The 1uz engines are just great motors. My friends brother in law was a tech for like 15 years for Lexus. He told me if you take care of those motors with good oil intervals they're bullet proof
Lovely, lovely engine. Sounds magnificent. Your part time radiator shows how it should be done. I can't stand first time start videos where they run them without coolant. Like you have shown, you just need a bucket and a couple of pipes to protect the engine.
What else must be done to start this type of engine or a 2jz engine? Think you said clear codes in ecu or itll never start. Id need to buy another ecu or get someone to get programmed correctly
What all do you need from the factory harness to start and run, I got a 1UZ from a 91 LS 400 but I have the entire harness and I have power but no power to starter once I turn the factory key and ignition
I downloaded all the factory manuals and diagrams from Lexus/Toyota TIS, and probably spent 8-10 hours stripping the harness down to what I need and cutting out what I don't before attempting to start it. The starter circuit is pretty simple, main battery wire goes right to the starter solenoid, and a trigger wire to activate the solenoid (which right now, I just touch on the battery, I'll have a relay for it when it comes time to install). Get out your multimeter (or test light) and start checking for power.
starts up @ 9:55. Sounds great! Amazing engines.
Preety cool!! It should last 1milllion miles
Busy prepping mine to bench start it, fitting it to a SWB gen 2 Pajero. 😁😁 Thanks for the video.

In Saudi Arabia , we took this engine from lixus LS400 and swap it on Toyota hilux .. as a cheap option more than others 🤸🏻♂️
God that sounds amazing. What an amazing engine even 30 years later.
cartunenz is great! I like your setup, cant wait to see it getting installed.

Japanese engineering puts everyone to shame. Smooth running 👍

How to blow air out the engine after replacing water pump ? Mine is overheating
The best engine made from Toyota
I want to make something like this just for prototyping (to learn how to tune and work with car engines).
Of course my friend has a Tundra with 430k. Keeps his oil changed at 5k miles and uses synthetic oil. It's an 01 4.7l trd 4x4
Can I use this engine as a generator in a building?

Cartunenz is the 1uz god
🤙nice!
The starter location is honestly the only downside to this engine, but it’s a hell of a downside😂😂😂
would make a nice boat engine
Look up Toyota Epic boats, there were factory Toyota ski boats using these engines (with a few modifications).
The 1uz is a non return fuel system
The newer ones are (I'm not sure the exact cutoff, might just be VVTi), but this '94 definitely has a return
Japanese muscle car engine
Look at all those wires bleh
lol you know most of them aren't hooked up to anything harnesses are very flexible
