Thanks for the video. But no need to Jack up & take wheel off .only need to turn wheel all the way to the left & take out 2 bottom fasteners & u can work mudguard out of fender & pull it back far enough to get to pump.
They quoted me about $350 - $400 to repair mine when I brought it in for unrelated issues. I laughed and asked "Why so damn expensive? Do they have to take off the bumper?" To which the guy said ..... "Yes..." After hearing that, I said I could go without until I learned how it was done from UA-cam University. Last week, I got my replacement on Ebay for $10 (it wasn't the cheapest one. It was the *second* cheapest one! lol). I am about to pull my car into the garage as soon as I am done typing this and replace my washer pump on my 2012!! Thanks for posting this!
Yeah, it's ridiculous what they charge to replace the washer pump. Hope my video works for you. Oh...you can turn the wheel hard over and have plenty of room to get the job done.
Getting ready to do this to mine. My pump is good but my damn plastic fitting that goes into my rubber hoses cracked. Thanks for the video! Saved me time from having to figure it all out myself.
Your very welcome. Try turning your wheel hard over before taking it off. That may be enough room to get the job done. Comment back and let me know if that works
Oh my goodness! I'm so glad you made this video. It looks like I will have to try this, but being a woman, I would be afraid of not having the tire put on tight enough with the bolts. But may just invest in that Jack and stand. Possibly the pressure drill too, but I don't have a garage, so I may just have to use the old fashioned X wrench thing. Thank you again for such a post. ✨🤘
I just read another comment that it is possible to perform this job with the wheel still on. Turn the steering wheel hard over left. Remove mud guard panel, 5 lock screws to gain access
On a 2015, or maybe this one as well. NO NEED TO TAKE THE WHEEL OFF. Turn the wheel towards drivers side. Remove the two clips...underneath only, then pull the wheel well plastic. There is pleanty of room to remove eleictrical, hoses and pump. There is absolutly no need to remove the wheel and the other 3 clips. Hope that helps....
well all I did was turn the wheels all the way left to get access remove the sleeves and open it just enough access you don't have remove the whole sleeves, and drain the water by pulling out one of the small hose so it can drain slowly must have patience and wiggle it out and replace it super easy, don't need of jacking the car up and remove the wheels if that helps.. but great video man and thanks for the help..
Loved the vid! Thank you for posting. Do you think I can replace the Reservoir tank by doing this? Or would I have to take the bumper off? Thanks for the help!
My pump was working fine but had a leak in the plastic body. Turning the wheel didn't really help enough, I had better access putting the car up on ramps (don't have jack stands). Pretty simple job, would also recommend trimming the ends of the black tubes before reconnecting to new unit to ensure tight fit. My Hyundai OEM replacement cost $28, purchased 06/2020 (for 2013 Veloster). Thanks!
Same discovery here with my 13 VT. I got it for 25 bucks off ebay from CNS motors. Dealership wanted 150 for it and it would have to be overnight from korea.
Such an easy remove and replacement job. Dude have you seen how much the dealership will charge for a spark plug and coil change?? I have a video up for that to DIY.
Hi I like your video I'm having an issue with the container leaking but only when I hit the switch to turn on the pump and it leaks close to where you drain the container could it be the pump issue or the container
From what I see on the video is probably leaking from the pump but not the container because it only happens when I trigger the switch that it leaks so it could be my pump
I tried and it was just too hard to get to. I think taking the tire off gives you the best access to getting to the washer pump. 👍 I have a Hyundai SUV and I tried getting to it while the tire was on and it was super hard to get to the washer pump that way. But maybe I will try removing the plastic flap covering and that might help the most. 👍
It’s been my favorite car that I’ve owned so far. Anyways, repair is done….ended up finding an oem replacement on Amazon for under $40 bucks Canadian lol.
Ebay is where I ordered mine just last week...... Oh - you asked this 3 years ago!!! LMAO....... Did you find a supplier yet?? I hope the repair went well and is still working!!
What is the symptom for knowing you have to replace this motor? On my Sante Fe I push both front and rear and no fluid. Looks like might have had to do the same. Thanks
When one direction works and the other doesn't or both directions always send to same sprayers (front or rear). That's actually because the line is clogged somewhere. And could be the original reason the pump failed. That happened to me and wound up using a pin to unclog the sprayer to resolve. Cheers!
@@fludrbywest3886 in my video i pulled the wheel off. You could probably turn the wheel hard over and have enough access room to do the job. Let me know if you do that.
Thanks but video incomplete.. I was wanting to see where the hoses go front and rear without mixing directions. Also it just shows unit already out and already in, no process. Process is what makes a video, not before and after.
at last someone who explains it properly, i could not understand the other videos thanks
Appreciate your comment. Thank you.
Thank you for your video I’ve just saved $200 and will be doing it this weekend
Glad I could help

Same exact thing happened to mine (2013), I was hoping the hose split at the end but no such luck!

Btw, there are much cheaper replacement parts (as low as $12) but reviews showed many problems so I went with OEM for a few more bucks.
Thanks for getting back to me about turning the wheel vs. Taking it off. Glad this video was a help to you.

I don't think do. The motor is inexpensive though.

That pump controls both front and rear wiper. My rear wipers failed prompting me to change it.

Hard point of the Veloster frame. You know you might be able to just turn the wheel hard over and have enough work space.
Good guide thanks.

Is the same fix procedure for the 2015 Veloster?
It should be...the pump is on the right side bumper for both the Turbo and regular Veloster.
Why did u replace this pump? Faulty pump or was it leaking? Ive got a leak somewhere and worried about having to pull out the whole reservoir
My pump failed
Thanks alot man

Will this be the same for a 2015 Veloster?
The frame is essentially the same. Did you try?
Sorry I just got back to you. Funny I was in the same area changing the fog light. There was plenty of room by just turning the wheel hard over.
What is the symptom for knowing you have to replace this motor? On my Sante Fe I push both front and rear and no fluid. Looks like might have had to do the same. Thanks
If you don't hear the motor engaging then the motor has shit itself. Check the lines for possible break. In your case I bet the motor is bad.
Thank you!

Hey bro, i did this and now my rear is working but when i try and pump the front the back keeps coming on?
