Recently, I've been complaining to VideoProc that some newbies, like myself, struggle to assimilate how video editing works. Whether broadcasters go too fast in selling us the product, poorly go through the mechanics of VP, or corporate marketing / branding being a convaluted mess, they need to find someone with an ability to teach. This vid is the best example I have found where someone "gets it" by showing me how to fish instead of telling me about it. He knows how to teach, to tell me why, what, where or how this works. Now, I have hope that I can get some experience and build a better understanding of video editing. Good job HTG George!
Great tutorial - thanks. Would like to overlay still in various positions but keep existing still overlays as add another one. Also could green screens be used with overlays?
You can have multiple overlay layers, adjust the position of the contents of each layer by using the Transform controls to the right. Green screens are overlays. Here is my video on using green screens with Vlogger ua-cam.com/video/lP7nPpkOmqI/v-deo.html
Pretty darn awesome George! This looks like a piece of cake when you don't feel like spending a bunch of time in some of the other programs that have an endless learning curve. Thanks again!
I have been very intimidated and a bit scared of buying and using a video editor that will be too much to learn. Up till now I mainly use the GoPro Quik app and it does the trick for me. Easy and fast but I am feeling the time has come to up my game a bit and start dabbing in a bit more with my edits. This program seems to be very advanced but of course the best part is that it is free. I have downloaded it and will start to play around with it and on my next outing I will shoot a lot of video and use this software to edit the video. Wish me luck and thank you for the great tutorial that is not 2 hours long.
You're welcome Richard, and don't worry about video editing. As with anything else there is a bit of a learning curve, but not really much of one. Video editors are really pretty basic programs.
I’m a newbie … thanks for the video! I’ve used a Microsoft free editor and when you overlay a video it (defaults?)to the same size as the main video so it’s easy to pop in little B roll videos . It seems this defaults to a smaller window. Have you found a way to make it default to full screen? Thanks!!
Hello, why cant you move parts wherever within the video track? For instance you delete one part, than what happens is all that is behind that part comes to the part where you used the scissor. Thats kind of not cool :) Would be awesome if someone knows how to fix that (keep in mind, Im not a pro)
Like a lot of free software VideoProc Vlogger is designed to be easy. That usually also means that you will lose some functionality that more expensive programs have. A more advanced tool that is still free is DaVinci Resolve, they have a free and a paid version but the free version is also very powerful and enough for most users.
Hello, Thank you for this rather complete presentation of this editing software. I like to edit with Videoproc Vlogger and i use it on a Surface Go M3. Fluent on 4K from a Canon m50 for cut sequences but with lags while editing with overlay tracks or transitions. Normal with an Intel Core m3 an 8 Go of RAM. A question : what is the best kind of machine for fluent time-line playback (no lag) with 4 or 5 tracks of 4K videos with effects, titles, PinP sequences ? A Windows compact PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 ou 9, or a Mac mini M1 ? How is you own PC powered ? And can you edit smooth with 4 or 5 video tracks with 4K rushes ? Thanks a lot for the good job and best regards.
You're welcome. Compact PCs or Laptops are not great for video editing. I only use full sized machines either designed for video editing or for gaming. Basically you need as much ram as you can get. You need a very good gaming level video card (can't get those right now). And you need a large SSD drive, preferably 2 drives. Put your project files on the second drive. The most difficult and resource intensive thing you can do on a computer is video editing. Right now I am using an HP business computer with a gaming video card for video editing and a Lenovo for everything else like doing these comments, but Dell is also good and 2nd level brands like Alienware and Corsair are also great. So don't think small, don't think portable, instead look at professional level business or gaming machines.
How's the performance on a low-powered machine? Their specs say that on a Windows computer only 1 GB RAM is required, 2 GB recommended and 4 GB for HD. I have an older Windows 10 laptop with 4 GB and a Celeron chip.
You can download blank green screen panels from my website here www.georgepeirson.com/project-videoproc-vlogger-lower-third-green-scree-title/. And watch these 2 videos on using green screen in videoproc ua-cam.com/video/1ZJwQgTdz-o/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/lP7nPpkOmqI/v-deo.html
Hello, Thanks for your hardware informations. Another question : when i insert a sequence on the main track (between two others), elements on overlayor effects and title tracks don't move and all files on the right are offset. Is there a keyboard shortcut or a trick to keep everything synchronized ? Thanks again.
That is a problem that even expensive video editing programs have. Tracks tend to run independently of each other. A trick I use is if I want to insert a segment into an existing timeline I will place the play head at the insertion point, I will then split each track at that point. Then when I insert the new material it is easy to update the other tracks to match since they are all split at the same point. That puts everything back into sync quickly and easily. There are lots of limitations to free programs but this is the only free editor that I feel can actually be used to do more advanced editing.
Awesome. Have been looking for something like Imovie but with better colour grading tools. I have the software downloaded anyway, hoping to be able to edit off-line like you can with Imovie
Sir I have been using this editor for the 5-6 months but have been facing with an issue of not showing the add text tool in the tool bar in videoproc vlogger, so please help....
The Text tool should be right below the video monitor window, just to the right of the Audio tool (the microphone icon). Try downloading and updating to the most recent version of the program.
So basically my videoproc doesn’t let me access any of the features like one of them, the video doesn’t appear in the timeline I have to right click on it to start playing it but I can’t crop, change the speed, add filters or transitions, like literally nothing, do you know what could help please
Sounds like you are playing the video from storage and you haven't added it to the timeline yet. Take a look at this complete project I did, it goes through all the steps ua-cam.com/video/1ZJwQgTdz-o/v-deo.html
I’m a newbie here! When I begin a project, the sound is normal speed, but the video is slow. Even when I cut the sound, the video plays slow (like slo-mo). Any ideas?
Sounds like you are working with a very large file. VideoProc is great, but it is still a free program and has trouble with larger files and more complex tasks. If you are serious about video editing, like you are doing videos for UA-cam, you really need a paid program.
I have editors that I use to take care of my real estate shoots. But, I definitely want to be able to edit my own videos to save on expenses, and this is excellent. Do you have any real estate videos that you have edited using VideoProc? I sure would like to see it done professionally. 📷 🎞
All depends on how many cuts you have, how many graphics you use, how many effects, etc. If you want faster video processing my best suggestion is to buy a professional editing program instead of using a free one. There are always drawbacks to using free software.
I have a mod and i needed to make a resource pack of that mod, The mod is security craft and i needed to change a block but the block is using dispenser texture but the face was different, I dont want to change the dispenser itself for this. Btw i'm making optifine texture pack...
Yes but what I show in the video is far more complex then this actual review video which has pretty simple editing. My opening logo in the bottom left corner was created in Adobe After Effects as a video element then added to this video as a green screen element just like the opening in the wall.
In VideoProc click on your sound track, then click on the Audio button below the view window. In the Audio Editor click on Effects, then scroll down the list of effects. Speed Change is the bottom of the list.
No idea why it is free, but it is common practice with companies to release their software as free to build up an audience and market, then add on a paid version with more features. Since I don't work for VideoProc I don't know if they are planning this.
Actually I have the complete Adobe Creative Suite, ACDSee, Affinity Photo, Photoshop Elements, Gimp, Microsoft Office Suite, Paint.net, Blender, Camtasia Studio, Audacity, and that is just the stuff I use relatively frequently. Of course I am in Minecraft every day, along with using Photoshop Elements and Camtasia every day, but that is just because of the UA-cam videos. Actually most of my time is spent on working and not on UA-cam, would like it better if UA-cam was all my time, just can't afford that yet.
i love everything about this software EXCEPT for one thing: the crappy quality of the exported file. i put a 1080p 30fps in video proc (v. 1.3), then immediately exported with all the highest export properties at 1080p. and the export looks like maybe an enhanced 360p video. i uploaded it here: ua-cam.com/video/-7MZW4McL9I/v-deo.html
It also depends on what settings you are using in your project, just to the left of the Export button is the project settings button. Click on that and make sure it is also at the size you want.

Thanks Jim! Really appreciate it.
I concur with your sentiments
Bravo. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for doing such a great job walking through the features step by step. It was very helpful!
You're very welcome!
Great tutorial. Just what I needed as a beginner. Thank you.

You're welcome! This is my current favorite free video editing program.
Fantastic thanx, how do i move a clip away from the beginning of the timeline?
Just drag the clip where you want it. You will need to have an empty space available for the clip.
Learnt more on this video than instructions well done

Nice one! Looks simple enough to use!
It is!
@@HTGGeorge when I expert it doesn't have a watermark
