KTA P Adult females do not always accept and bond with baby monkeys that are not their own. This was NOT some instinct thing. This immediate bond that Mrs Gold felt for the little one..was nothing short of amazing!!

What incredible work you all do, simply amazing! Not only heal them physically, but slowly turn the orphans into well adjusted, psychologically stable, emotionally secure monkey kids is so fantastic. I try to do that with domestic animals and some wildlife rehab. The expressions on Jerry's face said it all. So beautiful to see these sensitive animals receive such good care. Not all mothers instantly fall in love with their babies. Pressuring new moms/parents to have this connection with their newborn is fucked up and causes postpartum depression. Everyone loves their children, but they're people too. You need time to get to know them.

I took it as a more generalized statement saying we all have it in us to love people we’ve never met. Not that we HAVE TO, but it’s in us if we WANT TO. I’m definitely not saying we should all go around hugging perfect strangers. There are ways to show people that we don’t know we care without getting in their personal space. 😁

When Mrs. Gold hugged Jerry, it made me cry. Animals are not the mindless, thoughtless, totally driven by "instinct and not feelings" creatures that they have always been portrayed as. Animals have souls, they are not automatons moving through the world in an unfeeling way, merely concerned with survival.

It's kind of crazy how we can be so similar to these animals but so drastically different at the same time. They have such intelligence and emotion behind those eyes, you can practically see it in their gaze.

I felt it too! I knew that they’d be in each other’s arms quickly. What is wonderful to witness are animal’s behaviors regarding relationships. You can and you pay for it too. Look them up if you are serious. They take volunteers. But it's a paid volunteer program where you pay to he ablentongo. They are only funded by the volunteer payments and donations. They receive no government aid and very few grants. They are located in South Africa.

😞 The VMF needs your support right now though, they have not had any volunteers in the past year and a half, because of travel restrictions, plus the majority of their operating capital came from those volunteer's, for room and board costs. Now, they are not only very short on funds to buy food and medicine for all the troops, but they don't have any help with all things needed to do, they have hired a few, but that costs more money!

Tbh I think that working or even volunteering at these animal rehabilitation centers, and help taking care of these beautiful monkeys is way better than just having them as some pet. Because you not only get to watch them grow and recover, buy when you release them you feel a sense of accomplishment and have the knowledge that you helped these little guys return home.

I can't imagine calling monkeys pets, especially the babies. They just look and act too human at times, I imagine having a monkey as a friend.
I don’t believe monkeys should ever even be pets in the first place.
Your monkey friend will pee & crap where ever they want. Imprinting on babies is a big mistake & then add their natural behavior .. not good for either of you.
if i had a property where he would be safe maybe i would try to rescue one he could drop by and hang out when he wants and stuff

You should check out "The Vervet Monkey Foundation" on UA-cam. As you see they rescue tiny orphaned vervet monkeys who get a foster mom and live in protected forest. I subscribe & watch the weekly videos to see them progress, so cool. It's baby season now & they have 15!
