I have a Lido mount for my FTM-400XDR in my pickup that attaches to the seat bolt on the floor. It wobbles all around. I bought a Lido CD slot mount. Don't like it. It wobbles. I made my own mount from a PVC pipe that has duct tape wrapped around the base so it fits into the cup holder tight. I have a video of that on my channel not that long ago. I like the one I made a whole lot better. I have my floor mounted Lido mount tied to something so it doesn't wobble around. I want a ram mount so bad. Much better but you have to fork out the $ for that.

Yeah, I imagine I will give the Ram mount a shot at some point... but for now that little magnet is the winner... since it got me approval for more radios! :)

Is your Lido seat mount the one with a flexible goose neck or the solid two piece rod with adjustable joint in th emiddle. Trying to think of something for a KX-2.

@@RobPetty622 It is the flexible one. The flex part is solid rod that can be bent to shape. Problem is that it is too long and can wobble. Someday I might get a Ram brand mount specific to vehicle model.

Did you see bigfoot back in there?! Lol Great video! I like the 2nd option. Wonder how that holds on the dash in hot weather conditions. I’m still thinking about putting my anytone 578 in my SUV.

Maybe you didn't realize... I am Bigfoot... I am sure that you simply saw my reflection in the window. :) Thanks for watching Bill!

The cell phone mount seems to be the best. Running the cable around the back of the remote head should solve your problem. Nice video,

I agree. I just ordered a couple more. I am going to eventually put an HF radio in there, and I need to put one up for my phone mount. I'm curious to see how well the adhesive holds up in the heat. Thanks for watching!

I have the Lido gooseneck mount that bolts to the floor, used with the 5100. It as a lot of movement and the remote head will turn vertical eventually from the vibration. I am looked at cup mounts but I like that dash mount you use.

How would the hot summer sun affect the head unit if you use the Icom mag mount on top of the dash? Guessing you’d take it down once out of the car.

I had it mounted on the dash during the summer. I just tossed a hat on it to keep it out of sight and direct sunlight when I wasn't driving. The adhesion of the mount is what failed in that situation. It just got too hot to stay stuck. Thanks for watching.
