? Once that is electrifying and at around 30seconds
Shotcut is my favorite
If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it very much! I have thousands of video files from over the years. Most are on OneDrive, the others on Google Drive. Is there a way to integrate or 'pull' them into video-editing software without the need to download the files locally?
In terms of my level of understanding, I'm JUST about comfortable enough to deal with APIs, at least in a raw data-related environment.
Thanks for video. I use ShotCut for windows. When I am trying upload on UA-cam it takes so much time even if about 10 mintutes video (1080p). Any suggestion?
You have a bad upload internet connection I presume. Usually with dsl or cable upload is very low. To get shorter upload times you could make the compression more when saving(rendering) a video. But that also influences the image quality.
@@computerjantje Thanks for your reply. My upload speed is between 125 to 150mbps. Is there any other settings needed inUA-cam account?
@@Just_a_normal_guy11 upload time has nothing to do with settings on youtube. Maybe your rendered file is very large. If it is too large make the compression higher. that should result in lower rendered file size. a smaller file uploads faster ofcourse :)
Lower bitrate
Which free video editor is best for fixing badly shot videos having commonly found issues of brightness/contrast , saturation/coloration, video pixellation and one that also supports encoding in 10-bit colour depth along with 8-bit colour depth?
Probably DaVinci Resolve, otherwise Kdenlive or Openshot
Hi brett, is hitfilm still free?
They discontinued their free version called Hitfilm Express a couple years ago.
It still sucks though (kinda)
OK, you've beaten me up enough that I'm going to try shotcut....we'll see how that works out......
I'm a total beginner. I'm never going to be a videographer. It's just going to be me talking interspersed with some still shots (no videos). Where do I start?
Shotcut is probably the most simple for beginners
nice list aways used openshot for its simplicity some of them other look overwhelming and require a learning curve
Davinci Resolve is ONLY interesting if you have a heavy duty game computer. It needs lots of processor power and even more graphics card power to prevent lag while editing. That alone should be the reason it cannot be the number one spot. Also the learning curve or better said 'intuitive path' is by far not easy enough to get the number one spot.
All the professional grade editing software needs a beefy computer to run it properly.
I came here to see if anything was better than resolve but it seems like resolve is the best! I have been having terrible trouble with it though... playback wont even work and it keeps freezing! Im not sure why because my specs are well over the best for it.
why is capcut not on this list? it has not watermark and i dont see any time limit...ive edited videos in capcut longer than 40min
There are no Linux version of it.
davinci keeps crashing before i get off the splash screen. any fixes?
I've been using Shotcut for a while now and let me just say... it's terrible, the number of crashes I've had while using the program is astounding, plus it gets way too laggy way too quickly, try applying a filter or two during that fade and boom, the frames will instantly be deleted from your pc... the only reason I actually went and searched up this video was me trying to replace it, lol.
Davinci resolve is quite complicated to use for a beginner like me
What to big UA-camrs use
Capcut beats all but Davinci surprised you left it out
CapCut has a 15-minute time limit. This video does not include software that has a time limit or watermark.
@@BrettInTech The newly released version of CapCut 3.0.0.1015 for Windows has no time limit or watermark.
Not aware that CapCut has a 15-minute time limit? Although there seems to be a downloadable version & one that runs in a browser, which involves having to upload your video, Don't like that idea. @@BrettInTech
So we all know nothing is free, how do these companies, like DaVinci Resolve make their money?
They primarily make money on selling hardware like editor keyboards, panels and consoles.
@@BrettInTechand mainly cameras.
And the studio version if you get really ramped up into editing. Aside from that, it really is completely free 👍
@@oxygen454 I believe they made Studio paid just because they can, I highly doubt that they make any serious money out of it, because it's order of magnitude cheaper than any other similar level professional software.
It's owned by blackmagic... they got everything u need for broadcasting videoing.... they are really famous
vsdc is so laggy
God bless CapCut, is he dead.??? 😢😢
